Ordered and received my trailer, Can't be happier, it will fit my needs and the customer service from Steve is AWESOME. Every question I had from original order request to the final product being delivered to my home was answered thoroughly so that even I could understand. GREAT JOB from START to FINISH!
I ordered mine straight from the manufacturer about a year ago and couldn't be happier it is just perfect for the wife and I. Thank you for sharing the video it is the first one I've seen about these teardrops.
@Michael Felfe : It's pretty much the same for whatever added features you add on their website: www.hikertrailers.com . They start at the basic trailer and you pick and choose your features. Their prices for features are pretty cheap, compared with most makers. It's kind of a status symbol to have all the finest features and appliances, but these guys are trying to hit as low a price point as they can manage. I think Hiker Trailer has put more thought into not getting bogged-down.
Thank you for reviewing these and doing a walk around. I've been on the manufacturers webpage and tried to track down a walk through. It does a bit more than just photos.
Great videos, you just earned yourself a new sub! I’m picking up my teardrop camper in NOVEMBER down in Florida, so I’ve been checking out everybody else’s setups for ideas. Great content & I like your setup a lot!
In regards to your bike rack I have one from MEC that unlocks and pivots away from let say a tail gate or hatch so really its not a problem if you only pick the right rack system for the bikes.
Awesome! Except I don't think having the electrical stuff under or next to a water source is a good idea nor safe! Maybe move all that to the other side away from sink!
These are truly great! But realistically, you will be stopping and staying over in some sub-optimal areas while traveling where you would not want to be towing something that will get some people overly excited about sticking you up or carjacking you for it. It is far too easy to move it, attach it quickly to another truck and be gone down the highway and into a remote backyard where it could be used without ever needing to go back out on to the road again. And I hope it is understood that the under the chassis tub storage on slides is not intended for use while driving on the road!
Mary, off roading. I believe you would slide it off and put it in the trailer during travel. The one light in the rear was plenty bright and didn't seem to attract to many bugs.
@@MWDAdventures : I heard that there are more amber-looking lights that don't attract bugs like some LEDs will. Totally makes sense to carry some things underneath on the Interstate.
I haven't seen anybody hit the same price point for the features offered. And if you have a tow vehicle that isn't going to be behind the semi's in the slow lane on every single pimple of a hill, there's really no reason to waste money on high-dollar composites or aluminum chassis. These are tiny trailers that you'll barely notice you're pulling, unless you drive a Prius. You can armor-plate them, and you'd scarcely notice any difference.
15 grand lol. Way better trailers out there for that kind of money. It looks like it was made by a 5 year old. Woodworking and finish is horrible at best. Nothing matches and square cut aluminum for trim? I’d hate to see it in person...
If anyone is interested in the Oregon area from Eugene to Portland, I don't have the top end model, , but I do have one I will be willing to show you, for a "hands on feel".
Too many options for my taste, a lot of things you can get as standard equipment on other trailers. Also the trim and finish parts seem to be scraps just put together not very good craftsmanship.
IDC about the trim, as long as the thing's water-tight. But in these trailers, unlike your other RVs, many or most of your customers are coming to the marriage with a lot of baggage, for instance, I'm fine with my existing camping gear, so a cook stove is something I don't want to have to buy all over again. The basic concept of the teardrop is a bed inside a hard-wall compartment. But yeah, you could get a late-model used Rockwood HighWall popup tent trailer (HW 276 or HW 277) for around $10,000, and it comes with a shower, toilet, blackwater tank, heater, air conditioner... But it's not built to take much of a beating.
You gave me some great ideas, I am building my own teardrop camper and one for a friend. Thank you for a great video I have to sub you and feel free to look at my build
The fit and finish on this thing is atrocious!!! The sealant sticking out around the exterior light and along the roof line above it is ridiculous.. Cable management from a 1990s LAN.. And they want $15k for it, with almost everything as an optional extra? This trailer makes me feel like an American teenage girl, because I literally can't even.
Matt, new subscriber. We loved the reviews. Question, where can I find the extended awning at? I really liked that. We are looking for a camper and we really like this. Check our channel if you will a come join our family. Than kim s nan, look forward to following yall.
If you really look, these trailer have shotty woodwork at best. The wood works looks scabbed together. They are definitely not wood workers although I like the overall design.
Thanks a lot for making this Matt! Something I've really been needing! I've already linked to it from my websites and my Facebook page (facebook.com/ExtremeTears/)
Just ordered our Hiker today ( Sept 30 2024 ) and after seeing this video I’m sure glad I got a Hiker 😄

