    I love my Lenco tabs! I upgraded from the basic switch panel to the controls that have the LED position indicator, this panel also auto retracts the tabs upon key off. Worth the money!

    Is it always a better option to use stainless machine screws with nut/washer combo if you have backside access or am I overthinking it and for boats just sheetmetal screws are fine?

    Just watched the video. I am wondering why you didn't use starboard and attach it to the nuts that were already there? Is starboard not strong enough to handle the pressure? Seems like it would have given you more leeway with the unit to get it out of the water flow which I think you were looking for.

    Oh there he is! Been a while! Just the video i needed too😂 i need tabs on my boat. What do you guys do about cleaning up that 4200/5200 that oozes out? Or leave it be?

    • @BornAgainBoating
      @BornAgainBoating  Рік тому +3

      We just use simple green or de-greaser quickly, don't let it sit once it oozes out :) you gotta spray it with the de-greaser to keep the surrounding area wet and wipe it off immediately :)

    I love my Lenco tabs I put in last year, but now have two problems with my 18ft Sea Pro. First tabs are pushing water into the outboard motor and causing cavitation and second it creating noise that interferes with my depth finding while under way. Moved sending unit twice and still can’t get good readings while underway. 😢. Thinking of adding stainless angle to direct splash straight back on engine side of tabs. Anyone have any advise?

    • @tcap7917
      @tcap7917 Рік тому +1

      did you call Lenco? Which tab style and size?

    • @jamesstublen6098
      @jamesstublen6098 Рік тому

      Did not contact them yet. Lenco Marine 15104-102 that are 9 x12 tabs. Could not go out to 4’’ from the end of hull because through hull drains. I know they make a tab that the ends are turned down which would probably help.

    I made static trim tabs for my boat,could not afford the shop ones starting at €500
    I just use 3mm thick aluminium about 6inch wide by 9 inch long and a piece of stainless steel to bracket it to the boat, cost me nothing as I had all the bits there, couldn't believe the difference they made to the boat, it gets up on plane faster and higher top speed also!
    Don't be fooled into buying expensive trim tabs, just make your own in 15min and enjoy:)
