Base Gohan can best be summed up as the classic "Look we know he didn't really fight for that long in this form so throw us a bone." style of moveset. No frills, just a Masenko, a rush that looks like the generic punch rush except it ends in an elbow and a Super Kamehameha that really doesn't feel that super with its lack of a cinematic. The explosion is cool and I do like the effect of the screen shake and the smoke coming off the ground if it hits at ground level but still, it's just a standard Ultimate beam with no frills. His intro is cool though and while not moveset related, I do like how his lines play up Gohan's lovable dork nature. This is the Gohan I live for. Super Saiyan is weird to me in terms of the transformation. I know where the scene comes from specifically though it's weird that they'd more visually reference that instead of maybe going for when he flips out on that Red Ribbon soldier before heading out to save Pan. Honestly, it would've been cool to see him toss his glasses to the side before and then visually reference that transformation though that's a nitpick. Aside from that they did this moveset pretty well. I really like Explosive Ray since it visually looks like the Destructive Wave which shows that influence Piccolo has on him that I love, the rush is genuinely great with solid pacing and while the ending's a little awkward moving from the scripted sequence to the standard gameplay, it still holds up and the Ultimate... is just another beam though it has the default cinematic at least. Ultimate's transformation is pretty. I really like the zoom-in on the eye which I choose to take as an allusion to Beast and the effects are just gorgeous. Also that unique throw is wonderful, trapping a dude in a headlock to get your wrestling on will never not be satisfying. Though him having the standard DBS character throw is not so good. The Supers and Ultimate are also odd. The first Super's great, I really like that it's a teleporting blast move and how it's different from just being one of Gohan's regular techniques. The Rush has great pacing in terms of impact but it ends far too quickly to be satisfying and honestly? I find the Ultimate is pretty weak. It's strange because Ultimate Gohan's Ultimate in the base game already felt like a lesser version of his Ultimate from BT3 and RB and this feels like a lesser version of that. It has good ideas but it's not ultra satisfying. I'd probably feel better about it if it was a Super. Beast's transformation is perfect and that throw is genuinely better than a good deal of rushes in this game. That first Super is also really cool. I love that it's basically the same attack he did as a Super Saiyan but much stronger and since he's in this form, he's not needing support his arm anymore to fire it off at its full power which is a really cool touch. Explosive Flash is... not as cool if I'm being honest. Now it's faithful to the movie and while it's another reminder that Counter Supers would've been cool to see, having that smirk from before Cell Max fires his attack before transitioning to him moving so fast he basically teleports is genius. My problem is it always feels like with this attack they don't linger on the impact for long enough. In the movie, it's paced in such a way to where you feel just how weighty the kick is and get the idea just from that single blow how powerful he is. Here? It just feels like a single kick that's a bit too fast. Also, the lines they put in are unwelcome. I really would've liked it better if Gohan just remained silent through the whole thing until the big scream. Finally his Ultimate is a mixed bag to me. Now the actual visuals of the beam are great as well as when it hits. The silhouette effect here is genuinely super cool. I don't vibe however with this being a rush. If anything, I would've liked it to just be the charge and then the beam and maybe as a bonus it can do beam struggles since this thing pierced Cell Max's attack. Now the next thing is just a nitpick but I have to ask, why not have the beam drill through Cell Max's dome if it's used on him and drill through the torso on everyone else? I get why it's done this way and hey props to the dev team for making the attack work for the context of a regular fight but, that's still weird to me. I do like how it completely engulfs normal-sized opponents though since we do forget that with how this beam was sized compared to Cell Max's dome, that's basically what it'd do. Super Hero Gohan is fun overall but there are bits that make me raise my eyebrow. He is the best Gohan in the game but I feel it's more a case of best by default. DLC characters naturally are luckier because it's a dev team that's more familiar with the engine being able to work on these characters without having to worry about building a game but still.

@ishmaelpierson7681 Adult Gohan is from Z and Super. We do see him transform into Ultimate from Super Saiyan in the series. It also would have been nice to have the other outfits for Ultimate Gohan.
Because it didn't function as a transformation in Z. He just was Ultimate Gohan. He never transformed into it in Z beyond him unlocking it. So theres no scene to base it off. While this Gohan is based off Super Hero which considers it a transformation.
@@symbioticsorrows3001 Ultimate Gohan being or not a transformation was never a fact, it was a huge point of discussion among the fanbase (he clearly transformed into Ultimate during Tapion movie, but it was nom canon... yadda yadda). I was curious , if you revert back to base does he get his glasses back ?
