I agree with the other comments. THANKS so much for showing how to do this block without the trim tool! Your instructions and the video were clear and understandable.
I have never ventured to make this particular block; but after seeing you video, I just might. Doing a couple a month sounds like an excellent plan. 🇨🇦
Thank you so much for showing an alternative method for this block. I have the ruler, but have still felt a bit intimidated about beginning the blocks, and this gives me another way to make the block.
Thank you for showing how to do this without the ruler. I’d quite like to do some pineapple blocks but don’t really want to buy another ruler at the moment. They are not cheap and if the fabric/design I have in mind doesn’t look the way I’m hoping I’ll not be doing the quilt. This way I can try it out then decide if I want to buy the ruler.
I’ve tried several times to make this block without the trim tool but it never seems to come out square. I’m careful with my quarter inch, evidently my problems arises during pressing, since there are bias edges. I may give it another go and disappoint myself yet again. 😂 Thank you for this tutorial, your blocks came out beautifully. If you have made a pineapple quilt, I’d love to see it. I really enjoy your videos.
Your block with 1 1/2” strips finished at 8”. What is finished size if using 2” strips.? Thank you for this video, my friend and I are making these together, there is a learning curve.
To do the maths add an extra half inch to each round (as the strips are half inch bigger), so if you left the centre square the same size, on six rounds that would increase the block by 3 inches - so it should come out at 11 inches. We hope this helps. Happy sewing!
I've been making these blocks with the trim tool and it already has a big gash in one side of the ruler. It is not very easy to use the lines on the ruler as they really don't line up very well with the seam lines on the block. Not very impressed with this expensive ruler. Thanks for showing how to get the same result without it.
Love the block, but this is confusing to me. Hard for me to zero in on what exactly she is measuring. It is not clear to me what is going on. Not something I would make. I am retired. Quilting is a hobby. I don't need it to be a job, and this would be a job.
Thank you for showing this. Sometimes we think we need to have EVERY ruler out there.

Thank you for showing how to make this block. Your scrappy pineapple quilt is going to be beautiful

Thank you for demonstrating this. Tricky but doable and a good project for scraps. 👏
Great tutorial, will be trying that for sure ❤❤.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate you showing us this without the ruler.

Thanks for explaining. I find this easier to comprehend than the Trim Tool.
Thanks for doing this! I love it.
Thank u from another South African. I battle with this

Thank you for this tutorials this is GREAT greetings from Switzerland
❤ always enjoyable.
Another great tutorial. It is also possible to make the Pineapple block without using a special ruler by Foundation Paper Piecing.
Thanks for this demonstration. Are there not foundation paper piecing templates for this block? If not, there should be for ruler challenged quilters!

Same here.
Love how you explain the process. Also here in Italy it is insane how expensive the ruler is.The blocks are beautiful 😍
Could you make it with 2 1/2” strips? And if you do would the center square need to be 5”?
Me again. Just so you know, I do enjoy the videos. My comment sounded pretty negative.

What is a trim tool?

Not helpful. Some of us have “old eyes”! Would of been good to actually point out the 45 degree angles, and close ups throughout the whole block.
