  • In May of 1961, John F. Kennedy made his only trip to Canada as president, to speak to a joint session of Parliament. But that was not his first, nor maybe even his most famous visit to our country. Four years earlier, then-Senator John Kennedy came to Toronto to participate in a much-publicized debate at the University of Toronto's Hart House. The man he debated? Stephen Lewis, our former UN ambassador & former leader of the Ontario NDP. Stephen Lewis reflects on that day with Steve Paikin.
