- This is an unbelievably simply, quick, and INCREDIBLE tasting beef jerky!
I do it on my Camp Chef Pellet Grill, but I'm sure it can be done on any good smoker.
Good luck and ENJOY!!!!
I’m picking up my camp chef on Sunday. My wife bought it for me for my birthday, this is one of the first things I want to smoke on it! Thank you for teaching us how to make jerky..
Tried this over the weekend on my new woodwind smoker - OMG - so delicious - and SOOOOOO EASY! Thanks!
Awesome video. I'm weeks away from getting my woodwind with the side kick. Can't wait.
That looks great. Thank you for the detailed video.
I immediately recognized you from the Helix User Group (the long named one lol) on FB. Thanks for the tips! I'm making jerky this afternoon and I'm planning on using my Camp Chef which I believe is the same model you have. Thanks again!
Awesome video - buying the jerky racks for mine!
Where did you get the trays? I'm thinking about getting the camp chef soon. I make a lot of deer jerky and like how you did it with the trays.
campdude66 It's the "Jerky Rack" add on from Camp Chef. It's a great unit!
What kind of fresh ground pepper grinder is that that you are using with the handle on top? I need one of those buggers! Forget twisting that peppercorn all day irritating my carpel tunnel.
Did you smoke the bacon at the same time to add flavor to the jerky or just to have some bacon?
You mention that you can save money by piecing the smoker together? We're about to buy one, but wouldn't mind saving some money. Can you explain a little more about how to do that? Thanks for the video, I plan to make a lot of jerky!
Thanks for the video. I see that you didn't use a cure, so do you have to keep the jerky in the refrigerator? Thanks again.
That's a great question. It's never lasted longer than 2 days. I don't keep it in the fridge. I guess I'm not sure if you planned to keep it long term if you'd have to keep it in the fridge or not. :)
What is the reason for the bacon? Add flavor or just something else good to eat
Why not bacon? :)
No reason, it just tastes good on the smoker. :)
Nice!!! 👍
What cut of meat did you use for your jerky?
Where did you get those racks for the DLX?
I heard you used a slicer. Do you slice it when still partially frozen to make it easier?
You will wreck your electric slicer cutting raw meat, use a knife
Have you ever used low smoke for the process? Or do you start with that and then go to 170? Thanks for any info
I did. I think it leaves that Creosote residue on it though.
Is that the 24 inch model?
Also, did you buy the American Royal Bold Brisket at Walmart?
We get it at Publix....
Walmart has it on their website, free shipping.
How did you buy your camp chef cheeper?
It was on sale through Dick's website.
I got mine on Black Friday at Dicks for $325
Love it!
Fresh ground pepper is way much better than the pre grounded pepper... I think u can buy that seasoning at Walmart but I’m sick of the msg that’s in those seasoning....
Great Video thanks for postin,. I'm going to try making i.t Oh when the dog barked it scared the poop out of me.
That dog is my favorite thing alive....and a monster pain in the ass.
how long will it last
Jim Gill
Honestly, I’ll never know. I can make 10 pounds and it’s fine in 4 days. :)
did you cook the London broil first?
Bobby Windsor no
What smoke did you use on it?
I only use the Hickory pellets. That's it. All natural smoke.
When you start that grill your suppose to have the lid open.. fyi
Sweet. I’ve had it for 3 years now and never done that.
I’m not sure why it would matter?
@@christaggart2084 Traeger says start with lid open, but for me Rec Teq Customer Service told me don't bother. Just hit the switch and go. I leave the lid open just to let that first puff of ashes blow away, don't want 'em on the food.
Anyone try this with venison?
Faster!!! Faster!!
You have the best jerky’s, uses white ingredients of salt and peppers lol
I happen to like salt and pepper and really like Twisted Q's Brisket rub. I made 3 pounds of Jerky the other day. It last 2 days at my house. My kids love it.
Waste of time! Temp on smoker? Time? 🤦🏻♂️
What's a waste of time??? Sorry, you're obviously new. Temp and time will depend on your smoker.
I put mine at lowest temp and usually for 3-4 hours. I rotate my trays to get even cooking, your smoker may be different.
