I installed the wide Max A arms but, kept the rest stock. Haven’t broke a part yet. No need for all these upgrades and you made that clear. It’s interesting to see what can be done though.
When you are done I would love to see a side by side of a maxed out Maxx versus stock. Performance tests included. It would really show what the potential of the platform is. Thinking of doing most of these to my own rig once I learn by watching you!
I did the WideMaxx Kit as well as the Steel Drive shafts. Well worth it. I started with the stock plastic shafts for a while. Over time they broke. Went to steel, easy install and very happy with the performance. Personally I feel it is more stable and corners better when running the 4S, 3s does just as good. Spring swap is a mixed bag for me to say. I did it as it is part of the kit for the Wide Kit. In the end of this, if I was doing it over again I would do the steel shafts while doing the Wide Kit install, you have the Maxx tore down so why not? Hope this helps.
Love your projects! This is kind of expenive for a similar performance, BUT !!! IF SOMETHING MAKES YOU HAPPY IT IS WORTH IT! so do whatever you want and dont let others jugde you!
Love your videos! If I remember Correctly you have to trim something out of the chassis to fit the adapter. Does that affect the adding of the new x servo ? Thank you. Please help. 🙂
Modded 4x4 stampede vs modded maxx, vs modded Hoss which is your ultimate preference and why ? I know there all great at the end of the day but you have a lot of time on each . Appreciate it .
Very good short vids. thanks. but you should really do one about upgrading the bellcrank linkage (8946) as it goes wonky in very short order, and will wear out your servo pretty quickly if you keep driving. In fact, you should make this a series... what needs replacing right away to what you will need to replace/upgrade eventually. thanks
Hello. Nice videos. My Maxx is orange too and I like how you show how easy it is to work on it. I put on orange arms with the help of your video. I have to ask, can you make me a deal on those driveshafts when you go wide? I don’t plan on going wide on mine. Keep up the good work.
Bit curious to see which servo you'll prefer. I have an Amazon special 35kg in mine right now, and has pleasantly held up, but should it fail, and I want to go with a "branded" one, this will be some good info. Thanks Greg!
Considering this servo for the maxx, is there a noticeable difference between the servo you installed 2285x vs the high torque 400, I got that "400" in my trx4, love that upgrade! Another awesome video !!!
I always thought it was a bad idea for a metal servo horn on a basher. I want to do it on my maxx and xmaxx just dont wat to replace servos again. At least that's what ppl say.
The Maxx a 1:10 Truck shares the same servo as the X:Maxx a 1:6 scale Truck! Either the Maxx is over powered or the X-Maxx is under powered! I think I know what my X-Maxx owners will say!
Traxxas lies about the torque servos put out saw a video where they tested the red and blue servos they both put out half as much as they claim. Savox, Protek, Ecopower Are the 3 brands I run
I like your channel, but I’m absolutely done with Traxxas’s servos. The stock one on my Xmaxx gave out after 5-6 light runs on a turf football field. The 2085X gave out after 20 runs with no real bashing at all. It’s time for me to invest in either a ProTek or Reef’s. Traxxas’s engineers should be embarrassed with their servos durability and the stock tires on the Xmaxx. Stock servo on our Maxx and Hoss also gave out way way too soon. Absolutely ridiculous!
Man!! Just saw you featured my channel!! Such a huge moment of pride for me!! THANK YOU!!

I took my stock X-Maxx 8s servo and ordered and installed metal gear set into it and then put in my Maxx 4s. Works great and saved some money!

Really enjoying this series! Can't wait to hear your thought on the Widemaxx kit install.
Me too. Always love trying things that should drastically alter performance. 😀

@@crazyman3157 That was my thoughts too. I did the drive shafts the same time I did the WideMaxx Kit. Hate doing anything twice😊
I always look forward to these build series!
You are a master to make a hole video for only changing a servo, that takes 3 minutes.
All part of my Jedi training.
Love your projects!

Been waiting for this video , thank you 😊
Kool video thanks for sharing 👍

Almost for a running video for the Maxx upgrade run, hopefully 🤔 to see it at the track or parking structure.😀🏗️☕👍🇺🇸
This will be an awesome once youre done.stay safe my friend.

I see you did not use the new servo saver spring? Any reason why not? Thanks!

yesss its been so long since
Enjoy the content and Traxxas the option parts. Very informative.
is the servo horn any longer than the stock plastic horn? Doe sit touch the top brace at all when using?

Be sure to check the length of the included steering link. The one I got was too long. Hot Racing makes a great, billet aluminum one!
what does the traxxas 2090 have for torque? thought it was 285 but you said 365
not sure what the 2085 comes on?
ty

I’m still thinking on maxx but a already have an xmaxx. Pleased more review on on nitro
Is that the Traxxas max wide kit V2 .I heard the plastic drive shafts are longer then Traxxas max wide kit v1
When you’re done this can you pressure Traxxas into making a wide kit for the XMaxx? lol Now that would be badass
That’d be really badass but idk if it’d hold up as well
Yeah buddy!
how much stress does the 2085x steel horn put on the plastic servo savor really needing to know so i could possibly upgrade
A Lot when you do a lot of sharp turns which you will
Do they make a steel servo horn for a standard size servo ? Anybody have a part # ? thx
Was it a straight swap from original servo to metal gear traxxas servo. Did you have too use the plastic adapter?
The only reason I bought the 2255 servo is because I saw your last video where you installed it 😔 now you’re saying this one is better, 2085x?
Yes. it IS BETTER Loud running when new though😒
Where did you get that shock oil caddy?
I have the 6 million dollar man opening online my head...
"We can rebuild him we have the technology"... 🤔🤣
Is that the right servo horn part number
yes
I watched the video thinking I was going to get a tutorial but you didn't show how you installed the servo
Do you have to use traxxas parts lol. I would recommend a better servo. But I don’t know if you’re contracted to use traxxas parts.
I wish it was this easy on the xmaxx
I always thought it was a bad idea for a metal servo horn on a basher. I want to do it on my maxx and xmaxx just dont wat to replace servos again. At least that's what ppl say.
Isn't this the same servo used in the Xmaxx 🤔
Yeah it’s a crap servo. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.
What servo did you think was better ?
Nearly 450oz of Torque.
X-Maxx servo mini maxx

@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe true but not as bad
I have a maxx and want a protek or savox black edition.. I guess I need the bracket to make them work?
