How long did it take? I’m my son’s payee and I’ve gotten 4 payments total now, 2 checks, and now they are being direct deposited. Got the paper and amount of backpay I’m supposed to get but I havnt seen a penny of it. Really don’t like calling SSI. I’m wondering how long it takes to get the SSI backpay after you get your first few benefits
My onset date was 5/2012. I was ripped off from getting a huge amount of back pay. By the time I was approved (2019) I was only paid for 18 months. I was heart broken because my onset date was documented all throughout my file. I walked away feeling cheated out of most of my back pay smh.
I want to thank Social Security Administration for giving me this money. I used it to put myself back into good health and to go to ITT Technical Institute for an Associate's and Bachelor's. I went on a scholarship for my B.S., too. Now I feel great, physically and mentally, with just a little bit of insomnia, not too serious.
Hi, Good morning, The appeals judge Reopened an old application for benefits............. I filed an application for SSDI in 2017 (Denied) I filed again in 2023 (denied) & appealed. Jan 2024 Approved (fully favorable) this totals to 79 months minus the 5 month waiting period. Will I get 79 months of back pay ? How would I even try to calculate this.....
Since Im getting SSI check ..doesn't that mean Im approved.? I'm still waiting for my 2nd Hearing. It's an Appeals Reconsideration Hearing. Have not received the Hearing DATE yet....hmmmm
I am to receive the rest of my back pay in September 2020. However, I just received more back pay because I moved and I am paying rent so my benefit amount increased. Will this push back my first backpay..?
I was told I qualify for childhood backpay since I've been disabled the whole time but didn't file until I was 18. How do I find out about that and get it?
I believe that Childhood disability eligibilty is partially determined by the household income. My child was not eligible until she turned 18 at which point eligibility was partially determined by her income-
I’ve gotten two installments of back pay my check after paying the lawyers is 18,323 $ the first two were 2520 I’m wondering will I get the rest in January
Ist the law firm takes there fees and then my long term disability wants to be paid back for the benefits they pay you on a policy you purchase. What a scam!
It's bullshit I'm going thru same shit I already paid 9k back pay to ltd now there wanting more for my kids back pay when they have nun to do with my policy
@lauracollins3451 and now this morning they tell me if I'm thinking of a lawsuit to doctors that left me paralyzed from waist down that I'd owe more to the policy if I get a lump sum from a lawsuit like wtf

My date I got sick was 2018, I applied in 2021 was denied and am still in reconsideration. From what date will I get back pay?
The date you applied, or whatever date they considered you disabled. My advice, get a disability attorney. Most cases win with 1.

He said the back pay start 5 months after your onset date. So they take 5/12 of your first year back pay?
Unfortunately, yes, they actually steal 5 months of your back pay.
