Are you a fan of the Inital D style of builds? What American car would you like to see in this style? Or is this just too far out there to even think about?
I was thinking about this too! I like to imagine Keisuke having a yellow C5 corvette and Ryosuke having a white C4 corvette. Maybe Takumi drives a ford mustang foxbody hatchback?
@elliot Faux @bandwagon240 some great ideas for sure. I have a C7.r Revell kit sitting around that I have been reluctant to build because I really want to get a basic C7 interior for it and build it more like a street car than the race version. I love the C7 widebody on the race car! The older vettes would be pretty cool with this more modern widebody treatment for sure.
Thanks mate, I appreciate the comment. I was impressed with the engine detail but some of the hoses were pretty hard to get exactly in the right spot. I can't even imagine the engineering needed to get all of this to work exactly right for every build so I was happy with how it did all fit for the most part. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! I found it to be an odd kit but looks pretty cool and even more so if you update it a little. I would love to see more of these interesting kits built.
@@ScaleAutoGarage when I get around to building one I plan on tossing the AMT Taurus SHO V6 into the Probe. Again great work, looking forward to more like this!
Pretty cool build! I have that kit as well as the other stock ones and never really gave that IMSA version much credit but after seeing your build, I think I'll give it a try! What wheels and tires did you add to the Probe?
The kit came with BBS rims but I thought they were a little small for the look I was going for. I used a set of Aoshima BBS rims I got from the Skyline DR30 I built earlier in the year. The tires were just from my parts box and not sure exactly where they came from. Pretty sure they are also Aoshima. I kind of regret not cutting out all the interesting holes in the fenders and the grill. If I was going to do this again, I would want to do that just to add a little detail to the car. Honest, this was one of my favorite builds for this year. I have a few more 'What if Inital D happened in America' builds planned.
I was a big fan of these IMSA Car Models in the mid 1990's! The Mustang and Prope were my favorite. Is that the TESTORS "Colors by Boyd Coddington" Chezoom Yellow that you used?
I didn't realize there were others! I am going to have to be on the lookout for them and pick them up. Great fun to build this one and if others are as interesting, they will be great builds as well. The yellow I used was Vallejo model air yellow 71002. I find it is a little more bright yellow than Tamiya's X-8.
I was a little hesitant when you said you were building a probe. This model rocks! Nice colors, it fits the car well. Great video Spencer, looking forward to the next one.
Ha for sure, I hear you. I have had this kit sitting on my shelf for a few years now always thinking it was kind of an odd one. After I built the Inital D RX7, I kind of saw this one in a different light. Some bigger wheels, a big spoiler, carbon fiber hood, and wow did it change the overall look of it.

Foxbody Mustang, 3rd Generation Camaro, C4 Corvette would all be cool.

@@elliotfaux6336 it would be Ken, Ryan and Taylor 😂

Damm Spencer she's absolutely gorgeous and I love the engine detail!

The painting section always blows my mind. Also the engine details are well-made. Great build.
Thanks. Some of the hoses were a little tough to get in there and fit right but overall, it is a pretty cool little turbo 4 cylinder.
Fond memories of that kit. You did a Great job of it!!! Nicely Done!!! Thanks for sharing
Thank you. It was a lot more fun to build than anticipated. Glad you enjoyed it.
That is a beautiful build. I love the way the wide body kits look. Ron
Thanks! Yeah I am a big fan of how this turned out as well and the way it alters the look of the probe by quite a lot! Thanks for watching.
another stellar build Sir !!! ... however you took this AMT kit build to levels that one would achieve from the Japanese kit manufacturers
Thanks man, this was a ton of fun and I really like how it turned out, even if it is a Ford Probe. Haha.
Very nice! Must have this kit, looks fantastic!
Thanks so much. I got the kit originally in a group buy for some other things but ends up this may have been my favorite of the bunch.
Yes! Awesome work! Live the style and such a great kit to build 👍 Great choice building the Probe. It was fun to see!

Ah good call on the V6. That would work out nicely. Never done a Taurus kit. A wagon would be pretty fun to do.
@@ScaleAutoGarage I thought about a Taurus wagon too, but the last one I saw (body + interior) went for $90. I decided to pass at that price 😆
This was a really cool build! What a fun idea for that project! Thanx for the video.
Glad you like! I have a couple other what if type of projects I want to do in the near future.
@@ScaleAutoGarage as do I……
