The " tiny rafter" bit made me spit out my Pepsi! Totally caught me off guard 😂😂😂😂
"You used the wrong battery"...👍 If anybody wants this saw Lowes has a promo, buy the 12v extreme drill and impact driver kit for $199 get a free bare tool...the saw is a option for free tool.
Looks quite capable. I see that it’s doesn’t have the same power as the bigger voltage saws but that’s to be expected. Appreciate the review brother 🙂✌️❤️ Congrats on the 5K subs!! 🎊🎉🔥✅
Thanks, Marius!
Again Congrats on passing 5k subs and I'll see you at 10k soon. Looking forward to the Livestream on Sunday
I has all the features one can ask for and all the included accessories is a plus. Good job dewalt !
Very happy with mine😁 and to the people trying to compare it to the skil 12v kit for $99.... cheaper isn't always better. Skil is still making birdhouses DeWalt is on another level. And to all the Milwaukee fan boys....did u ever notice how DeWalt doesn't have near as many sales on there tools??....it's because they don't need to because they will always be the leader and people follow. Every job site I go to is dominated by DeWalt. The Milwaukee I see the most of on the job is the packouts which call me old school but I don't see the point on spending a butt load of money on plastic lol I just don't get it. Anyway the DeWalt 12v saw is a bad ass in its own right and a must for pros or dyi'ers
Hey I have the same model of the saw and I've been using it in my jobsite for 3 weeks now. I'm a Texas state resident and a licensed and certified carpenter/framer. And I have a framing job in Sacramento CA so I traveled that far to make some money it's a great pay and great contract. And being my first day I drive around the town in Sacramento CA to grab me some framing nails for the job, and some sledgehammer to replace my old ones and other stuffs and goodies and I passed the tool store there name Fasteners Inc! So I checked the tool store and low and behold I stumbled upon the black and yellow tools (DeWalt) waving Hi! at me and until then I saw this little 12V Circular Saw! And I was like what the hell is this?! So I talked to the store they told me that this saw is New from DeWalt tools and they showed what the hell it is they grabbed one of their Saw for demonstration they handed the saw to me and I made some sample cuts. And I was shocked of how light the saw! It's small and light perhaps lighter than my buddy's DeWalt 20V Atomic saw. So without hesitation I've seen enough I've seen the tool in some action even though it's a demo. And I purchased the tool Man that was a good stop on that store before I head over to my Jobsite. I purchased this saw to replace my old Ryobi 18V 5-1/2 Circular Saw for my Trim Works because the circular saw that I'm using for framing is the big one that I have is the Dewalt corded Worm Drive Circular Saw with brake. So this new Dewalt 12V circular saw is good for my Trim Works, it can cut 2x4 and 2x6 but it cannot cut 4x4 because of the blade size. This saw is only good for light carpentry applications and trim works. I'm happy with my purchase on that day! I love the saw!
Awesome! Glad to hear from a carpenter about using it on the jobsite! Thanks for watching
That tiny rafter part LMFAO!!!! Well done my friend!!
Those rafter/hang hooks are good for not only rafters but hanging off of saw horses as well,I've had to hang mine off ladders, scaffolding, jacks on roofing jobs, gutters, and plain 2x4s. They're a necessity in my eyes now and I wouldn't buy a saw without one
Wondering why I used the wrong battery? Guess you better go check my Instagram or Facebook!
Congrats on 5k
My father inlaw got me a 12v impact driver by accident instead of the 20v XR. Been using that 12v for several months now and it does deliver by means of weight, size and ability to drive screws and small bolts. I have a 60v circular saw and do think this 12v will fill the gap of smaller jobs. Looks and performs nicely for it's 12v ability I think. Thank you for introducing this to us.
I agree. I’m not a contractor or anything so the 12v line is perfect for DIY projects around the house
@@laneblount9888 You're right on that. The 12v Impact Driver is my go to for almost a year now. My 20v Drill Driver is kept most times at the reloading bench for brass prep.
Iv for the little dewalt 4 1/2 Circular saw and love it, works with any battery I put on it
You can attach a dust bag that comes with the 20v sander. Fits perfect and works great
Awesome tip, John!
If I did not have the M12 , I would jump on this one. Great review and test
Holy crap Tiny Rafter got me! Nice work!
"You used the wrong battery", and I don't know why? I like the little saw for small jobs or touch up work. Thanks for another good video!
Rafter hook is useful when you are cutting your roof sheeting.. also will hang from ladder or sawhorse
I'm planning on pushing this thing on the jobsite. Only comparable I can think of is the makita sub compact. Blade left saws were made for framers considering their line of sight.
xtreme rocks all my guys love them
The M12 Fuel is a great little saw also
Hey! Great channel!
Nice review, the saw looks good for those on the Xtreme platform.
I have Dewalt saws and like using them, but take the Metabo HPT 6.5" Deep Cut Saw FTW on trim and standard-duty projects. I know, 12v vs 18v isn't a fair comparison; however, the Deep Cut isn't much bigger than that little 12v Dewalt and can cut as strong as and deeper than a DCS570 (also a good standard-duty saw, even without PD or FA).
Lastly, blade right isn't wrong, it just means more practice cutting with your left hand.
Keep up the good work.
Good video! It would be interesting to see this up against both the Milwaukee M12 circ saw ($149 bare tool) and the Skil 12v circ saw. The Skil sells at Lowe’s as a kit for $99 that includes their quick charger and a 4ah battery, whereas the Dewalt sells for $139 bare tool.
I snagged the Skil 12V for $35 bare on Amazon a few weeks ago 😉 The price went away by the time I went to post the link, though.
When I got to Fasteners Inc tool store somewhere in Sacramento CA I only got the tool for $99.00 Bare Tool. And then I also purchased the Diablo 5-3/8" 36 carbide Tooth Finish Blade (3/8" or 10mm Arbor Size) I purchased mine for Trim Works and Light Carpentry applications. Because the typical Circular Saw that I using for Heavy duty Carpentry and Framing is my DeWalt Corded Brushed 7-1/4" 15amp motor Worm Drive Circular Saw with Electric Brake (model# DWS535B) and my backup circular saw or Secondary saw for framing and heavy duty Carpentry is my SKILSAW Southpaw Sidewinder 15amp Dual Field Motor, 7-1/4" Corded circular saw, no E-brake or soft start (model # SPT67M8) this new DeWalt Xtreme 12V Brushless cordless 5-3/8" circular saw is great for my Trim Works.
@@PhillyFixed how does this saw compare to the skil? im on the fence can't decide witch one I want
@@PrimasXD123 I have the Skil in hand but have not had a chance to test it. Just picked up some Diablo blades over the weekend so I can compare with the same blade and not the stock ones. Will do a vid soon!
You used the wrong battery! 😆 great video... always enjoy the content.
Love that shirt!
You’ve come a long way my friend, congratulations on the 5000. You used the wrong battery!
Does anyone know the minimum cut depth at 90 degree?
you used the wrong battery, love the content my dude good stuff. keep it going
Thanks for the review, that looks like a nice little saw and could definitely see myself using it for smaller applications. Wonder if a different blade would reduce the saws hesitation while cutting? Also that tiny rafter piano part was unexpectedly hilarious!! You used the wrong battery
I'm going to swap out the stock blade for a Diablo when I do some upcoming comparisons. Thanks for watching and hope to see you on the livestream tonight!
There isn't normally hesitation, he was pushing the saw hard. Not normal cutting technique. That said Diablo blades can only help.
I have the Milwaukee version and I only use it for trim work or thin sheets of wood, ill use my Milwaukee 6.5 circular saw for larger pieces of wood.
How much did it cost?
Wish it was 20 volt like the old Dewalt DW936 18V 5 3/8, it was great to do flooring, pocket cuts and vertical cuts.
It wouldn't surprise me if they take this saw and make a 20V version
It would be nice for cutting rafter tails
This size reminds me of metal cutting circ saws we electricians depend on.
Hi There! I am coming over from Nate's Live. I look forward to checking out your channel. Nice To Meet You!
Thanks for stopping by! I wasn't able to stick around for the whole live stream... did he end up answering the question I put in the chat?
Next video…the FLEX in-line saw…👍👍…Great video again and God Bless you and your family..😇😇👍👍👍
I want to see a head up between this saw and the worm drive FlexVolt dcs577.
Do it with a dead pan face, and call these head to heads curb stomping.
The 6.5 20 volt is a good small saw for contractors
How do they make these tools and sell them for only $99?
China?
Who cares. Its a great saw and has a warranty.
@@PhillyFixed well good thing I guess. No would buy a $349 12v circ saw that was actually made here instead of DeWalt assembled USA mumbo jumbo
You never know! But you're probably right...
Tiny rafter😂😂😂. That was the best! Hey those Phils on a little run, huh? Five straight. Bring on the Mets.
Go Birds!
One down, 2 to go!
@@PhillyFixed 2 down, one to go! 🧹 🧹🧹

