J None used to be a member of VoicePlay until the US Navy recruited him for their chorus 3.5 yrs ago. He was the fellow overlooking the ships coming in and the one that did the rap. He comes down from Washington DC to Orlando to do some videos with them. VoicePlay (plus J None) has recently done Thriller (Michael Jackson), a little further back they've done (Nothing Else Matters), In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins), Man in the Mirror (Michael Jackson) J send off to the US Navy, Friends on the Other Side (Disney's Princess and the Frog), Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame). All of these are incredible. Before this as well but these are since he's been a featured guest.
Welcome to the wonderful world of VoicePlay. They are amazing and my favorite of all the acapella groups and are known as the Theater Kids of acapella. J None was the one who did the rap and he was a member of VoicePlay but left to join the Navy Choir and now does guest appearances. Valhalla Calling is my favorite song by VoicePlay and I enjoyed your reaction. They have a huge library covering all types of music. Enjoy the rabbit hole, no matter what song you chose, you won't go wrong.
Thanks for your reaction to VoicePlay's "Valhalla Calling." They are absolutely wonderful...each one of them. As you listen to more of their work, you will discover how versatile and talented they all are. For instance that creaking door sound...you are correct, that was Layne. Eli did the backgrounds and lighting. They are 100% independent and do very much all by themselves. This one was Layne's arrangement and project. Geoff's lowest notes in this video are several B0 subharmonics (2nd white key on a full piano keyboard). Traditionally, Layne or Geoff does their arrangements/leads their projects but Eli has done some over the years and this year is now in the rotation to do a third of them. Check the credits on the video descriptions on all of their work...they list who did what on that project and see the group members listed (it's changed over the years). Whomever leads the project does the video editing. Their talents definitely go far beyond their stellar vocals. To see a different side of VoicePlay, check out their Metallica cover, "Nothing Else Matters;" also excellent and one of Geoff's projects. Welcome to our rabbit hole...Geoff solo and VoicePlay are fun, impressive, and entertaining.
J. None is the rapper and a former member of VoicePlay. He's off singing for the Navy now, but comes back on occasion to sing with VP. One of VP's more famous and incredible covers is "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica, which also features J. None.
Miracle of Sound is the original artist. Left a comment on Voiceplay's version, giving them credit for a creative cover and rated it 10 raised ale horns out of 10. Always nice when the original artist admires your work. Voiceplay is absolutely amazing. I remind myself that the door was Layne. J None was the rapper and former member. They just did Thriller last month, J was back for that one. He joined the US Navy and is singing with them, but comes back as often as he can to be featured with his old friends. They also did MJ's The Way You Make Me Feel. They have been one man short since 2020 so almost always have a featured artist with them. I subscribed the minute you reacted to Geoff!
😂😂😂 Yes, Voiceplay is the a capella group Geoff is a (founding) member of 👍🏻😁 These guys are around since 1997, the only remaining members of this time are Geoff (bass) and Layne (beatboxer), they had some changes but in that combo I love them so much ❤
Hey guys, I just wanted to say I came across your channel, and I've loved the content you have created. Makes me smile, laugh, or cry sometimes in the same video, lol. Can't wait to watch this reaction 😆. Hope you are both doing well and enjoying life 😊
Great reaction! I very strongly recommend you check out Voiceplay's cover of Nothing Else Matters, originally recorded by Metallica. It may be the best accapella song ever recorded, IMHO. Another super good recent release is Be Prepared from the Lion King.
Ah, the creme de la creme of VoicePlay! Welcome to their Rabbit Hole! This was my favorite song by VoicePlay until their cover of Thriller came out. It's still a very close second. I'm subscribing because I want to see you discover the wonders that are Geoff Castellucci and VoicePlay! If you watch more and decide want some info on the group, I'd be happy to provide it, along with some "rules" (suggestions, really) on optimal VoicePlay/Geoff video viewing. 💙
Subscribing in hopes of watching your journey down the VoicePlay rabbit hole (with a side trip to Geoff’s too). For another side of VP I’ll suggest checking out their cover of “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson or perhaps their version of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make Love Me”. Both very different from this one. One of my favorite things about them is just how very versatile they are. They take on many genres and even many that one wouldn’t think could be done acapella. After my first suggestions which are considerably softer than this one, I then suggest looking into one of their rock covers. Like “Seven Nation Army” by White Stripes or “Warriors” or “Enemy” both originally by Imagine Dragons. Or anything that interests you. I think everything they do is impressive.
You've got to check out Voiceplay's cover of "Enemy" by Imagine Dragons (from the Arcane TV series). It might just be their best cover yet, and really pushes everyone past the limits of what you thought they could do.
I love the face people show when Geoff's bass comes in at the start! Thanks for the reaction!
@@burner3200 I make a face but it’s because it hurts my ears, that’s the only thing I don’t like about him singing so low all the time.

Geoff (profound bass) and Layne (the inhumanly skilled beatboxer) are founding members of Voiceplay.

It is actually their voices you should watch more and watch them live to see how crazy it gets that they sound the same
Please check out their cover of "Creep" by Radiohead ft Anthony ❤
❤❤❤❤❤

Bro, your shirt's on backwards 😉
The one with Peyton Parrish is better I think.
