To those commenting negatively, the Carmelite spirituality is more based upon mystical contemplation than necessarily being a hermit. This does seem to be a bit of a mix between Benedictine and Carmelite, but the Benedictine aspect is I think necessary for the location in which they're living, and the fact that they're attempting to be self-sustaining.
They also use the traditional forms of the liturgy, which helps to ward off the modernist liberalizing influences of the "hey look how cool we are with our guitars" mainline OCD structure. I suddenly want to donate money to these guys, and send my sons there.

When you consider the four Thomistic personality types (sanguine, choleric, melancholic, phlegmatic), I think the Carmelites and Benedictines both tend to be in the same camp of melancholic, which tends toward introversion and contemplation, which makes it a natural fit. Franciscans tend to be more sanguine, traditional Jesuits more choleric, etc... Each order sort of has its own personality. I think Carmelite and Benedictine spirituality are fairly close in terms of the sorts of people whom it attracts, and I'm therefore quite excited by these guys, as they can apply Carmelite spirituality with the more Benedictine monastic culture, as is necessary for their circumstances.
Considering I'm looking for places to encourage my boys outside of JUST the FSSP, I'm very excited to know that these guys are there.

I live up in Idaho, and would love to come see the equivalent of a European monastery. Wyoming' gorgeous to begin with, so a house of God, through our brothers would be a wonderful place to escape this insane world. God be with you all, and St Elijah, pray for us. God have mercy on us sinners.

This is a third order Carmelite group. There has been a push in Carmelite circles toward the primitive rule. It likes like this third order group wants to accomplish that. I like the design of the monastery, it seems they have their separate cells like the first Carmelites. Awesome.

GOD has given me an extremely strong calling to establish a monastery based on sacred classical tradition plainsong chant and polyphony, and the other sacred arts such as carving, icons, calligraphy, stain glass, etc.

1 Samuel 2:2 “There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

Great Question! It’s called a tonsure and it is a more traditional kind of haircut but it is meant to resemble the crown of thorns our Blessed Lord wore during his sacred passion.

They're called tonsures. They are a symbol of devotion to Jesus Christ.

Mark Johnson you fail to understand that the particular style , design, architecture what have you of this building is for this building to speak of God, it's for Almighty God's delight, a temple to be built this style for HIM. But do not worry, it is not your fault that you think this way, it is all the years of diluted catechesis and evangelization of a feminised, protestantized and modern church of nice catechesis that you and most of us have been exposed to.

    • @MarkJohnson-dr4ws

Johnny Utah you worship a gargantuan child that delights in period Lego. That or you presume that God shares your taste in architecture. one idolatrous, the other presumptious and pretentious. Such are the characteristics of cultists rather than Christians.

Well we are told those carmelites have nothing to do with Polish Jew Jacob Frank and its sabateism...
Sarmatians polyanders, unlike Polygamious Sabateist muslim Dönme, wherever you are threatened about Rabenou, a boïan who by the Austria Est Imperare Orbi Universo Sex Ratio commitment will recreate the Kingdom of Jerusalem, meaning the Union of Iberics Polygamious and Hellenics Polyanders (Jersualem=IberusAlainen).
    Mount Carmel :
Koran- Surat 37 Verse 125 : Why adoring Baal more than the best of creators ? It is not said Why adoring Baal much more than the beast of creator.
The government of God or Yavhé or YHWH means that it is Destiny to govern Present day (the one who dominate (ה) the skies, meaning all destinies (י) will dominate (ה) the ground meaning the present day (ו)...יהוה
By the will of YHWH, Eli killed all other priors of other Baals (Elohim meaning extraterrestrial).
Threatened of the Vengeance of other Baals nothing happen, why ?
YHWH gave a test to Eli in showing him that this is what is the difference between humans (Humus alainen) and Achem (Aliens or Allah or Elohim)...the fact that God condition is to be infinite, good or bad, great or small, dark or enlightening, etc...
So antitalmudists Carmelites Jews make propaganda of White supremacists whereas Talmudists jews Dönme make propaganda of worldwide antiwhite culture both in Zionism to make appear the Rabenou .
But what do they want with him ? Facing the Baal Shem Tov ? But Baal is Achem God condition and Rabenou is like says Armenians as human as lord.
The reality is that YHWH gave the order in Mount Carmel to create monotheism totalitarism.
And Sabateists are still adoring "another God" but showing to world they adore only YHWH in being Christian or Muslim.
