    If you understand how a dishwasher works, and what it actually needs to do it's best job, you can make the lowest cost dishwasher work as good as the highest priced brand. Take it from a technician with over 35 years experience.

      You are so correct! Dishwashers and Washing Machines use soap and water to clean. I try telling my family and friends (usually to no avail) that all the buttons and added on crap are expensive fluff (in my opinion). It's all just soap and water. Thank you for your comment.

    I was completely disappointed to learn with the fancy new 3rd rack for odd silverware on my new Kitchenaid AND the adjustable 2nd or middle rack I could choose between washing wine glasses OR dinner plates! And I’m not even talking oversized. I would highly recommend taking your usual dinner plate and usual everyday wine glass or usual everyday tall glass shopping with you. I’ve finally figured out how to remove that top silverware rack. Unfortunately, the side arms still interfere with my wine glass placement, so until I spend a few hundred replacing things or washing all of it by hand, I can’t use the wine glass holders! Nobody ever tells you this!

    Not just dishwashers, but every thing from refrigerators, dryers,washers, electric motors for the fans in your A/c units to the freezer fan motor to the small bathroom fan motors.
    You can tell me all you want a new, say GE fan motor is just as good but have seen as many Fort Wayne Indiana Motors 10, 15! OMG 30 yrs old as new ones 1 1/2 years old needing replacement.
    More than one person with a big old over used Maytag/Kenmore 25-30+ washer & no issues except they are noisy, power hungry & use lots of water.

    • @barnesjohn7657
      @barnesjohn7657 5 років тому +5

      But thinking about the environment, is it better to run the old stuff than fill a garbage dump & use materials to make a new one?
      I don’t know - a neighbor bought a fancy new A/C unit
      All good but the savings won’t come for 136 years. Lol

      Consumers need to start stepping up instead of just repurchasing. These manufacturers are out of control. They basically want a subscription service where you buy replacements every year. Stop the insanity! I buy used and just fix them and often get better quality. My mom buys new and still has to fix them. When will Toyota start making appliances?!?

      @@barnesjohn7657 Agreed...people don't look at it that way. Kenmore Clothes Dryer still running at 33 years. Kenmore Refrigerator still running at 32 years. Maytag Bravos washing machine dead at 6 years 4 months....Whirlpool dishwasher struggling as I type at 5 years 3 months and will be replaced soon because a repairman would cost too much so easier to research and replace.

    I need to baypass the prewasch in a front load wascomat , it is possible 125, It is a medium washing machine between the small ones and the large ones, I think 125. I knew that in the small washing machines you can remove a jumper on the timer electronic board of two jumpers that they have, one of the two when removing it eliminates the prewasch. Mine does not have jumpers on the electronic board of the timer. What I can do?

    Bosch has a new technology called "Crystal Dry" available as an option on some 800 series and Benchmark models. Could you please expalin how Crystal Dry differs from Bosch's conventional or Extra Dry system.

    • @synthesizerisking2886
      @synthesizerisking2886 3 роки тому +2

      The crystals are in some back area and the moisture is sucked into the crystals and the release of heat travels into the washer drying better on plastics, but I will not be buying those expensive units! A dish towel is cheaper drying option!😆😆😆😆

    After owning this dishwasher for six weeks and never having a completely clean wash, I can honestly say it is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned since the 1970's. We bought this on a recommendation and reviews, but it just fails to even wash tea cups - placed upside down on the top rack & not touching each other - what more can I do? Which leads me to another problem - the design of the top basket - what a disaster - it's not surprising when you watch a review; like this one and the top rack is lightly loaded - because that's all it will take. My recommendation on the purchase of this machine - buy an Asko.
    Bosch customer service is as good as nothing - all they are interested in is sending out a tech - Hopeless.

    Also , what is all this crap about savings? What are you saving if you have to run the dishwasher twice to get your dishes clean? Amazing how people are obsessively brainwashed with this notion. I want performance and savings. The only way it's possible is with an older appliance. I have compared my power bill beginning with the new appliance against the old ones and it's not even 30 cents worth of difference.thats another myth.we live on a place filled with water, it shouldn't be an issue. All these government regulations make life miserable for the business and consumer

      It's not 'crap' when you realise that by most credible estimates, only 3% of the water on this planet is freshwater - which is suitable for drinking and other valuable uses. The rest is almost all sea-water, and on doing the research one will eventually realise that it makes incontrovertible sense, to act (whenever choice is presented) so as to save the relatively little water which is far more useful to us, and far more valuable, than it might otherwise appear. Some say (see for example - www.nationalgeographic.org/media/earths-fresh-water/) that 99% of water is unusable by humans and other animals, due to its salt content etc., yet still, even if you think they're out by a few percentage points, saving does in fact make sense; and all the more so, to those who believe in sustainability for future generations, and not just ours. HTH

