Agreed. It was a game that showed us the good and the bad of humanity and how our decisions can impact it. I don’t care who complains that its “the darkest game!” Oh please this game did everything right, it showed us that everything game isn’t sunshines and rainbows theres always that part and they did it right.

It actually shows the characters development in the new world that they caused to happen. Muzet: definitely improved not longer a sociopath. But elements remain... but she does seek to be a better person. Gaius: improved by trying to understand the social norms of Elympios to ensure peace between the two nations Elize: has confidence in herself, no longer rhe shy girl that she was Leia: looks outside her perspective in order to broaden her understanding of subjects Alvin: no longer a backstabber and treasured bonds between his friends and help the bridge between Reize Mazia and Elympios Milla: seeks the reason why this happened and to assist humans, sacrificed herself so that mana will ensure time humans have for a better life Jude: to seeks the third path to ensure that the time they were given will not go to waste, the third path is the spyrites. The first two are wallow in despair and the destruction of Elympios. Rowen: finds his purpose in the bridging of nations. Teepo: Teepo is Teepo!
truly the best out of all tales series imo i purposedly avoided the "true ending" during the first playthrough and trained ludger real hard for the brother ending just to get it first before other endings (without knowing anything about the brother ending because i sure as hell wouldnt give up julius at that point in time) - by the time i finally achieved the brother ending, my party's too strong and final boss fight was like sntaching candy from a kid

Me too. This game destroyed me in many ways. Such a great story, with a fantastic (but HOLY SHIT WAS IT HEARTBREAKING) ending. And listening to this song makes me remember the last battle theme. Xillia 2 is my second favorite Tales game (Abyss being first), and a game everyone should play
My only complaint with the ending was that it felt like there was still more to tell, particularly about the eventual unification of the human and spirit worlds. Xillia 2 never really ended conclusively on that subject. I mean the game did throw numerous hints that it would happen eventually (probably within the next few years at the rate Jude is moving) and Jude did seem to be on the verge of some kind of breakthrough at the end of the game, but we never actually see what comes of it. After all that talk about how Jude and Milla would be the ones to finally bring humans and spirits together, I would have liked to see some real payoff for all of that buildup.
That part with Julius always gets to me...when I was in line to meet his voice actor, J. Michael Tatum, I watched that scene while I was waiting. He made a sad face and asked me why...I don't remember my response :( but one of the things I do remember is I was dressed as Ludger and I told him sorry that I didn't make that last pasta margherita.
Thank you! Finally someone else who likes her, frankly loved her when she showed up on how even the slightest divergence can cause someone to be different.
Also, I've not beaten the game, but chapters 11 and 12 (those are the latest ones I've finished) are the most depressing things I've seen in a tales game
The Tales games are so underrated. If only people could get past the cover art and get to the wondrous games and stories that wait beneath. Now excuse me while I cry in the corner because of this damn game. P.s. If you don't think Ludger is the most badass Tales character, then reevaluate your life choices.

Out of all tales game this is the only one I've ever finished without dropping it during midgame. Also the fact that I love every cast is a huge plus to me, usually there is someone I hate in every jrpg I've played.
It’s my favorite one so far that I played mostly bc it’s so unique compared to the others with its modern scifi setting But sadly there probably won’t be another like it as it was an experimental one
Same here! Although I may be a bit biased as this was my first Tales game. But honestly when I think about all the Tales I’ve played, Xillia has one of the most memorable characters, along with Graces and Zestiria. I can only remember Velvet and Laphicet from Berseria which is ironic because it’s the latest Tales at the moment. I would add Vesperia but I’m currently playing it now, so
Literally the only thing I had against Xillia 2 was the debt system that wasn't so optional until you got to a point late in the game, but other than that, this was one of my favorites in the series. Fractured Milla still makes me cry.
The debt system was easily ignored if you just used up all your money from time to time. You needed to raise those stores anyway to get better items and equipment so the game just wanted you to always use your money. You got money out of your ears anyway so it's not like you would somehow need to grind that much once the inevitable debt roadblock showed up in between chapters. Though yes, it would have been better with no debt system at all as it was just an arbitrary way of stopping your progress through the game so you wouldn't try to speedrun the shit out of the game.
I will never understand who thought the debt system was a good idea. I get why it has a place in the story but debt sucks irl so why make it a game mechanic🤷♀️
Bandai Namco is doing shit right now (why did they make out every Final Fantasy to Steam , but not full Tales Of Series) and for me every japanese game is Namco products)

それほどまでに切なくてそして夢中になれたゲームだった。

ここでルドガーのあのシーンが思い浮かんで涙腺がやられてしまう
クリアしてから聞くと更に泣けてくるんだよなぁ。

Out of all tales game this is the only one I've ever finished without dropping it during midgame.
Also the fact that I love every cast is a huge plus to me, usually there is someone I hate in every jrpg I've played.
Berseria has the best cast imo
It’s my favorite one so far that I played mostly bc it’s so unique compared to the others with its modern scifi setting

Same here! Although I may be a bit biased as this was my first Tales game. But honestly when I think about all the Tales I’ve played, Xillia has one of the most memorable characters, along with Graces and Zestiria. I can only remember Velvet and Laphicet from Berseria which is ironic because it’s the latest Tales at the moment. I would add Vesperia but I’m currently playing it now, so

１より２のほうが泣く要素が多い。
分史ミラ、兄ユリウスの別れが辛かったけど、ルドガーかエルのどちらしか生き残れない運命がプレイしたテイルズの中で一番辛かった。
1は越えられんだろと思ってたら、軽く凌駕してくんだもんな(土下座)
ps3が壊れてしまったので、、ps4でリメイク版でたらまたやりたいなぁ…！そしてガチでこの曲は神すぎる…！

Literally the only thing I had against Xillia 2 was the debt system that wasn't so optional until you got to a point late in the game, but other than that, this was one of my favorites in the series.
Fractured Milla still makes me cry.
The debt system was easily ignored if you just used up all your money from time to time. You needed to raise those stores anyway to get better items and equipment so the game just wanted you to always use your money. You got money out of your ears anyway so it's not like you would somehow need to grind that much once the inevitable debt roadblock showed up in between chapters.
Though yes, it would have been better with no debt system at all as it was just an arbitrary way of stopping your progress through the game so you wouldn't try to speedrun the shit out of the game.
I hated that you cant switch characters in the field
IKR, I don't usually do cheats but for this one time, I did it so I paid off the debt early.
I will never understand who thought the debt system was a good idea. I get why it has a place in the story but debt sucks irl so why make it a game mechanic🤷♀️
