hi Jonathan. when traveling alone anywhere here in the Philippines, especially the tourist spots, you must gear up yourself with lots of knowledge on how to avoid those people trying to take advantage of you being a foreigner in making the fare higher than usual, as much as possible do not entertain those people who come towards you and offering assistance because the reason behind that is for them to get more from you. it is always best to have a Filipino local that you can trust in communicating with them because a lot of them are trying to earn more in a dirty way. just a piece of advice. enjoy your tour.
This is true if you are in or within the city destination. However, if in the province, taxis going out of the city will charge more as they need to compensate the gas they have to use going in back to the city. They will have no passenger when they go back to the city.
While it is true you need to be street wise to get the lowest prices, after a time intravelling i found paying the least is not always the best. These people are living in pretty low conditions and paying more is like helping them. Paying a little more to a foreigner is just a little bit to them it is a lot. A difference between going to bed hungry vs full stomach or Being able to pay for a months medicine or suffering without. Many times I choose to not haggle the cheapest and feel low looking back when I denied a poor person a little more income when it could mean so much more to them that you would never know about.
SOME PEOPLES TRAVEL WITH A BUDGET SPECIALLY IF YOU Don’t HAVE EXTRA INCOME AND RELYING ON YOU TUBE SALARY, IF THEY Don’t HAVE VIEWS They Don’t HAVE MONEY Either … SPECIALLY IF YOU A FOREIGNERS ITS SCARY IF YOU Don’t HAVE ANY MONEY COZ NO ONE Or NOBODY GIVE YOU STUFF FOR FREE…. ✌️🙌✌️💕🇺🇸

As Filipino who has lived in Manila for more than 30 years, visiting Bohol for the first time for vacation really made me realize how busy and stressful Manila is. Bohol has a very special place in my heart and would go back as soon as possible.
I really love to go back to Bohol❤ Balicasag island is amazing, I know you’re not a beach person but seeing the fishes and turtles makes it worth it. Just enjoy every island in the Philippines sir Jonathan 😍❤️🇵🇭
Just a note for all visiting the Philippines. Always spend a little more on ferry tickets. First class or open air etc.. I was on a ferry from Surigao City to Siargao Island (not as nice as the ferry he was on) and purchased a standard ticket... we found ourselves deep down in the boat. As you probably know, every once in a while a ferry catches on fire -or goes down, so having that easy access to offload if needed might just save your life.
This is what i like to see😇 you travelling husling on buses talking to locals like this kinda raw vlog makes your viewer there with you also they can see the process and transports to believe it or not, not all Filipinos travels usually financial but travel videos like this makes them experience and see to process, the hussle and the view of the places....😇 Keep it up
Thanks! That’s true, and even if they do travel much, local Filipinos probably don’t have the same experience as a foreigner while using transportation, so this shows a did dent experience
Hi Jonathan, great to see that you are in Bohol. What a beautiful evening you had at the beach with the sunset and colorful sky. I heard one blogger describe the Tarsiers as a cross between a monkey and a Alien. It really fits them well with their big eyes to hunt insects at night. Enjoy your time in Bohol. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos of your stay there.
Stay smart, Jonathan. See how some people seem to be so friendly at first when they're already starting to take advantage of you, especially if you're a foreigner (from a P700 fare to P400? wow). Don't ever be shy to say no. Stay safe and enjoy exploring. 🙂
I remember a Thai blogger who recently went to the Philippines, he was savage in haggling down the prices like he would automatically haggle it down to 20 to 50 percent of the asking price and he wins all the time, he haggles much better than a local Filipino.
We were just in Bohol! We loved it there! We are traveling around the philippines. We did Cebu, Bohol, El Nido, and now doing Manila! Love the video by the way ❤️
hahaha finally! just finished watching your Philippines vlogs. I've been waiting fir this! thank you, makes me really feel relaxed when I watch your vids. ♥️🌞🌴
You are right Jonathan, there are 7,100 islands in the Philippines. Also in the Philippines we speak 32 dialects. The national language is Tagalog. I love to watch your videos Jonathan & I'm 79 years old.
That is smart , keep wise and always find out how much is the normal fare price before going somewhere,so you have an idea of the actual price and they can't take advantage of you being a tourist..keepsafeand enjoy the Philippines.

I learned something from you. Never take the first person to offer. Always the highest price. I will remember this tip to next time I travel. My father always tells me. "There are good people and not so good people everywhere." Always be wise and careful. I have never been to Bohol, but I checked out some of the places to visit, which were terrific. I & my son travelled to Luzon Manila and Boracay and Cebu and Bohol in June and July 2023. It was a good holiday with lot of sea bathing and I’m from Australia. We enjoyed Bohol more than the other places we visited even though everything is a bit of hype and food and eating is the main item and the people are friendly. I lost my iphone 14 pro when taking a hiring car from the airport to my hotel in Manila the first day I arrived in the Philippines.
Jonathan, don’t get fooled by those companies or people at the airport. If they give you fixed price that means they are not metered taxis. They take advantage of the foreigners even locals. If they say, metered and half way on the road they tell you the price better stop the taxi and get out. You’ll find metered taxi eventually along the road. It happened to me in Manila and I am a Filipino.
In Tagbilaran the metered taxi is allowed to charge the return empty trip, so even local who take a city metered taxi pays the metered amount x2. Its only convenience is you don't have to haggle for the price. A few weeks ago i paid P400 for a tuktuk from Tagbilaran port to Hennan resort hotel in Tawala, Panglao.
I would not know how to haggle when it comes to cheaper rides. Kudos to you! Haha I’ll be in Philippines next week cannot wait to try the local food! 😊
I'm so living for videos like this! Seeing the whole process of traveling. Kudos to you! Have you tried using a duffle bag for your travel? I recommend using the Bento Bag from Nomad Lane. I've been using this bag for months now and it is such a hack. It has a trolley sleeve feature and it fits under the seat too! makes your travel more convenient and effortless and it packs like a suitcase too!
It’s actually gotten worse. Past two days I haven’t done any excursions, just stayed home drinking water and resting. So videos will be delayed, unfortunately
Jonathan wow proud of you, just mentioned that you are from Alabama correct me if I'm wrong. We are from Alabama too.. welcome to Philippines. Congrats enjoy and have a great time in bohol. Try to go to camiguin Island 2 hours boat ride. Camiguin Island is small lots of beautiful spots too.

Haha
I’ll be in Philippines next week cannot wait to try the local food! 😊
Looks like fun..
How is Panglao in December? Great video, my friend!
Hi Jonathan! Nice to see you again!
Enjoy Bohol !
I also enjoyed my stay at Alona Beach 6 years ago :-) !!
It's lovely out there
Hi jonathan welcome to bohol enjoy
Becareful sir, especially during night. Enjoy and be safe.
Take care Jonathan stay safe
aww I think you've got a cold bro. Hope you are feeling better now
It’s actually gotten worse. Past two days I haven’t done any excursions, just stayed home drinking water and resting. So videos will be delayed, unfortunately
check out candijay rice terraces and can -umantad falls, two hidden gems beside each other, you will not regret it!!
