So much good advises. Thank you 🙏! I would underline the fact that according to the type of fusion we got, a lot of exercises wouldn’t be advised. Once the sacrum is part of the fusion, when having 5 elements fused, the sacro iliaque joints will have to “handle” huge….huuuuge leverage.
i have The first few times I skateboarded I ended up with back pain but it was my fault for overextending myself. Then I started with small extensions and now I'm almost reaching full extension about 5 or 6 times per set (3 sets) (some days when I'm too tired I only do one set of 2 or 3 reps). I don't have a bench so I do it by resting my hand on the table. I use very little weight 8kg about 10 reps or 12. Is it ok to do bench press with dumbells instead of the barbell ? and of course on the floor :D .
Hi, how soon can I start doing exercise after onelevel fusion? L3/L4 And If you could give me a rough time frame on when can to start running? And I believe all these exercises are helpfull for get back to running and swimming? Thank you.
I had a spinal fusion, L1-2, a year or more ago, and I have not seen any mention of doing crunches for abs, or reverse situps for your lower back. I have a machine that I lean on, lock my ankles in place, and I bend forward, my head going towards the floor. This is for strengthening lower back muscles. Is this OK? I try to keep my back straight, and do not hyperextend my back during the upward motion.
Go see a physiotherapist. They know what is safe. I am 14 wks post op ALIF L4 - S1 and do strength training 2 times a week now. Saw the surgeon 2 days ago and everything is great, just no twisting and lifting at the same time.
No way I'm bench pressing Anything. I'm 41 and just had level 1 spinal fusion on September 19th 2022. I've already been doing a lot of these stretches/workouts you've showed. Appreciate the videos brother..💪💯
I feel your pain bro l4 l5 with compressed l5 nerves failed epidurals ..pain is thru the roof but i just cnanot stop lifting ive lifted 30 years until trying to be clever lifting stupid weight deads and squats snapped my sht up ..fear is bad atm pain is sick off the charts but i relay need to osuh thru it and lift or my life is over ..sounds stupid but if you know you know
