- Fr Michael-Joseph of St Thérèse explains the connection between Mary and the Carmelite tradition. We see what Our Lady of Mount Carmel signifies for the spiritual life of Christians and how they can incorporate this devotion in their daily lives. She is not just for Carmelites, but for all who want to go deeper in the adventure towards union with God. The brown scapular is seen as a great key for this.
I have had a life long struggle with impurity. I have subsequently worn the Brown Scapular and many of the temptations I have been plagued by all my life were conquered with Mary's help. Thank you Jesus and Mary.
Yes. Our Mother know how great the temptations are. BUT SHE IS GREATER. OUR HOLY MOTHER STOMPS THE HEAD OF SATAN! She keeps my heart pure for Jesus too. Fred, you are not alone. Our Mother will ALWAYS help you. And I too, through my prayers to Our Mother for you.
This is also true in my own life. Years as a Protestant struggling and living with a degree of acceptance that I would never overcome. Then after conversion to Catholicism I began implementing Marian devotions and miraculously the temptations and impurities that paralyzed my spiritual walk began to abate. I can’t explain it but see the fruits. Like they say, “there’s something about Mary.”
I have had the same experience and now I always wear a blessed scapular.

My father died on the feast day of Our Lady of Mt Carmel, wearing Her Brown Scapular and with a medal of The Holy Face. That same morning that my father passed away, I had just finished a novena to The Holy Face. ❤💙❤️🔥🤎

July 17/22 my friend and I ask the preist to say the prayer and bless our brown scrapulars with holy water we were so happy.
We went to confession SUNDAY MASS and we were able to receive the EUCHARIST on the tongue for the first time since COVID.
I would not receive communion in the hand I made a spiritual communion.
This was a day I would never forget.

This talk does speak about the gift of the Brown Scapular, though its focus isn't in giving the details and conditions connected to this sacramental. It actually accomplishes something rarer and more precious: it opens to the listener the bond of heart and love that rests at the center of this devotion-the love and caring of Mary for each of us... and the love and caring we can give to her by our faithful devotion, and by our service to others-St. Thérèse of Lisieux is a strong and beautiful model such heart reaching out to others.

The seed has been planted by my wife's mother, who I consider to be a disciple, as she has helped nudge me in the direction of Christ and to become more enveloped in His word. Through her actions & words I find in myself this urge to understand more and become closer to Him. Thank you for this wonderful explanation of the scapular as I was recently given one by her. Not truly understanding its importance at first I now feel so grateful that she did.

I live on Mt. Carmel, in the city of Haifa. I took the brown scapular on Tuesday but my priest is newly ordained, not a Carmelite and he didn't know anything about it. This is a small offshoot chapel. The main church is Carmelite and I need to get to the head priest and find out exactly what I need to do.