Smaller saw up in rafters is more ideal. I've seen rafter hooks on big saws only for so long it's stupid if you need to make a hard cut hits always on the ground and then installed. Quick and easy small cuts are for up high. For small saws is what I would like
Omg yes I have been waiting for this to come out!!
It's the perfect ultra light saw to help with my forearm injury, I think the price is silly since it competes with the better built M12 fuel saw and I much prefer the build quality of the Milwaukee but I don't like the extra fat handle, doesn't help with my forearm, and it doesn't have a dust chute so using it indoors is a big NOPE for me.
As soon as it goes on sale or comes with any free battery I'm taking it and selling my more than 2lbs heavier 6.5" fuel saw!
Thanks for watching Eric -- I actually prefer this saw to the M12, I used to own that one. And I will have a video comparing the two coming up soon!
Do you like this saw better than the 6 1/2 saw?
I actually haven't gotten to use the 6-1/2" much. But, I do have it and will be doing some more circ saw videos soon. My go-to circ saws outside UA-cam are Metabo HPT and Makita.
"YOU USED THE WRONG BATTERY" LOL
“YOU USED THE WRONG BATTERY”
GO BIRDS!!!
I’m getting mine bare tool from fasteners I already have the impact and drill driver so no need for Lowe’s deal
💪DeWALT
Did you know that You used the wrong battery ? Congrats on the 5k subs!
Some day I will tell my grandchildren I was a subscriber to Philly Fixed when there were less than 5,000 subscriber's. I wonder if they'll believe me.
LOL! Thanks for watching, Dan!
I wanna update my comment about this DeWalt Xtreme 12V circular saw. Besides doing Trim and other Fine Works, I'm also using this saw for Plunge Cutting when I'm doing Framing! Because the circular saw that I'm using for Heavy duty framing is my DeWalt Corded Worm drive saw and my Makita Hypoid Saw and they're heavy as Mule! So this New DeWalt 12V circular saw is perfect for Frame plunge cutting it's light weight perhaps like a Feather weight! And only for Light Carpentry applications and Plunge Cutting, but I ain't gonna use this for cross cutting 2x4's, 2x6's and 2x12"s it can do it but I don't want to take the risk of frying the tool. The saw is great And the Mobility is Excellent, I also don't use this saw for Rip Cutting, I'd rather have my Worm drive and my Hypoid Saw to do that job instead.
A bumblebee wearing sunglasses and a saw you can't push
Always wanted a reason to have the m12 saw, but I guess my issue with it is the lack of dust extraction option. Oddly, the euro version of the m12 saw does have a dust port. You do have better options like the Makita 18v saws if compact is really your thing.
I agree, why do 12v when there are powerful subcompact 18v tools?
@@marauder2525 I think it’s possible to make a good 12v circular saw and I am thinking something like a high output battery. If not….they can do a 12V x2 or perhaps a multi volt of some sort.
@@ProxyFinal More cost, more cost, more cost...Keep the overhead low...I have NO 12v batteries except for the Bosch Flexiclick installation tools. Think about it, why not do a sub compact 20v with 1 battery vs two 12v batteries? I doubt there would be much difference in power between the two...Also, that's why we rely on Philly Fixed to do the testing!
@@marauder2525 I wouldn’t say it makes it more expensive. Just look at Makita, they always have promotions where they give out batteries for their x 2 system. M12 system is by no means terrible. I own quite a bit of them myself and as well the Makita subcompact.
@@ProxyFinal You are speculating on something that Dewalt does not do...Use 2 batteries...Just bigger and bigger batteries...Dewalt is not Makita. I also have the Makita subcompact tools. I believe that Belts and
Boxes gave the the Makita subcompact circ saw to a framer who said it was a nice saw but he could not use it for framing.
You used the wrong battery. I like the small footprint or that saw.
The plastic guard is better than the metal, the plastic just flexes when dropped the magnesium is brittle and will crack or the guard won't work as smooth, the base will break before the guard will
Please elaborate!
Ok by editing your original comment to elaborate it makes my request look ridiculous 😂. But, good points!
@@PhillyFixed 👍
anything overhead a lighter saw its worth it weight in gold, not the fastest saw or the most powerful but thats not what I bought it for.
That saw is not designed to push that hard, just let it go at its own speed
You used the wrong battery, congrats on 5,000
Hey Jim, you used the wrong battery😎😂😎😂😎

