Can't believe I came here for a boring educational video to be a better driver, and I ended up having fun and even laughed so hard while learning. Love your videos!!
I'm glad this video exists, because honestly, people use the horn waaaaay too much for the wrong reasons. There is no need to overuse it that much, and it's annoying. It's insane how many people just want to use it for no reason. In the first example with those large vehicles, those are situations where it's annoying that people use the horn, and it's happened to me a lot. If you can't see anyone because of how big a vehicle is, there's no need to use the horn, because it's for a good reason most likely. Again, driving is about being able to analyze everything in front of you and around you. Looking through car windows to get a feel for the situation is something I often do, especially when it comes to braking. You have to over analyze so that you make the right decisions, especially when it comes to using the horn appropriately.
Thank you Mr. Carols, I have watched your whole list of videos and the amount of knowledge I was able to take away with me and apply it to real life is very much helpful, thank you!
A guy behind me leaned on his horn because I was waiting to turn right on a red light. There was a large truck in the adjacent left lane, pulled up past the stop line. So I had absolutely zero vision to my left. I decided to simply wait for green as the safest option. When it's *my* life on the line, honk all you want, unless I can tell it's safe, I will wait.
Same thing happened to me the other day. I accept I’m a bit slower as a student driver, but I’d rather take the extra few seconds to make sure I actually have visibility than blindly trust the horn behind me to tell me that it’s safe
I just flash my headlights if someone in front of me is distracted on the phone at a green traffic light. I feel like that is more polite, but if that doesnt work then one quick tap.
i was looking this up because my thinking was if someone cut me off 2:17 i should honk to tell them im there and not at a safe distance, and wake up other drivers behind that im having to break or slow down suddenly. seems i was wrong about that,
I find myself having a harder time changing lanes during nighttime because all the cars blind me in the mirrors what can I do to avoid getting blinded by cars with high beams
I remember when I was with my dad and he was driving. After turning, he started accelerating slowly because the roads were covered in puddles and he didn't want to splash a pedestrian, but there was this driver behind us who was driving a bit too fast and honked at us aggresively and started to overtake us because he was being impatient
Great video, however I disagree with one point. "When someone cuts you off, there's no point in honking, they know they cut you." Incorrect. I know and have seen plenty of drivers who change their lanes without shoulder checking and/or way too quickly. A quick honk lets them know that another driver had to react to avoid an accident. Also, honking can be an embarrassment/lesson for inconsiderate/bad drivers. I mean, if everybody honks at you during your commute, it's kinda hard to justify that they're in the wrong.
If someone tailgates you, instead of using your horn, use your brake lights when you're stopped at a light because the tailgater might not hear the horn.
The horn is for warning other drivers that are not paying attention
Thank you! I already got my license but continue to learn from you
I've had my license for about a year now, but still watch these videos religiously! 😄

Amen!
0:33 is hilarious😭😭
Thank you for your videos, they were mixed with great learning points as well as great sense of humor. I passed the class 5 road test today :)
Thanks a lot! Badly need this reminder driving back here in the Philippines!
Another useful and informative video, thank you!
sometime using horn in the wrong way might provoke driver causing road rage
Great ❤❤❤❤l love it the way you explained

Very good things, we need Drivers just like you.
Love it. So informative
Of course not common in cities, but when driving in remote areas with tight roads and hairpin bends, the horn might be of good use too.
Thanks for the video!!

Hahahahahhah I love this video 😂
you are too creative

@6:17, the driver was probably ONLY using his rear reverse camera.

agree
Agreed, and it can also bring the driver to others' attention so they can be more careful around them.
In Germany we use "The Horn" after a second always, when someone doesent move when the traffic light turns green
Update please 😢
Best ever🙏🙏
Is this rule applies in Europe
This has to be Montreal that you are driving in?
When are you going to make the video "The Vehicle Itself as a Form of Communication"?
Liked because of that rainy day story 💀💀💀💀
Ding Dong!
Im done watching your vid lists 137 6months no updates

I will watch all the videos in the channel but I wish you separate other languages with different channels
in Africa it is another story🤣🤣🤣
😂
Brother, can you translate your videos into Arabic?
