I don't understand why the Metra AXDSPX-ETH1 and the Epicenter. Doesn't grabbing the ethernet signal straight from the infotainment/head unit give you a flat/clean signal to begin with? I thought the only time you needed bass restoration was if grabbing the signal after the Bose amp?
The new Bose audio communication for the most current platforms for GM trucks is a lot more complex then the past. So far Metra’s interface is the only aftermarket solution and seen to be the answer for most. The epicenter in conjunction with the Metra interface and nice solution for those how play content that lack Bass in the original recording. So that is the nature of using the 2 products together.
I have never tried it, but it’s possible. You would need a minimum of 2 keylocs’s to make it work. 1 for the dash speaker and one for the door speakers. Then you would need to sum them together to make a full range signal.
How do you handle connecting the tweeters and woofers to the crossover network. Do you have to drill into the door or do you tap into the factory wiring somehow.
From what I've been told yes. I've never done it. The front and rear All-Pass filters make it complicated. The Axxess interface makes it more simplified in my experience.
This is exactly what I did. But I’m struggling hard to get gains set correctly. I set them using gain knob and 1khz 0db test tone and it’s not very loud (focal Kevlar 3 way set). Going to shop soon to see if they can figure it out.
I would have done a wide band on the dash and not a tweet. Too much separation because of the distance between speakers. Audison AP2 or something like that
@@henryv7517 the AP2 plays pretty low, so there are a number of 6 1/2 you can go with. You can cross the AP2 around 500 Hz @ 24 dB per octave . It all comes down to how much power you use. Audison AP6.5, Hertz ML 165.5 and many others.
Awesome work. Which Metra Interface was that?
Thanks!

Lance have you ever tried the kicker keyloc to overcome the Bose all pass?

I generally use the factory wires. Most customers prefer it. I have run wires on some of them.
@@lancesautovlog thank you and looking forward to more content
Is it possible to use just helix dsp amp using the high level inputs from the Bose amp and not the axxess device too?

Also note, I have 24 GMC 1500 with Bose.

I've done those before. The customer is thinking of doing a 3 way in the future, also a tweeter can play higher in the event that he needs it.
@@lancesautovlog what would you have put in the doors to patch the AP2?