You used the wrong battery! Should have found a way to get a flexvolt battery to work on that bad boy! You'd be able to cut through ironwood, I'm sure. 😉
You used the wrong magazine!!! I became the 5555th subscriber.
Nice!! Thanks for joining!
I have the Milwaukee M12 circ saw, and I notice that the battery makes a huge difference in performance. I would not be surprised if the DeWalt is the same.
If you're interested, I could send my saw to you for a head-to-head comparison.
I might take you up on that... I actually owned the M12 Fuel circ before I started the channel, but I ended up selling it in favor of the Makita subcompact 18V.

You used the wrong battery!
By the way you used the wrong battery in the test
What is the point of that saw?? The shoe is so cut up it looks very unstable. As a professional carpenter your “tests” don’t show the potential of this saw where it would be more useful in cutting flooring, sheet goods , ect.

You used the wrong battery for this video, this saw would have been a beast otherwise.
That would be a good plywood saw!
I think you need to do a head to head with the skil 12v but you used the wrong battery. You used the wrong battery just to limit the power. Don't do the same thing with the skill or ill say " you used the wrong battery " again lol

@@SprouseyTheHandyMan its a joke, check out his other videos.
You use the wrong battery. Pick me.
As a builder that’s embarrassing to watch you use that saw at all. You do know the saw didn’t stall , the holes in the wood caused the issue, try buying a piece of new 2x8 Kd ..wow
Yes, I think everyone saw that it got hung up on the holes. Did fine on the oak. I'm not a professional builder or carpenter, sorry you didn't find value in the video.
