Hhahaha dang it is hot down there brother!! We had a nice cold front come in the day I filmed this video. This little pit is so easy to run but wow does it crush the cold or low temp cooks! Thanks for watching!!
I've seen some of you videos in the past and liked em but I mashed the subscribe when I saw jerky! I've had good luck with PS seasoning products. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Shaun! This truly is so easy to do on any cooker!! I was very happy with how this batch turned out and I got more PS Seasoning to try real soon!! I appreciate you watching!!
To save time just get your local grocery store butcher to slice your round roast (top round, eye of round, bottom round whatever). No need to hand trim or have your own slicer or even a knife. Any BBQ sauce or marinade will work as a marinade.
Good video. I prefer using dry marinades. As to not add any more moisture to the meat. Hi Mountain has some really good ones. Just cuts the drying time down by a ton.
Usually every year that I get a deer I eat the back straps and the rest of it get turned into jerky! The uds I made will run 150 with 1 vent half open for about 12 hours on 1 basket. I love it!
Heck ya Mike!!! That pit you made sounds perfect brother!! Man venison jerky is so dang good too!! Like always brother, thanks for watching and I hope you have a great week!!!
Great looking Jerky Ricer!! That PK smoker rocked it out!! Homemade Jerky is the way to go!👍 thanks for sharing brother, have yourself a great week, you all stay safe!👍👊🍻
Heck ya Craig, so much cheaper than gas station jerky!!! hahaha Plus it always tastes better when you make it yourself!! Like always brother I appreciate you watching!!! Have a great week brother!!
Heck ya Jeremy, PS has several kits and I will say everything I have had of theirs so far has been good to incredible! Thanks for watching and I appreciate you leaving a comment brother!
Excellent work on this video Jeff, and man that jerky looked spot on brother! Makes me want to make another batch just in time for cooler weather that coming!
Thanks Rus!! Man that PS Prime Rib Jerky Kit made it super easy and the PK 100 is a jerky machine!! We are almost out and the only reason why I have any left is because I hid a bag in the freezer so the boys don't find it!! hahaha I appreciate you watching Rus!!
Nice wish I could afford a 2k smoker for my jerky. I love making jerky though on the PB 1600 will have to try that seasoning. I usually make 6 lbs at a time and it doesn't last a day at work.
Ya William this pit is 100% made for cold or low temp smoking! I did bacon Saturday and the PK did an amazing job! That video will be out in a couple weeks. The 1600 can crush out the jerky for sure!! Thanks for watching brother!!
Thing is gonna sound crazy. I have been using a fishing filette knife since I was like 4 (30 now) that my papa (g-pa) passed down to me. The old cheap plastic handled Eagle Claw from Wal-Mart. Those things are beautiful for cleaning anything.
Ya bro this is so nice to have around the house for my kids! They take a couple pieces to school so they got a little protein in their locker incase they get hungry! If they sell any they better start paying me to make it!! ha ha Thanks for watching brother!
Ya I do it both ways but I will say I like it with the grain and dried out a bit more. It just seems to last a little longer especially with 2 teenage boys in the house!! hahaha Thanks for watching brother!
Thanks Claude!! Jerky is really easy and these kits make is as simple as a Betty Crocker cake mix!! I appreciate you watching brother and I hope you are doing well!!

Dead Broke BBQ - I'm from Wisconsin as well. Didn't know you were from here until I watched this video again today. What part of the state are you from ?
Excellent video ! Oh BTW, here’s a side note. I believe that the air flow plate is a damper, not dampener. Here is the definition. “An HVAC damper (also called a duct damper) is a movable plate, located in the ductwork, that regulates airflow and redirects it to specific areas of the home. Dampers are typically used in zoning or “zone control” systems.” Just my 2 cents. Still a very good video, thanks !
what about mixing red wine into the seasoning instead of water? Might be good, I never made i myself but homemade jerky is so much better than store bought.
Heck yeah I love making jerky and that beast looks like a jerky machine! It does disappear in no time, I always have to set some aside or I get none. Awesome job brother!
The PK Smoker is a great unit. I do prefer my jerky a bit on the chewy side. I'll use a simple Teriyaki sauce for the marinade but that mix you used looks great. Now what beer would that pair with? A cold one or two of course. Ricer have a great day.😄🍻👍
Ya this little pit is so easy to run for the cold or low temp smoking! I really like what PS Seasoning has for their curing kits! Really helps people that want to try these types of cooks but are nervous and the measurements! I got a Teriyaki kit from them that I will do on the LSG eventually!! Thanks for watching brother!!
Next time, save the marinade. About halfway thru the smoke/drying process, brush additional marinade on. The extra moisture is negligible to your drying time, and it adds a ton of extra flavor.
Hang on there sparky! 😂 Make sure you boil it first. You definitely cannot just apply the marinade to partially cooked meat without getting rid of all the bacteria thats in there first.
Dang sorry!! Well one of these days I will do a "from scratch" version of jerky and post the recipe!! I just like using the kits, less math and less time measuring ingredients!!! hahaha Thanks for watching!!!!
Its oke m8, using kits is nothing wrong with that, if they were available in my country i would buy that also, so no worries, looking forward to the video where you make it from scratch. They really look delicious, and in my country i never seen anyone prepare meat like that, which ofc makes me curious of the food, might be a nice add between the normal food we eat here. anyways thanks for the reply.@@DeadBrokeBBQ
I have loaded smokers up with 6 racks of jerky. It gets so damp inside that black soot will drop down onto the jerky.. You have to watch how loaded up your smoker is.
