Some of the fatalities in MK X were just downright BRUTAL, doc. Mileena actually holds the trophy for the worst one, where she flays them in 2 with her BARE HANDS. Like, skin is gone, flesh is mutilated, blood, gore, the usual MK stuff, and then she just does her usual thing and has a nice lunch of her victim.
Funnily enough, it's called "tasty treat".
The scariest part is the opponent backing down with their hands and seeing their own guts spilled all over the floor before dying

Don't forget to do a react for medical injuries for a game called *"OUTLAST"* & it's DLC *"Whistle Blower"* since there's a big range of injuries. Some of the most notable ones are someone cutting off some of the player's fingers with a pair of sheers & the player going through the rest of the game with fingers missing, getting thrown off a balcony & through glass early on in the game (would someone survive that, what's their chances) & then in Whistle Blower there's a crazy guy who tries to make men look like women by swapping out body parts in grotesque ways & he even tries to perform a "vasectomy" on the player but cutting off his man bits with a table saw...so what's the likelihood of surviving that etc.
This is truly hilarious and just great laughed almost throughout the entire video, thank you for putting in this much time and effort into your amazing videos! Love your content 💕

Man playing Mortal Kombat I always know the pain the fighters go through will be unbearable and gross but the doctor is making me realize that it's actually much more brutal in real life than shown in the games.
Nobody would ever realistically get up from a big hit like the x rays
I watched a video on recording the sound effects of Mortal Kombat. Super interesting! Those bones you hear snapping, that's what it sounds like when you rip a sweet bell pepper apart with your hands. Eye gouging? Just squeezing bananas and oranges.

Hearing Dr. Wagner talk about the accuracy of anatomy in MK is really interesting! It's amazing that half of these X-Ray attacks can just be shrugged off for the sake of gameplay

Thanks Dr. Wagner. It's great to hear what can happen when specific structures are injured, and what you do when you see those injuries in the ER. Is it possible for C1 or C2 to get minor enough fracturesthat people live through them, or is any type of fracture (even minor) to them a death sentence?
It should be pronounced as VOG-NEAR since it's a German name and a popular X-Men called Nightcrawler goes by that.
I've actually met someone who's suffered minor enough fractures to survive... SO yes, it's possible. It's exceedingly rare, which is why he was warned about exactly how damn lucky he was to wake up, and that he had some REALLY smart friends around to support his head and neck, rather than take his helmet off when he fell of his motorcycle... ;o)

You're damn right about even a small rib injury causing so much pain. Once tore intercostal muscle moving some very heavy stuff for a friend while drinking, it set in as I sobered up and I woke up that night in so much pain that I could barely breathe or move that side of my body. A week of that was awful, can't imagine what a few big breaks would put someone through.
At 2:46, when you talked about back injuries, I still remember that one evening where I helped to clean our apartment after moving in, the elevator wasn't working and I took a lot of heavy stuff down. It hindered my field of vision and I slipped and fell, with the point of the stairs hitting my back.
Let’s just say that there were tears of pain and difficulty breathing.

As I have been binging through your videos mostly the reactions to family Guy medical stuff, I actually have been thinking about what you think if you saw mortal Kombat or least the more recent mortal Kombat games that include these x-rays. This was really awesome to see. It does look like Midway or whoever makes the mortal Kombat games nowadays really did their research and who knows maybe they might actually use this video right here for reference when it comes to making the next mortal Kombat game

I've been playing MK since the arcade days and I'm 41 now so yay a long time lol. The MK 11 crushing blow attacks, not xray anymore but same thing lol, are even more brutal than MKX. I'm pretty sure you've watched those before Dr Wagner but u should check out the MK 11 dlc character ones too.
So glad X and 11 brought back brutalities too, I mean there's a lot more to them compared to the MK3 days where all brutalities were continuous combos until the other guy explodes into a pile of bones, with multiple rib cages, MK's come a long way since the 90's
Hey doc! I had that "pidgeon chest" a few years ago (6-7 years ago) I wore a Strange thing that was always pressuring against my chest... Unconfortable and made me sweat like a pig, PURE AGONY! Thanks God that this pidgeon chest is a thing of the past now...

The reason they "Get up" after this is because of some weird lore regarding them technically being immortal or something. Johnny Cage practically grounds his daughter by brutally murdering her.

My favorite thing is that the doctor reacts to these horrendous injuries the same way any ordinary person would. It removes the unrealistic "stone face" stereotype.

My personal favorite X-Ray isn't in Mortal Kombat X, but in Mortal Kombat XL with Casey Cage with her what I call the Nutcracker
Cassie Cage is in the main version of MKX (not DLC), and her xray is called "Testi-kill". "Nutcracker" is actually an enhanced version of Johnny Cage's iconic Nut Punch attack.

It's worth mention that while I was still avid in boxing and martial arts, we had a few college kids come to the gym/studio looking to get some measurements for their thesis on injuries sustained from "street fighting" so they were looking for some baseline power and pressure ratings... When we got to "forced knee attacks" {where you physically grab your opponent and pull them while lunging up and forward with the knee) they explained that they were seeing numbers similar to what they'd expect from a car-crash at 35 or more mph... Some of the stuff in-game really IS pretty brutal. ;o)

As a person with Pectus Excavatom it would be nice to see an In-depth video on the affects and treatments around it e.g nuss Procedure, implant, When will they actually break the ribs in PLACE. Think that will be an interesting video for this channel :)

I am so glad you did a react to this! Personally my favorite X-rays because the pacing of it and the sounds makes it seem just as brutal and have such impact, especially with the slow motion, before the actual break/shatter. On top of that, I think the bone and muscle looked the best in this one, adding on the brutality of the impacts.
When it comes to anatomy MKX was super realistic and gross in all the best ways.
MK11 kinda dialed it back a bit. Sure, they put a ton of work on the eyes and heart models, but you don't get the crunchy, slimy, visceral nastiness of MKX.