As a huge Gohan fan. This puts a smile on my face. The reason because Akira did Gohan absolutely wrong in Buu Saga 😑. Its just sad Akira didn't wanted to give Gohan a win against Buu knowing he unlocked his Ulitmate Form. When I witnessed Gohan getting murdered by Buutenks. My heart ached so much. I love seeing Akira reintroducing Gohan back to form in Super. Regardless of the movie Super Hero and how crazy his Beast form looks. Akira done an amazing job at redesigning Gohan. He looks so clean. Ulitmate Form is my favorite form for Gohan and the redesign of Ulitmate Form is beautiful. That's why I even playing Dokkan today because of the Ulitmate Gohan unit that dropped 2 years ago for the Super Hero Campaign 😤🔥
That special beam canon is realistically killing most things in the db realm and the reason it didn’t go through the regular sized characters is because it literally turns kamehameha sized and vaporizes them
Just like the movie, this was put in to make the Gohan fans happy. Especially considering how the base game Gohans are all just kinda okay, Future Gohan easily being the best before SH came out. And yeah I'm not even a Gohan fan and I think this is a fantastic moveset. I mean we all knew it was gonna be amazing, they're gonna make us WANT to buy these characters after all. The intro and transformation scenes ALONE are worth the price. Also fun fact, HIS RUSH WORKS ON GIANTS. And I'd argue it's cooler than the regular variant. Just thought I'd mention it since Omega didn't show it off.
It's so funny to me how this version of Ultimate Gohan ACTUALLY plays, feels and has moves that Ultimate Gohan would do. Just a funny juxtaposition to have the debut form have those goofy looking Supers and the one version of Gohan who had goofy moments is this one. He has Burst Rush on two different Supers like lol. BTW, does the Rush DONT work on Giants? He did that attack to MAX... Overall, this Gohan is good! Actually nice start to the DLC!
I've been expecting something a moveset like "Beast Kamehameha" that would be surprisingly good but devs didn't give him something like that, too bad for Beast Gohan, feels like many things are missing on his moveset
Honestly, i kinda dislike beast... not cause it's an asspull (Which it isn't, Carthu explained that better than i can) But because of THAT hair, and it only changed what EVERY other super saiyan form did E.G: new eye color, spiky hair, and new hair color. It just doesn't scream "Beast" To me
My one complaint is that his Special Beam Cannon is a rush instead of a straight up beam. As great as the move looks, not being able to clash against Cell Max's ultimate is a little disappointing.
I personally think Gohans base and Ssj kamehamehas are pretty cool because he does it the same way master roshi does it. And I HARDLY use those two supers anyway so the few times I see it I think "hey thats cool"
All of them except Beast should've been costumes. We already have Z&Super Gohan mixed together with all the forms. This one is no different. At this rate we will be getting SH versions of Goku and Vegeta because they appear in movie. And don't even let me start on Piccolo. They somehow made FOUR characters out of him.
I really REALLY hate rush ultimates that are only a punch and then a beam, why not just a beam from the start and then add animations on the finish? Also beast gohan throw is better than whole kabba moveset 💀
Love this Gohan, the only downside is the hair haha. I'm starting to hate the movie less nowadays but I remember how disappointed I was in the theater during the credit scene
Personally, I'm just not a fan of Beast Gohan's design. I just preferred the ultimate Form being Gohan's... well... ultimate form. In a franchise all about transforming 20 different times, having a final form that looks so normal was great (same reason why Ultra Instinct -Sign- is infinitely cooler than true Ultra Instinct). But it is now to stay here and I get that. The Rush of Beast Gohan really needed like, one or two seconds of Gohan dragging the target along with him. Like you said, it just looks awkward like this. Like they once again only did half the homework. On the other hand, the special beam cannon is beautiful. I just wish that other special beam cannons outside of the Super Hero ones had a cutscene. Oh well.
He never used it. He only ever used Super Saiyan, Ultimate and Beast. It's just Gohan's hair as a Super Saiyan here visually looks like Super Saiyan 2 now.
@@Emogeta Nope that was normal SSJ. Like said below its really hard to tell the difference between them when he's and adult due to his short hair but if you look closely you'll see he never had the trademark lightning aura associated with the form.
I only have two major problems with this new Gohan: 1) I don’t like the Ultimate of his base version, I would have give something different, like a new version of super masenko like the one he’s got on his ssj teen form; 2) Why the hell can’t I select or deselect the cape in the accessories menu?! I fully understand that the glasses are part of his ssj transformation, so they can’t be touched, but… the cape should’ve been toggled on or off… since if you lose it due transformation and then revert to base, he comes without it. Shame
"Why don't they show the effect of the target getting hit?" Because 99% of the time, it looks exactly the same and does nothing but interrupt gameplay.
