Bitwig is the gift that keeps on giving. I had no idea you could load a synth in the FX container. Now even Marvin the Martian can modulate the modulators of the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator thanks to the Grid.
very very creative ! I was looking for ways to quantise modulations to certain notes to create melodic pitch or resonant filter modulations. I will try using the grid note quantizer for this. Thanks
@@AlexReidStudios yeah patcher is really great. slightly different workflow than the grid, but results wise, if you include containers (i think thats the right word?) i think you can get identical or nearly identical results in a similar time using similar processes. just with patcher you gotta learn some of the weirder native plugins to really take full advantage of it. i think the grid might be more intuitive out the gate overall.
@@AlexReidStudios yeah i think the big difference is external plugins vs the little custom plugin legos thats in the grid. if you get plugins that do those things or figure out how the stock fl stuff can do those things you can put them in patcher, but its not quite as streamlined or intuitive
I love Bitwig 5 but the probelm with all these mod devices is you end up spending to much time wasted trying to find a good sound instead of making music.
@@AlexReidStudios Thats what i do. Sometimes i cannot be bothered making songs and just want to make sounds weird dark sounds lol. Ive thought about making samples and presets for my synth and others. Cheers mate...
Thank you so much for this video! I had no idea this actually worked!! This is quickly becoming one of my favorite Bitwig UA-cam channels!!
Thanks a lot for your support! :). I was also blown away when I discovered this simple routing option

It's crazy, they don't tell you that but it so useful
next level as usual alex
Thank you!
Wow this is gold man. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Thank you for watching :)

Glad to be helpful and enjoy :)
thanks, this kind of workflow never occurred to me!
Enjoy :)
great idea! very useful
Glad you liked it :)
Very nice, why have I not twigged this before? getting modular with the modulators, obvious when you think about it.
It's not so obvious, I had the idea when I realized effects inside the grid highlighted and was like "omg"
❤ wow. that sound at 5.58!!!
Thank you!
its interesting how much of this sort of thing in bitwig maps onto stuff you can do in patcher
Patcher is still one of the best modular environments

@@GillamtheGreatest What I love about patcher is the plugin integration. That makes it something else

"Modulation grid" should totally be a thing in Bitwig, though! (Not that I would ever complain about the modulation possibilities in Bitwig)
Agree but only to make it be parto of the modulation devices. Otherwise I see that the functionality there
At the beginning of the experiment section, I can't find SEL In in my BitWig to save my life. Where is that?
found it lol
Great!

For that I separate my sessions, sometimes I just fool around and create sounds. Other times I make music with simpler sounds

Hi
