This piece was used in WIZARD OF OZ, when Dorothy is running home at the beginning. We later see a piano in the farmhouse, so Dorothy is probably taking lessons and this may be one of her pieces; also, at the moment she is a rather UN-happy farmer! Then her first song in Oz, "The Wind Began to Switch" is essentially a variant of the tune.
Listening to this performance makes me want to practice. I hope to be able to play this just as well. I was once told students inspire instructors everyday, but only great instructors inspire students and you are one of them. Thank you for posting this.
I have to play this at the solo and ensemble festival in a couple days, and I am no where near the speed you play. So I still might get a good rating for it because of the right notes, etc. but I can't get the tempo that fast within a few days.
Is it just me or does it sound like this piece may have been inspiration for Randy Newman’s iconic theme from “The Natural”? A couple of sequences here are too similar to be coincidence.
this must be our soundtrack coming home from work

It sounded familiar
I learned this song in piano lessons once and no matter how long I don't play it. It still stays in my muscle memory
Excellent perform, amazing honesty with the detail and inner rhythm accents. Thank you.

Learning this on piano 🎹 and probably wild horseman.
This is used as a festive song in my country. Sinterklaas, anyone?

Hi!
Good Performance😃
Sooooo coool
Familiar to anyone who has ever taken piano lessons to the advanced beginner/early intermediate stage.
Yep
Animaniacs brought me here
Did he pedal at all?
Amazing how this music found it's way into the form of a song called "Red Wing" into an ice cream truck in Phoenix, Arizona in 2020.
And then to a union song, Union Maid, in 1940. Red Wing was published in 1907.