I'll take that over the Ultimate having no animation and feeling like just a regular Super. Besides, if GOTEN can get a unique animation for his Super Kamehameha, then there's no reason a DLC character shouldn't have one.
But it also sells the impact of the Ultimate. It's understandable to not have cinematics for Super attacks because that's what they are. The Ultimates are supposed to be these crazy attacks that feel far more powerful and since we don't have rapid screenshaking, screen flashes and ridiculously loud explosion sound effects that wreck TV speakers due to how they're layered? A cinematic is necessary.
...am I the only one disappointed that the Special Beam Cannon is a rush? Honestly, I would of loved it being a beam... One that could struggle, even? That would of been neat... but oh well...
Who asked for this? Beast Gohan could've been just transformation for existing Gohan (that is already DBS Gohan more or less) or just standalone character like UI Goku. Do we need yet another base/SSJ/Ultimate Gohan? Uhh whatever, let's fill up roster even more.
It's important to recognize this. When Sparking Zero was conceived in 2018, there was no Super Hero, meaning the focus was likely far more on implementing Z and Super content up to Super Broly. But then things changed since we eventually did get Super Hero but with a game of this scale, it's unrealistic to expect they'd just toss in characters from the new movie at launch. We see this happen with other DB games too. Xenoverse 2 for instance began development when RF was the most recent Dragon Ball thing and so the focus was primarily on adapting up through that. Then Super was announced and was a little ways into its run but since it didn't exist initially, Dimps didn't focus on Super content aside from the Goku Black preorder bonus.
If the game worked more like Raging Blast, where there was mostly only one version of each character, that would be the case, but that's not how the Sparking series works. Which is a pity, to be fair, because Raging Blast solved the problem of overbloating the roster with the ability to customize your moveset.
So glad you chose to cover the dlc characters so soon

And even if he does succeed, defending the earth from the next big bad will pretty much be on his shoulders. He'd be shooting himself in the foot more or less. You could maybe argue he teams up with the big bad instead, but really, is Piccolo going to trust the likes of Frieza over Gohan?
He looks better here than he did in xenoverse 2.
It makes no sense to have this Ultimate Gohan be a transformation, but the old one is its own character
I understand where you coming from but I'm pretty sure the only reason they did it this way cause we actually see him transform into ultimate in superhero where as we didn't from the old ultimate gohan who is more so his z self
@ishmaelpierson7681 Adult Gohan is from Z and Super. We do see him transform into Ultimate from Super Saiyan in the series. It also would have been nice to have the other outfits for Ultimate Gohan.
This game is loaded of bad decisions in regards to the approach of forms and transformations.
In Dimps old games, like Budokai 3 and IW, Gohan could transform into Ultimate.
Now, years later and after Super made it very clear it IS a transformation there's no excuse for it.
Was so glad to hear the KND parody reference !
I really don’t love the form because of how much it just looks like early 2000s DBAF fan art with double digit SSJ forms but moveset and transformation are animated so incredibly.
I was curious , if you revert back to base does he get his glasses back ?
I like the more aggressive disposition of beast gohan. He sounds, Well… Beastly!
Beast Gohan has that dad energy vicious and overwhelming
My favorite thing about beast gohan is how it reminds me a lot of Super Saiyan 4 Goku.
That special beam canon is realistically killing most things in the db realm and the reason it didn’t go through the regular sized characters is because it literally turns kamehameha sized and vaporizes them
la voz de gohan en modo bestia en ingles, por dios es increible la voz que pone. Mas seria, mas monstruosa increible trabajo del actor
I like Gohan's intro, it makes him like All Might, like I am here
Was expecting you to do the DLC next
Never mentioned how good beast gohans grab is.
They made Beast Gohan look so cool here too
Just like the movie, this was put in to make the Gohan fans happy.
Legit going to start playing Cell Max just to give the sea of Gohans the fight they're looking for.
Is the next dlc pack coming next month ?
No
It's so funny to me how this version of Ultimate Gohan ACTUALLY plays, feels and has moves that Ultimate Gohan would do.
The rush does work on giants thankfully.
Unsurprisingly a lot more effort was put on the DLC.
Ok I know he did it in the movie but gohan going mystic after Super saiyan has to be a callback to the budokai games
Gohan in Super Hero sure is strong. One could even say he's a beast. 😉
Surprised you didn't take notice of Beast Gohan's grab taking directly from OG BT3 Burst Rush lmfao
I've been expecting something a moveset like "Beast Kamehameha"
that would be surprisingly good but devs didn't give him something like that,
too bad for Beast Gohan, feels like many things are missing on his moveset
That scream he does when he transforms into Beast is epic.
