a lot of LA lowrider clubs were born in gang neighborhoods. Majestics, Imperials, Dukes all had heavy neighborhood relations and Ogs have been their presidents and founders. These cultures always have a shared soul no matter how far it grows past the neighborhoods or how many people take on the look. If i were an Italian i would say 'this thing of ours'

Mans skipped the part to fully build a nice lowrider takes 12k... and a 58 impala is not the first to go all impalas are rust or your gonna pay more than a setup would cost just cause the name impala.. grab you a Lincoln towncar, Buick Regal, Monte Carlo, cutlass. Those are nice starters... also any real lowrider knows you have to reinforce the frame regardless if it’s x or not. Your frame will twist and bend of you dent take care of it

My dad actually comes from the low rider scene and I grew up loving them. Literally one of the coolest cars to exist. He used to have technically a mini truck but that’s a whole scene stemming from the low rider scene. That’d be a cool episode to see too. But he actually had a nissan hardbody when they were new and his was decked out completely from a huge sound system to custom paint and wheels and interior and he said it was actually pretty quick for what it was with all that.

I’m from Albuquerque and the low rider community keeps the city some what peaceful. It allows a bunch of different people that might not like each other to come together and have a good time
owning and driving a lowrider is a money pit for either show or lay and play constantly changing decks stopping to bleed pumps and hoses bursting alot of learning and fixing

Although im a mainly jdm guy, my dad was into lowriders when i was younger. Those cars got me into car culture as a teen and were the shit here (in the 2000's). Low riders were a big deal in so-cal back in the day. Im glad you guys in wisconson can appreciate builds like this. Its a huge culture thing here in so cal for mexican americans. Growing up in the OC area, I've grown around seeing lots of lowriders and the culture. Never really got involved in it until my dad purchased a project van and my brother started to work on it. Now, not only do I go to tuner park & chills I also go to cruises with my brother and his friends. The community is welcoming, they may look intimidating but they are some of the most down to earth people. And yes, I'm a Chicano 🇲🇽
Lowriders and mini trucks, the only modern groups that pay attention to detail and not follow the unwritten rules of Instagram car "enthusiasts". No other groups have the family that lowriders and mini trucks have.

I built my first Lowrider been working on it for 3 going on 4 years I have a 87 el Camino, Indian silver metallic, I have a two pump set up for lay and play and 13 inch 72 cross lase spokes with the brand new whitewalls. Lowrider will save your life.
OG lowrider here. Bill Hines was the godfather of hydraulics back in the late 50s. Look him up. The lore of where lowriding came from is partly a myth. Lowriders were birthed from the traditional kustoms of the 50s and 60s. George Barris, Larry Watson, Bill Hines, Alan Duke. The quintessential lowrider style of paint in the 70s and 80s came from what these guys were doing in the 50s and 60s. You won't find any pictures or documentation showing that these guys weren't the first to do it.

Lowriders were birthed from the traditional kustoms of the 50s and 60s. George Barris, Larry Watson, Bill Hines, Alan Duke. The quintessential lowrider style of paint in the 70s and 80s came from what these guys were doing in the 50s and 60s. You won't find any pictures or documentation showing that these guys weren't the first to do it.

Gypsy Rose is just an unbelievably gorgeous car, I don't know why more lowriders don't run cragars
@C K debatable, Dayton's are a nice wheel but variation is nice, have a look at Gypsy Rose, the cragars are just timeless, they really capture lowriding of the 70's
I have always loved that car! The cragars are perfect on it. Astro Supremes also look great on the old school stuff
