I am old and old school, hence I love my SFT with the classic dust cover! For me, it is perfect in every way, especially topped with a RMR. However, I can see why those who may need a light would want the light rail option. It is the little things that can make a big difference.
Thank you Wilson Combat for this new innovation. Shout out to the Young Guns for carrying on the tradition and being stand up guys! It would be amazing if Wilson Combat sold leather holsters for the EDC/SFT line that accommodated a weapon mounted light (TLR7A, X300, etc).
I also hope to see the following as well: (more holster options from Wilson directly)
"It would be amazing if Wilson Combat sold leather holsters for the EDC/SFT line that accommodated a weapon mounted light (TLR7A, X300, etc)"
The x300 doesn’t fit on my SFT
Good video guys - thanks!
Good addition for those who were asking for it. For me, I like my SFT9 just fine with no light rail and no optics mount. The extra grip texture is interesting though!
Excellent video gents!
Can you folks /WC please do a side by side, feature by feature comparison of the SFX9 versus the SFT9. Please?
The SFX9 is pretty much a solid frame EDCx9, the SFT is solid frame but with a “1911” commander slide & TRAK pattern in front/back of grip
The X has the X-tac pattern.
The T has the trac pattern.
Same gun otherwise.
Thanks for the video. Is that grip texture available in other types of colors and finishes or only like that? Or does it just depend on the color of the armor tuff?
With respect I prefer Ken Hackathorn and Bill Wilson videos.
I agree.
I’m sure they don’t care
Don't forget Mass Ayoob !!!
Absolutely, I've been following Massad Ayoob for decades now!
There’s just so much excitement and energy in these videos. It’s so hard not to fall asleep. Sitting in a workshop talking about skate tape and paint without even seeing what these guys are talking about. I get so excited about the products they are describing, I can’t wait to run out and buy one. Snore.
I was wondering what was up with the texture pic a few days ago. I had assumed an individual shooter did it on his own.
Pretty great factory option!
Congratulations! Lucky Winner.📥
Nice
Please consider a video on explaining and emphasizing the difference between the sft9 and the sfx9, especially since the sft now has a light rail option.
It's basically just the grip pattern and serrations on the side
@@caseymarritt1853 I want to say the sft also has the traditional 1911 rounded slide top while the sfx has a tri-top cut slide and a possible red dot cut. While the uppers can be different, I’m curious to see how much difference there is in the lower with the textures/grip patterns.
@caseymarritt1853 no... the upper is very different the sft is more similar to a traditional 1911. The sft has a match barrel, bushing and internal extractor compared to the sfx that has a bull barrel and an external extractor
The SFX come in full size, compact & subcompact
The SFT come with a commander length slide
Could we get a detachable magwell for those of us who also want to use these in USPSA and 3-Gun? That would be fantastic! This is my carry gun and competition gun. It NEEDS a detachable magwell!
Now do a 3.25 inch please!
The SFT is nice but I love my Experior 5 inch with the grip pannels 😊
What’s the best light for this gun? I bought the Surefire x300A Turbo, but it’s too long. I see Wilson sells several “branded” Streamlights, but I don’t need to buy another one that doesn’t fit
It would be nice if they’d list what lights are compatible with it… I bought a Surefire x300a Turbo & it won’t fit
Now if only you'd make it optic ready for us older guys, maybe use the new Trijicon RCR mini reflex footprint natively (no floor plate..) I came very close to ordering the SFT9 but there was no light rail and no way to mount an optic.. so I ordered a C2.. I'm not adverse to having both if you ever adopt both features.. :)
Does the stock version of this gun fit in the IDPA box for CCP? Or does it need custom shop modifications like the EDC X9 does?
I haven't seen the sft9 compact
Now you done it! After buying my first WC EDC X 9L now I NEED the SFT for CCP 😂 it’s only money. Enjoyed your video.
7 mins into the video and still haven't seen a clear picture of the gun...
You will see your comment erased. I said the same, no close ups, hiding something. They erased my comments twice. Lol

The "Young Guys" aren't very experienced, and they are guilty as charged.
Hope they can develop a smoother and more professional delivery.
Does sft9 take the 18 rd magazine from edc x9
With respect, most of us dont care what you prefer.
What I keep asking is, WHY no love for lasers? The younger crowd are all about red dots, and the old school gang are all about irons. Lasers appear to be the Taboo. Why?
Ratdog
For gaming, lasers may be hot stuff. However, for real life CQB, they suck.
MIddle age shooters with Mike Seeklander and ? No disrespect but...
Ha! They said doody!!!
Would have been better to show more than just the ass end of the gun. Also, not everyone knows this pistol…a quick overview would have been beneficial.
I demand a light rail, sold pistols because they didn’t have em. That said, so you made a heavy ass pistol even heavier?? Haha 😂 I guess if your not carrying it.
Love W.C. Love them like crazy, but I do wish they would offer the SFX9 and the SFT9 in STEEL instead of aluminum. Hopefully someday.
The reason is because steel is a lot more heavy and not the best for carry. Sure the payoff is reduced felt recoil, but the aluminum gives you the advantage of metal while not sacrificing the weight.
Now if you carry OWB then the frame metal allow isn't much of a concern since of course, the weight is outside.
Not to mention the aluminum is cheaper to manufacture and mill compared to steel.
@@subwoofer6726 I understand the reasons and I know the difference between aluminum and steel, lol. Thanks man.
@@pastorjoshv Oh haha. I always tend to clarify when I see because I have seen people want a steel carry gun, but then are sorely disappointed when they realize how heavy they tend to be in comparison to aluminum since that is catching on more and more. My apologies 👍
So, why didn’t you make one with a rail earlier on?
Jesus where's Bill?
macro grip modules???
❤️🔥🇺🇸🤙🏻
Yep!! 40+ ounces with a rail Lol 😂 don’t forget the best part, it’s $3,000+!! Haha 😂
Poor video. No close up shots of the guns showing the finish.
$2500 starting price??? I'll stick with my Bul Armory lol
Having owned both, no comparison
@caseymarritt1853 Yeah the WC isn't it for $1000 more lol just get a Staccato then.
Start making it in 45cal and I'll buy two! Your leaving a whole lot of money on the table by ignoring us.

The current market is 9mm. And is so for many valid reasons. I understand your loyalty to the 45, but that is your choice. 9mm today gives performance (accuracy, penetration, wound channel) VERY close to that of 45.
The market wants smaller, and lighter, that means double stack 9mm! ! !
So not a concealed carry grip on that one?😂
I am no doubt sure that this is a great gun however, in this day and age, people run lights and red dots and for the price tag not being able to use either is a huge fail. And yes, people nowadays run lights and red dots on their EDC, that’s just how it is and if you come out with an EDC pistol that can’t carry either then it’s not gonna be a huge seller
You're damn right! They also need to have ambi safeties. Regardless of what hand dominant you are.
Are y’all talking to us or each other or people in the room?? Haha 😂 I’m NOT a fan of you guys Lol I’m sure your great in the real world but on video it’s almost as bad as Massad Lol I don’t fall asleep to your videos tho, that’s a plus haha 😂
I would rather watch paint drying!
Young guns SUCK! Wilson combat is a joke
@johnjones5631, Have you handled or shot any?
