Awesome video. Thank you. Little Pro tip. Opening break fluid container makes collapsing the caliper crazy easy. Also taking the impact to the axle nut, but with the wheel on and on the ground also makes it so much easier to get the nut broken.
Thanks for the video. It helped me greatly. I did the passenger side but the procedures were the same. Thanks for providing the torque specifications. I would have been lost without your guidance. Keep up the good work.
thanks for taking the time to help us with are repairs i really enjoyed the class hey just a friendly fyi to let beginners know that they need to open the brake reservoir so they can release the pressure and to make sure the brake fluid doesn't get on anything which will cause a lot of headache
Hey thank you! I'm getting ready to do this right now. Ignore those rude ass comments. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to make a youtube video. I appreciate it!
When you pulled the cv axle out what was that liquid that came out? Was that transmission fluid? Asking because I just had mind replaced and when I got home the next day I had a stain in my driveway.
I admire your determination working on your own vehicle. If I may make a few suggestions on the brake procedure... Remove the rust from the hub before installing the new rotor; this reduces runout. Also remove the clips and remove any rust with a file. The pads will fit too tight otherwise. Well done!
Has anybody done the passenger side for an 05 1.8L? For the A/T model, the service manual says something about inserting a screwdriver in a slot and striking it. I wonder if that means from the removed drivers side cavity, I can't figure it out (p 14 in FAX of manual). For driver side, just pry off the axel carefully. Thanks for the video, best wishes!
@@TheOfficialLBG I wedged a medium pry bar in there and it popped out, pretty easy like the drivers side. I had to pry it at a weird angle, but it worked (I think that instead of prying outward toward the wheel, I pried inward). Harbor Freight makes a set of three pry bars that have a handle and a crooked tip that is kind of flat -that's what I used. I was surprised to see that the seal was depressed in the transmission quite a bit (on the drivers side it was flush to the housing), and I was worried that I pushed it in somehow, but several months later all is well.
Got the swap done, Thanx for the reply! mine did not lose any Gear oil odly, its an automatic. But after replacing the passenger Cv axle less than 100 miles its going bad again. any idea what could be causing this? i cant figure it out
Great video yo also I drive a 06 sentra s 1.8 and replacing cv axle pass side you said torque specs on axle nut is 150? I wonder it it's all the same 02 and 06 models torque specs thanks bro.
next time just resurface the old rotor..its cheaper, also use brake cleaner on a new rotor,,its covered with anti rust grease, when removing the carter pin use side cutters and use leverage and removing bolts with a hammer put the nut back on the end so u dont smash the treads, when removing axle, disconnect the steering rod
Actual repair starts at 1:30 :)

Thanks for the tip, I feel silly I didn't know this already lol

Isn’t the gear oil just transmission fluid? Can’t you just top off the fluid by filling it up via the transmission dip stick hole for automatics?
I glued my ac temp wire down to the spot it Brooke from and it’s 2 years later working great

+Steven Eubanks Good point, thanks for the advice!
Hey pekker head don't beat on the lugs s you put hub back on put the lugs back on a few threads or use a rubber hammer.
I used JB weld glue to fix that cable instead of just ordering the piece and it's still holding to this day 3 years later
Is it bad to just stick the c-clamp head inside the brake caliper?
Hey thank you! I'm getting ready to do this right now.

Yo-
Thanx so much for taking the time to record and upload this...
This video of yours helped IMMENSELY 😆🤘
I came here for the axle repair and told me what was wrong with my ac lol thank you 🙏

I just got an axle for my 00 sentra se. Passenger side. And it doesn't have that ring Clip at the end.!! Did I got the wrong axle???
you can also use the old brake pad to press down the piston with the C-clamp 👍
good for you.....and for my too. nobody born with knowledge, he is learning like a future ASE mechanic. thank you!!!
How would it be possible for me to get a set of manual spec v axel would love to receive a link if u know of any am all the way in Jamaica
Hey bro how much gear oil do I add when I change it out ! Get back soon please

what is the liquid comes down at 10:24 and how did you refill it?
Gear oil.
You should top it off
what did you do about the loss of transmission oil? did you fill it back up? or was it too minimal to worry about?
How did u fix your heat problem. I have that same problem also.
Take out the switch and I used a zip tie to hold the cable in place.
Is this the 2.0. If not is it the same process?
SE 2.0, yes
I had that same problem with the cable on the ac flat..it was stuck open. So my car was cooling external air..never really got cold..
Why didn’t u put the lug nuts on when beating the hub it would have protected the studs
where did ya get the axle?
is the axle still good? where u get it from as well
My axle doesn’t push in all the way, it leaves a portion sticking out it. Can I send you pic via email or something

What did you end up doing it get the passenger side axel off?

did you have to replace all that lost gear oil? if so how/where did you add it?
+Marcus Meade I did and the fill bolt is on the top and driver's side of the transaxle, there should be a thread out there on it

This was helpful, appreciate it man!
i remove the little rubber thing that goes on one of the pins it makes it much better.
You seriously need to watch more car videos you are truly still green behind the ears
Please explain why you would think he did not do a decent job
😀 thank you

Get brembos. 😉
@2:06 No wonder you couldn't take the bottom bolt off you were tightening it instead of loosening it. 🤣
Your Ryobi not power to remove the axle nut. 😂
So jelly of that bumper. my 2006 S just doesn't have that swag
06 with Nismo lip looks better imo
you handle that impact like 2 gays petting a kitten....fucking send it!! (15 year diesel tech here)
what get to it . to much all adds.
Ryobi is not the best brand you get what you paid for
dont ever make a video again
wtf why, this was pretty well done- especially for a DIY job
