Noticed a lot of bees flying around a couple of hives and had to check it out , cause this is robbing season. #robbing #honey #beekeepers #bees #beehives #garden
Hi Brad 👋 we also have problems with robbing here in the north. Have to pay very close attention to it because it can cause huge problems. I have seen entire bee yard robbed out of their stores. Luckily we don't have to deal with hive beetles or bees flying during the winter months. Nice video all the best 👍 Eddie
Bees are looking good for this time of year! Heavy feeding will help or if you have a weaker hive you could combine and heavy feed. Keep up the good work!
Morning Brad, how does this fine Wednesday find you? You have so many more options this time of year if you run into issues. It sure is crazy how different everyone's seasons are.
The Bees never really stop in South Ga. The weather is never predictable. December and January could be in the 30's but it could be high 70's low 80's same goes for Feb and March. We can have four seasons in one month. I can Jar feed almost year around. which gets expensive
I hate to harvest honey in late fall. Cause of the robbing! Around Sept. is my last harvest 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝Its bad in Sept. but not as bad as around Oct. Nov. NO WAY 👀 If i do pull some honey? I make sure they have plenty to carry them out for the winter > Depending on the size of the hive. Leave 2 frames full of honey. One frame of honey on each side of the box, for insulation. That just 2 to1 box. i do it to all the stack boxes this way.. Just enough for them to get by on. cause i feed them to. They don't eat during hibernation. Only warm days of Winter, they will eat. Warm days of winter check there food supplies. They will eat HEAVY
Nice looking hive. Nice brood pattern. It’s always something in the south. Keep up the good work. Take care
Fair amount of bees and brood in the bottom deep. I think you're right, feed 'em up. Lookin' good Brad!!!
Hey buddy

They look good Brad.
That queen is doin well! Glad to hear it was orientation and not robbing. One less stressor to deal with.
This time of year is? VERY VERY BAD ABOUT ROBBING. Worst than Spring. Cause they know this is the last sources, of food for them
They will keep us on our toes

I know what you mean , with the price of sugar that keeps going up. This is my first winter with 50 hives and it does cost. Thanks for watching.
