Polyphia is a really good example of acoustic trap drums. That drummer is a monster in the cage
Props for that quality camera work 😍
I'm a rock drummer by nature, but I have to admit that was some sick grooves. I closed my eyes and visualised what I could apply it to, some awesome insight it gave me. Thanks.
Adam, you've got some of the cleanest and most easy to understand lessons out there. Thanks so much for the video!
Great explanation of "trap" beats for people who aren't really familiar with the genre.
Venom Black 👍
@@yanns559 to me it sounds more like it if a computer was used instead of an actual drum
@@yanns559
Well it's technically trap. triplets...
Just need technical
Trap music comes from the “trap” which is drug related shit hence the word “trap house”
Being more into heavy metal, I found this lesson really interesting, I'm going to try these out, thanks for the sick lesson Adam!
Glad you liked it Alex! To be honest, modern metal and "trap" music have plenty in common, as far as the exploration of quick subdivision changes. Move these hi hat patterns to your kick, and you'd have a one hell of a breakdown. ;)
Adam Tuminaro hahaha yes very true! I'll give that a try as well, this should keep me busy for a while, thanks again man!
Alex Baker at first I was thinking "this is going to stupid", because I hate trap music and play metal, prog and fusion.... I'm a total metalhead, but I not only found this interesting but useful as well....
With Metalcore on the rise again many many bands are starting to use similar hi hat patterns. Good example would be Code Orange- My World
ur not a metal drummer then if you put in all this trap stuff keep metal pure. metal rocks dude. metal up ur ass'!!!!
This man is a robin hood for all new drummers ,good work ,congs and thanks .
cool lesson Adam, love these style of beats. Just so you know, I've been playing drums for many many years, and still find your lessons useful and inspirational. Thanks for doing these.

I’m a metal drummer and listener, I’m quite young but I do drum a lot! Thank you for this amazing video, although I rarely play Trap, it was great to see the hihat variations from what I usually play, thank you, it has been really useful 😊 thank you

Love the grooves! Can't wait to try this today!
Was listening to The Weeknd's new album and the trap beat of "Try Me" reminded me so much of the beats you are playing here. It's awesome when you can hear the beats in everyday music!

WoW ADAM, again a quality lesson!
Good job, the dynamic consistency of strokes on the hh is essential to replicating the sound, personally i only play on the bow of the top hat with the tip of the stick
La verdad que todo lo que haces y compartís esta buenisimo che!!!! Salud desde Argentina
Very nice lesson. Great stuff! Thanks man!
Killer beats. We can slow down, speed up, add or subtract notes...lots we can do with these. Lots of applications too.

Great lessons, man! Thanks!!
Omg amazing!
Thank you. Very good indeed. Yes enjoyed it.
I've never really been into electronic music as it is just click, copy and paste (at least in my imagination of how most of it is being.. produced) but it's got some exceptions as I remembered the trapgenre a little. That is why I liked so much to hear "Keep it organic" - which are for me the magic words when it comes to music. I like (Black)metal the most for it's atmosphere, but I like to try combining it to these kind of beats. Many thanks for your explanations!
Super interesting and creative. Thanks !
This video is future of the Trap and
Metal genre
Metal? Ehyla?
Great lesson!Thank you!👏
Great lesson
Hi Adam! You are so amazing!
I AM SOO GLAD I found your channel! You just got another subscriber!!
your a great teacher
Dude you have a studio tan like no other 😜
Love the vid btw 👍🏻
for me, its a cool idea which shows that you dont have to play hihat constantly through a beat, and putting other accents into it. i doesnt work all the time but in this case it is really cool. Thank you!
Amazing!
sick lesson, thx !!
ALV como bateeista novato pensé que sería muy complicado tocar Trap pero con este tutorial sin problemas uno aprende sus primeros beats. Gran cover
Great lesson! Btw what would really be a really interesting followup would a video on how to translate beats made on a drum machine onto an actual drumset, definitely something that often seems to be required in music today
I'm not a drummer but I loved this video!! Well explained!
This video is beautiful
Brillant lesson bro
La meilleur vidéo qui traite du sujet pour le moment qui en sa d'autre pour le même style
so Dope
Really great thanx 4 your inputs Adam. I'm following your ch ;-)
Love the music, and you got a great flow throughout the kit. Could you make a video on blast beats? Having a little trouble with them.
Young Slogg - theyre really simple, just keep doing them and youll get them down. Its important for you wrists to not be stiff
agree with Tronci on this.. the worst thing to have when blasting is a stiff wrist.. you'll tire out very quickly that way. focus on using the bounce of your strikes and using your ring and middle finger to return said bounce to the snare and cymbal. Recommend using a metronome for timing and build up speed.
Awesome dude! Keep it up!
Awesome bro probaly watched this video 50 times and counting lol. Also what hats do you use?
Best Drum lesson 👍
Best teacher in UA-cam
This is an awesome video. Great drumming!
Tooop lembrar-se bateras unidos jamais será vencidos ☕ muito bom.

This guy is a beast
Ive never heard a trapvhi hat played by a real drummer on organic drums, props man!
Muito Bom Adam!
wow super
awesome
Top!👏👏👏
Thanks Instachops
Thanks sir
Cool
Its like a ripple effect, the drums from the top guides the energy to the bottom and when there is enoug in the bottom the kick goes.