Honestly, i kinda dislike beast... not cause it's an asspull (Which it isn't, Carthu explained that better than i can)
But because of THAT hair, and it only changed what EVERY other super saiyan form did E.G: new eye color, spiky hair, and new hair color.
It just doesn't scream "Beast" To me
Please call Orange Piccolo a Super Mutant from Fallout 3. I want to hear after the unexpected Kids Next Door reference!
Explosive Flash is also different against giants. And heads up: the other DLC characters also have different animations against giants.
you didn't mention that beast gohan's grab is the similar as original burst rush
I was wondering if they were gonna have his glases magically spawn back on his face if he powers down. Sure wish mine did that
Now that we got Gohan Blanco, I can't wait until they add Cohan Calvo to the line up!
Tell me you didn't watch the movie without telling me you didn't watch the movie ☕
wow they put a lot into Gohan
I’m sick he loses his piccolo cape when he transforms it would be cool if it was an alternate costume
I have no idea how to use explosive bullet. It never seems to work
Beast Gohan is the ONLY character with a move set that works on ALL other characters including giants.
Is it bad when I first played this I literally thought ‘I wonder what omega thinks of this’
My one complaint is that his Special Beam Cannon is a rush instead of a straight up beam.
Omega is the OG. Can't wait for Piccolo
Oooo could you do Piccolo next?
I do like that all of beast Gohan moves work on Giants including the rush
It's weird seeing his Ultimate form as a transformation in the BT games.
Beast gohan’s rush super also works on giants
Gohan Beast’s rush also works on giants.
First two should have just been alt costumes
Also, why aren't you able to select Gohan without the cape from the start?
@@gengarvenom1180because despite making an acessory option for customization they don't seen to bother using it.
@@matheuslara1670 They don't bother to use most of potential this game already has built-in.
Not really. BT games have already established that different arc, different character, they already did enough keeping Z Gohan in the tournament arc.
Yessss let’s go. I hope this brings a lot of views to the channel
See I told ya they were saving his best moves for the DLC 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I really REALLY hate rush ultimates that are only a punch and then a beam, why not just a beam from the start and then add animations on the finish?
Also beast gohan throw is better than whole kabba moveset 💀
Love this Gohan, the only downside is the hair haha. I'm starting to hate the movie less nowadays but I remember how disappointed I was in the theater during the credit scene
Doesn't Beast Gohan's Rush Super affect giants? Or Cell Max, specifically? Pretty sure I saw it working on them in the trailer.
My only nitpick about him is that the impact frame on his ultimate isnt fast enough imo.
No way Omega called a cutscene an "effect after hitting someone"💀
Beast gohan moves as fast as I wish they would of made dyspo move. 😭
Oh well.
Beast Gohan's throw should've been regular Ultimate Gohan's ult 😭
Anyone got the names for the second OST song used?
I think they should call beasts ult super beam cannon
I still REALLY do not like Beast form's design, but I can't deny that they did damn good with the animations.
Holy jeeze I'm early. But woohoo
Interesting they gave this Gohan moves Z Ultimate Gohan should’ve had
Why did they skip his SSJ2 form? He used it in the movie.
He didn't.
@@thebeginster He literally used it when he charged up in front of his house.
@@Emogeta That was Super Saiyan.
I only have two major problems with this new Gohan:
1) I don’t like the Ultimate of his base version, I would have give something different, like a new version of super masenko like the one he’s got on his ssj teen form;
2) Why the hell can’t I select or deselect the cape in the accessories menu?! I fully understand that the glasses are part of his ssj transformation, so they can’t be touched, but… the cape should’ve been toggled on or off… since if you lose it due transformation and then revert to base, he comes without it. Shame
That second one is incredibly dumb, they make absolutely no use of the accessory system they introduced in this game.
A POV Kamehameha was something I didn't know I needed until today....neat!
…did you watch the film?
"Why don't they show the effect of the target getting hit?"
Because 99% of the time, it looks exactly the same and does nothing but interrupt gameplay.
The hair is cool accept for the one bang in the front, could have done better but oh well
What is the purpose of base and ssj gohan at this point? If they just recycled movesets lmao
beasts looks are pretty dumb, but the rest is awesome! His moves and especially his voice acting is just next level :O
I think the Special Beam Cannon would've been better without the punching.
IT CANT BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
His ultimate on non giants vs giants is almost the same
Who asked for this?
