✂ Cover the diary with tissue paper
✂ Measure & cut binding cardboard for door
✂ Cut the emblishments & latch for door
✂ Paste them to the diary
✂ Use a coat of gesso before painting
✂ Paint as per choice(Use chalk paint for better results)
✂ Apply varnish to waterproof & dustproof

How did you avoid the cover from warping? I was decorating a hard cover journal and the base later I glued down paper towel for texture and my covers warped 😔
