    Hi Helen. I am John Hill, abloke at the tender age of 77,and I have just returned to knitting an chrocheting after 40 years. i uesed to think i was good back in the day but having seen todays standards i have revised my opinion of myself. and I have to say that your work is as good as i have seen your designs and video cal are outstanding. please don't stop.

    I've just taken up crochet again after about 48 years LOL I've been looked at the pictures of Sweet Caroline that others on your Facebook pages and thought that it would be too difficult for me but after watching your brilliant tutorial I'm going to have a go.     Just finished the first 13 rounds. It's so pretty the thickness as the rows are added are beautiful. I plan on making many more. Will you be doing more of these? I have looked for more ? I put a request for joining your face book page but have not been accepted yet.

      yes you can keep going to make it bigger, or make more squares to join together

    What size hook?

      depends on the yarn you are using, it will give a recommended size on the ball band :)

    What size hook please

      always start with the hook size recommended on the yarn ball band, make a small sample square and it you need to then adjust the hook size up or down to suit tension

      I am English but always work with US terms, so all of my video tutorials are in US terms

    On several of the crochet groups I belong to on FB I have seen heartbreaking posts with photos of afghans that have come apart where the magic circle was used. Your videos are wonderful but could you please spare some time to emphasize the importance of sewing that magic circle closed and really secure so these works of art can survive being washed and used. Too many beginners to crochet and/or magic circle are not getting this important step in their instruction. thank you!

      I do in my video tutorial for the magic ring, and as I say on that, the essential part is to fasten it correctly :)