Do you still like the camper? Any issues?
Steve you bought 5x9 xtr
I ordered mine straight from the manufacturer about a year ago and couldn't be happier it is just perfect for the wife and I. Thank you for sharing the video it is the first one I've seen about these teardrops.
@Michael Felfe no I didn't get any discount.

You own a Hiker Trailer.
Great videos, you just earned yourself a new sub! I’m picking up my teardrop camper in NOVEMBER down in Florida, so I’ve been checking out everybody else’s setups for ideas. Great content & I like your setup a lot!
What made you decide to go with the Hiker instead?
Is having wheels on this ting an 'option' to?
In regards to your bike rack I have one from MEC that unlocks and pivots away from let say a tail gate or hatch so really its not a problem if you only pick the right rack system for the bikes.
PixCreative Labs cool. Thanks for sharing.
this model has a roof rack. Why not put the bikes on it?
Go to extremetears.com and email steve for pricing. Located in Charlevoix MI.
Awesome! Except I don't think having the electrical stuff under or next to a water source is a good idea nor safe! Maybe move all that to the other side away from sink!
Maybe I missed it. What are the walls are roof made of?
Wood interior. Aluminum skinned outside.
Not sure an inverter directly below a drain is the best of ideas.
Were you able to get your groove on in there?
Does he get used ones trade ins or a last year model cheaper ?? Just wondering?
Ricardo Estrada he does sell the current rentals at the end of the year.
Why did you end up choosing the hiker trailer over this one?
We liked the more square design. With the square design the back galley does not eat into your sleeping area.
Very nice, thx for sharing. How can I buy from Turkey ?
Contact the makers: colorado@hikertrailers.com is my contact.
$15K?? Estas loco!! Now if it was all made out of aluminum no wood maybe $8-10K loaded.
Beautiful trailer well made and looks great.

HappyQuails yes you are correct on the tubs. We placed them in the trailer going down the road then slide them under the trailer when we got there.
Nice and congratulations!
Why do you like hiker over xtr love your contents
The build quality is better in our opinion.
Nice video
I'm not crazy about the water tank and the Inverter in the same location. Other than that, nice trailer.
Very nice, well done, Thank You for sharing :)
Only 1 light in the kitchen area that’s a bit crap. That bin underneath would get trashed off roading

how much for sale
Hussain Saeed Al zaabi you will have to check there website for pricing.
Hi. how much does one cost? and where they are located. I liked this model .. thanks.
Cuba Monier you can look em up on facebook. They're Vintage Trailer Works out of Alabama.
This model was around 15,000. Steve was looking to sell his rental units if you are interested.
That hitch is NOT suitable for off-roading
correct. Not for moab or MT. I use it for gravel state forest roads and little to no hills. Extreme model is the off road version.
low quality materials and very cheap construction but asking for big price just because they want to become rich sellers

You'll probably still have some sway with the bikes on top.

looks like a cheap expensive version of the mink
Somebody hand that Buckaroo a microphone!!
I see pot pipe at 11:40.
Lol. No pot pipe I can assure you.
The aluminum trim on the inside looks bad.

That power strip looks ghetto
If you really look, these trailer have shotty woodwork at best. The wood works looks scabbed together. They are definitely not wood workers although I like the overall design.
Tupperware on a Harbor Freight trailer for $10k. Eww Eee!
Well Done folks!
In indonesia there is notinhig like this wehen in indonesia maniy like to place torism
Spread the word. I bet it'd become a cottage industry, there, as it is, here.
Jesus!!!! Is anything not “an option”?
nice..
Thanks a lot for making this Matt! Something I've really been needing! I've already linked to it from my websites and my Facebook page (facebook.com/ExtremeTears/)
Electricity and water are not a good neighbor I think.
Then how do electric pumps exist?
And that’s an option...
It looking like made cheep. i see better tear drop trailers.
