Hey. Do you put the bones only in the inside fabric? (not the fashion fabric) cause I couldn't understand. I want to make a corset but I can't quite understand.

I plan on making a corset purely for comfort (tired of bras being so painful), will the zip ties be enough support for long periods of time and daily use?

I'd really love to make one for myself but the links for the foundations revealed website aren't working T^T even the links on Google send me to an error page. I was wondering if there were any other resources available I can use instead of those. Great vid btw!!

Can someone answer a question of mine? I am confused! Does Rebeka first made the bonning channels and then sew the two parts together and put the bonning or she made bonning channels in the first layer and then made more in the second layer? Thank you!
Hi, I made them in both layers to have options to add more boning. I believe I made the boning channels from seam allowances go in opposite directions so they wouldn't overlaps
Great video, This is exactly what I'm looking for! I just have one question, What did you use as the laces in the back? It looks sort of like yarn but I'm not sure if it is... would ribbon work?
Thanks! I use a doubled yarn haha. Ribbons are much prettier but can slide about if they're made from polyester. I think a fine grosgrain might be pretty
This looks amazing! Can you tell me how wide those zipties are? I can only find zipties that are 4,8mm ( about 1/5 inch) and I'm afraid those are too small
Hi, mine are about that width too. You can create more boning channels to put them side by side. I don't think the width matters as much as the correct length. If they are too thin, you may be able to put two zipties in each boning channel as well! Happy sewing!
Hii rebekah..just saw your tutorial...it’s amazing...but can you please tell how did you join the linings together..it’s getting little difficult to understand that..thanks
Hi, I sewed the second and third lining as one piece. Then I sewed the front and back pieces together inside out on two seams, flipped them, then folded the front piece over the back piece. 😉 I think I'm not making much sense here though. Does this help?
Would it be fine to use a silky fabric for the fashion layer? I know it would be pretty, but i’m not sure if that type of fabric would fray too easily.
Hi! I'm currently making stays with a fabric like that. Zigzag scissors can help to reduce the fraying somewhat, or perhaps the product (I can't remember what it's called) that you apply to prevent fraying.
Do you think this would be possible to hand sew? My sewing machine takes too much power for my current living situation so I've been hand sewing everything I make and I've made whole skirts and gloves and shirts so I don't think this is too big of a jump but I want to ask your opinion?
Hi! I definitely believe it's possible. It might take a little more time, but if you join 19th century or historical sewing groups, there are lots of folks who have hand-sewn corsets or stays. I imagine the zip section might be tricky, but you can try front and back lacing instead?
I've had a strange week of consuming as much sewing and corsetry videos as possible. It's inspired me to learn to sew and I hope soon I will be able to attempt this!

@@rebekahmui Thank you so much for answering my question! Also, thank you for the video, you're awesome!!
@@rebekahmui Thank you!

@@rebekahmui thank you!
Thank you so much.
You're welcome 😊
Thank youu... May I ask the names of the tools for making the holes and stuff?
Hi! You can use an awl
@@rebekahmui okay okay.. But may I ask the name of the ones with the hammer and stuff..
@@zhianrishun5531 ah! These are two part eyelets and eyelet tools
@@rebekahmui oohwww.. oki oki .. I tried searching for it.. All that shows up are eyelids🤧.. Thank youu❤️❤️❤️
@@zhianrishun5531 oh dear! if you check out craft stores, they should have them. The eyelets should be two part
Rebekah's Random Adventures Thanks!! I’ve been needing to buy some zigzag scissors, anyways.