      I installed an efficient LG dishwasher about 10-years ago in my old house that had my dishes spotless without any issues. In my new house there's a Kenmore Elite dishwasher that's about 20-years old. Less efficient and doesn't clean the dishes worth a damn either.
      You see, it's not the amount of water, it's the implementation of the technologies. Some companies have figured it out, while others continue to build stone-age tools, which stone-aged-brained-people continue to buy. Toilets are a great example. I just bought some 1.x GPF toilets which flush 100x better than the 30+ year old toilets they replaced. It's not the volume of water... because they waste plenty, it's the implementation. Ironically, the old and new toilets are both Kohler, of the same style... and yet the new ones are worlds better while being more efficient.

    • @dougiequick1
      @dougiequick1 7 років тому +8

      A lot of this type comment are made off emotional reasoning with not much evidence at all ....People having been saying that SAME thing for years but my experience is IF you shop quality (meaning higher prices) AND check consumer reports and feedback ratings in the hundreds that are very high? You CAN still get quality long lasting appliances. Newer appliances also are typically MUCH MUCH more efficient than old ones ...and personally? EVEN if there is some truth in older appliances lasting longer sometimes? IF the additional energy costs wind up costing MORE after say 5 years than the appliance can even be replaced for? Well it becomes the classic no brainier that I am money ahead to replace a unit more often than to have some noisy old clunker that spins my electric meter like whirling dervish ....please note that I do NOT sell appliances, fix appliances nor am I invested IN appliance manufacturing in any way other than whatever I might happen to own in mutual funds like the total stock market that invests in a little bit in EVERY sector ...meaning it don't count...I have no personal agenda other than to help my fellow man to NOT rely on emotions and junk evidence to make buying decisions ...one HAS to do his or her OWN homework! Luckily today we have SO SO much information sitting right in front of us!!!
      My last dishwasher I bought over 16 years ago ....and other than a recall where they for free came to my home and replaced the door interlock switch (some had caught fire) the ONLY other issue we ever had was the main board control console which I replaced myself in like 20 minutes at a cost of around $100 ...and I THINK we caused that failure because I noticed the drawer that opened right in front of the dishwasher would hit exactly where the buttons failed on the console if the drawer was left slightly open and someone paid no attention ...I had teenagers, enough said ....so it is a little bit higher ended stainless steel interior unit ...my only gripe with it is the SAME gripe I have had with EVERY dishwasher, even ancient ones ...the racks rust! MAN I wish they would make THOSE out of stainless steel! What could THAT possibly add to the cost? $25 bucks extra? I'd pay $50 more in a heartbeat!
      So keep buying old appliances if you want to and try to convince yourself they are "better" ...all the arguments people have KEPT insisting on like that for decades and decades and decades? I personally have found to be bogus ...I love the one that goes like this "you can't fix any of the new stuff you just have to throw it away" Yeah RIGHT! I have so far never NOT been able to BUY and personally REPLACE parts in newer appliances ...actually it is the OLDER stuff they might not make parts for anymore and one might have to resort to used or pay premium for new old stock (supply and demand jacks prices) With amazon and ebay and youtube more people than every are fixing their OWN stuff ...you find out how on youtube and then go to amazon or ebay etc and find the best price on the part ...I just fixed my 10 year old refrigerator door for $7 including shipping ...the part was a spring for the door "mulllion" ....had I called some appliance repair guy who knows what he might have come up with if I was stupid? He might have tore apart all sorts of stuff and claimed all kinds of things and charged hundreds of dollars for all I know ...I think this often happens and THEN people complain how lousy the "newer" appliances are compared to the "better higher quality OLD ones" ...yeah the old refers did not have door mullions because they did not have dual half doors and the awesomeness OF that feature! They also wasted electricity like CRAZY so much so that you buy a new refrigerator every few years with money you are WASTING powering the old one! ....if that makes anyone feel like they are ahead??? ....the energy savings on new appliances can be simply dramatic!!

    • @calebproductions5970
      @calebproductions5970 7 років тому +7

      I am disagreeing with you vehemently! My statement comes from experience. Today's appliances are just not cost effective due to the little to no water restrictions put on them. It takes a "new" dishwasher almost 2 and a half hours to complete a load on normal wash. Also there is so much cheap plastic on these new appliances that no doubt make a profit for the ignorant consumer. Sir there is absolutely no way today's modern dishwashers will ever hold up to the kitchenaid kds series made by Hobart . An American company.i had a 2015 Amana stainless steel dishwasher and it had a drain pump which went out in 2 years and also the high temp setting went out in 3 months.. I have a 1975 whirlpool fridge also which is still running with no maintenance in the past 40 years.the manufacturing hub of today's appliances could care less about longevity or quality. Again , this is only one example and I speak from experience
