- Brittany Force made the fastest run in Top Fuel history and reset the national speed record to 338.48 mph in her Flav-R-Pac dragster in the opening round of the NHRA Midwest Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Yeah it was cool, I was at that race. Actually it was my first NHRA race I've seen in person, and damn if it wasn't cool seeing the record broke.

I have watched "The Old Man" set MANY records with my late father (as of September 2022).... May the Force Family continue to set many records!!!! I still remember the "Oldschool body" designs.... And the "Old Man's" bloodline can't be topped!!!!

She did this in the daytime when conditions aren't as good as evening when the temps are lower and the cars make more power/speed. Congrats Brittany!!! Keep filling the record books.

They were hitting 3-4 seconds in the 70s. Are you 80+ years old?
@@carlospacheco8640The first 4 second pass was 1988. No one was running 3's or 4's in the 70's on a full track and almost nobody was recording 1000ft times, to compare with today's times.

Out of interest, what does the driver do in a race that lasts 3-seconds and goes in a straight line? Am I wrong in assuming that the majority of the win is really down to the team behind the vehicle?
What an absolutely amazing day of racing a couple of tragedies aside The weather was amazing The track was amazing The drag racing was amazing you couldn't ask for more today thank you to the NHRA and worldwide technology raceway and all the other groups that were involved in putting on this show. I didn't see one disappointed fan I didn't meet a couple of new ones though.

Saw it live this morning, incredibly clean run, a little side to side, no shake, no spin, WOW. Hight and BForce, two fastest ever. But in the interview after the run, she was just like "K, gotta go prep for the next round. Need to focus on winning today." Not exactly her dad in an interview...

I had a sponsorship viewing pass/VIP pass as well, sweet, I got to meet Tony Stewart, Matt Hagen and got a fist pump from John Force
339 for Robert Hight and Ron Capps. Not quite the fastest pass, but in the club. Years ago Cruz Pedregon had a stuck throttle waaay out past the old 1320ft. They guessed about 340-350 before Kaboom!!.

Tech. has come a long way and many of the tracks shutdown area cannot be expanded so they had to shorten the runs to one thousand feet, or they would be going to fast to get stopped. Plus with the power they are making the drivers probably could not control them at much faster speeds. Top fuel are the only classes not running a full quarter mile. All others classes are still running 1320 ft.

Did she break 300 mph at the 1/8 on this run? When I was in Indy in September she was 299 mph in the 1/8 and 337 on top end.

I forget who, but some company started a 300mph club for those who hit that mark at the 1/8th
@@jam2365 300 in the 1/8. I don’t remember the company either, and they’re only a few mph away from that too. Personally I just think it’s not as significant as a 3.59 to Top Fuel class since they don’t run only to the 1/8 and already run 297/298 in the 1/8 often

They shut down Bandimere this past year because some idiots decided to start building homes near it. They said they were going to select a new site, but I haven't heard anything since. Breaks my heart that one of the very few sports that's more amazing to see live than anywhere else is slowly dying. These things (top fuel) simply cannot be described with words.
