In the past I've had a mechanic friend help(more so do it all while I ferry tools and/or hold a light) do my brakes and such. With this video I got it done mostly without issue. I did have a slight problem where my pads were so worn, a piston was extended enough that the adapter tool couldn't sit well enough at first. I had to do a couple turns by hand and then I was able to use the adapter to drive it the rest of the way. Thank you for sharing this, I'd be stuck without it.
I’ve been wrenching for 49 years. I have to replace a set of rotors and pads on a Sentra tomorrow. This was a great video. Good comment below to remind folks to clean the new rotors with brake cleaner (which you did off camera). Be safe my friend.
good video bro. I just purchased an 04 ser spec v... first time ever changing a brake without a c clamp... the clockwise turn of the brake piston still blows my mind. however there are always shortcuts when doing this stuff... you dont have to take off that third bold and you only have to loosen 1 of the caliper bolts take one out completely then the caliper will flip down... little help for later maybe... thx for video bro
oh I have an 07 Xterra 4wD too. I like my Nissans even tho they piss me you ff mechanicly sometimes... lol what all have you d done to the motor so far?
I feel you there, bro. Just a Precat deleted stock header, Megan racing catless downpipe, catback exhaust, and intake for now. There's definitely more planned for the future.
I was trying to replace the rear brake pads on my friend's 2001 Sentra SE 2.0, but the piston just wouldn't compress. I have the disk brake caliper compressing kit and it wouldn't turn the piston and the rubber boot twist with the piston. I saw you had a hard time turning the piston also, got any tips? I couldn't turn it for more than about a 1/4 turn and it's stuck.
+The3GMom Then your caliper might be jammed, either it needs some good lubrication or replacement. If you're up in the Northeast it wouldn't surprise me if it was rust causing it. Also if your rear pads were relatively new before you replaced them then they wouldn't need to screw down much to hit the limiter.
Actual repair starts at 3:04 :)

Did you use the same rotor set up from the front, on the back to switch them?
Is there another way besides that cube?
i compressed the piston all the way and there still wasnt enough room to get on the pads

+A H Thanks for the feedback! Good to know that there are still other specs out there on the road.

Can u use a different wrench instead of that custom tool or do I have to buy it

Use a c clamp
Good Job my friend. is very helpful
What year the vehicle ????????????????????????????????
What about bleeding the brakes?
7:26 or use just a normal c clamp to press the middle of the caliper, you should not need special tools
Very informative, yet if your Sentra has rear drum like mine, it's IMPOSSIBLE to upgrade drums to discs (I know, I've looked...) :-P
www.tdmimports.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=80
go get some discs
What year is that sentra?
Alas, my Sent is a 2012 model and CANNOT be retrofitted w/ discers *sigh*
Thank you, very helpful.
can't screw down the pisten even with the cube tool.

The3GMom I always use a ''C'' clamp to push down the piston
@@charleskisling7206 C clamp worked better then?
Is the C clamp still an option for this instead the cube ?
C clamp will damage the piston@@z34fazer
ooh bones
