    That GP-- from 35 is what I learned to plow with. That was about 60-61, I was 10 at the time. In 76 a neighbor sold out he had a 25 mod D it sold for $ 900 new it was 925, the man that sold it was there at the sale, he sold it then.

    Thanks for another great video Kip.
    It was interesting and enjoyable to watch.
    Nice of you to let your son ride along. Good for him to become familiar with farming operations and see what you are doing. You are a good dad Kip. Makes Grant feel like he is helping and spend time with dad. Very nice Grant and dad.
    Your new air reel headed for your combine is looking good. Sounds like it was a good purchase. Most everyone is using the air reel now. That was a needed upgrade for your operation. Know you will really like it.
    Your hay is looking good that up you are raking now. Should make real nice bales for your cows.
    Busy time with lots going on for you right now. Nice of you and your dad to take the girls along to get the new header and see the old tractors they had. Neat old tractors they had and started them for your girls to see. Neat old machines.
    About it I guess. Thanks for everything Kip.
    Take care and be safe.
    The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

    I can vividly remember riding with my dad on his 1946 Farmall H while cultivating corn and beans in the 1950s. Those were good times and I miss him every day. I am pleased to see the father-son bond you have with Grant. Take care and be safe out there.

    Another awesome video Kip. You taking your young lad with you! that is what my Grandfather used to do with me as He and Grandmother
    raised me and I am sure glad that they did as it taught me so much growing up on a farm. Your young lad will have memory for ever.

    The air reel, you should see a little bump on the yield on the beans. I think studies used to say over 2 bushels per acres on an auger head. The small grain could be debatable.

    Wondering if you guys ever thought about getting a selfproplelled mower instead of have the tractors around for just mowing?

    • @KipSieglerFarming1
      @KipSieglerFarming1  18 днів тому +2

    Kinda off topic. But my wife mentioned to me today about using stone in the yard instead of mulch and I know you have this lol. I have a few questions tho. Do we just get rid of the mulch and add stone. Or did you put some kinda cloth down first? And do you just spay it if weeds or grass grows?

    • @KipSieglerFarming1
      @KipSieglerFarming1  18 днів тому +2

      Yes get some fabric is best then stone and you just spray a couple times a year. I like the stone it’s pretty much one and done

    • @aaronbeisch4707
      @aaronbeisch4707 18 днів тому

      I'm with Kip, I'd recommend putting some type of fabric or plastic down first before you do the washed rock. Depending on the length you need, possibly talk with your local conversation district. They might have an extra roll or two that they use when planting trees.

      Seems to me that they find good deals on equipment that fits their operation. I don't think they're trying to be bigger or better than anyone else. They bought that header from a farm that was upgrading themselves.

    You need to be more careful of showing Grant in tractor, the wrong person is going to see your videos and DYFS is going to be on your front steps with braclets for you. My best friend went jail for taking his son in cab tractor
