Belated Happy Christmas. Fab haul… great selection. Solid picks as you said. I laughed at ‘cool Booktube’, definitely not a part of Booktube I’m in but I love watching it. Hahaha. A book I would love you to read… My Mess is a Bit of a Life and What It Feels Like For A Girl.
my family and i do a list! we update it every year and then someone is assigned someone (so, secret santa style). i leave a big selection of items so i dont know what the person chooses, that way i'm still surprised!
We mainly use lists in my family too, although we do add in some surprises. I'll second the recommendation for 'Crying in H Mart' by Michelle Zauner and another memoir I really enjoyed this year was 'Earthed' by Rebecca Schiller.
@@SophieIslington It's about an AI which gained control over its governor module and is no longer under the company's control. It calls itself Murderbot, and all it wants to do is watch soap operas all day! But it has to look after the stupid humans instead hahaha
My recommendation for you is “Crying in H Mart,” if you haven’t already read it. My family also does wishlists but we also go off-list when inspired. We try to keep our wishlists vague like “silver earrings” or “herbal teas” to give people room for creativity.
Merry Christmas! 🎄 my favourite book this year was Duck Feet but I'm not sure how niche that is to recommend because it's written in Scots and I'm from glasgow 😊

Oh I'm really excited for Paris Lees! I'd forgotten that had come out

Yes, we often do that too, as a secret santa between the siblings and partners!

I absolutely loved Crying in H Mart and I've not heard of Earthed! I'll check it out.
As always you got some amazing books! My favourite book of the year was All Systems Red by Martha Wells which is a sci-fi novella
Oh I haven't even heard of that one!

Oh my gosh I loved that book and yes, we do the same!
I love the Paul cover too! I’m interested in the undying for sure
My picks for you are asylum road and my broken language! (Also what it feels like for a girl but Simon recommended it below too haha )
Added both to the list ;)
