As we take a drive through pigeon forge tennessee we check for any pigeon forge flooding and see how the pigeon forge crowds are. We then drive into Gatlinburg Tennessee to see how bad the Gatlinburg flooding is and see the Gatlinburg crowd levels after hurricane helene. Thankfully there was not too smoky mountain flooding and most of the major roads were able to remain open. We also check out the Dollywood crowds and hopefully give you peace of mind about your upcoming visit!

Sarah. Please call ahead and speak with local police station or local highway officials, city hall, etc., to be sure its OK to visit where you intend. Right now, it's been advised for many locations, stay off the roads. The infrastructure will take a long time to rebuild, and people needlessly in the way, may be ill-advised. Check ahead, please. It has been a VERY long time since I have been there. It was 1975. That is pre-Dollywood. As I remember it, Pigeon Forge was just a mall town. The Wheels of the Century trailer club stayed at a KOA Campground outside of Pigeon Forge. I imagine that is long gone. At the campground, I met a very nice lady from the Detroit area, Anna Mary and we fell for each other. I was in the USAF stationed at Griffiss AFB, Rome, NY. That base is long gone now. My parents lived between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, MI. Long distance dating sure ain't easy. We tried our best but sadly it just didn't work out.
None of what you showed in the video was there way back then. Oh how that area has grown and grown.

That fire was the first thing I thought of and it’s comparison to this devastation from flooding. What a contrast in the two catastrophes. Both very tragic and heartbreaking to witness. My wife and I have come down to what we call OUR cabin in Severeville every year to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary since 2006 when our first Anniversary trip to the Caribbean got cancelled due to a hurricane. We fell in love with these mountains and this area right away and have considered it our 2nd home for the last 17 straight years. We’ll be back for number 18 in November and looking forward to many more memories yet to come. We’re praying for the whole southeast now in hope of relief very soon. We are very fortunate here in Kentucky to have avoided this kind of tragic destruction this time around but we HAVE been through it before and can relate to these folks. God’s mercy and grace are never ending. Remember that and hold on to it. Peace is on the way!

oh my goodness by the Apple Barn that is really up. We love this spot so very much and the Apple Valley Comfort Inn. Like home away from home. Gatlinburg is such a wonderful place also so many great memories. So thankful to see that the damage so many are suffering today in other parts of the states like Asheville NC and area mostly spared Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. You do an excellent job of reporting and videoing. One of the best. Blessings to you and your family.

Still planning on coming down around the fourth of Oct. Not concerned at all with things being shut down while we're there, more concerned about the trip down and any little unexpected surprises during that part of the trip. They've done a great job over the years of being able to minimize the disruption to tourism that comes with these floods, something I'm willing to bet has been a frequent issue whenever there is any heavy rain in the area.

Wow, I'm a senior aged Memphian who spends a week in Gatlinburg most years, often about this time of year. I used my Westgate week in Branson back in May. I've done so a few times as a change of pace, but I like Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge much better. Your video blew my mind. I was also in Gatlinburg shortly after the fire in 2016. Downtown Gatlinburg along the Parkway was minimally affected but I saw a large home on the big hill just northwest of the Parkway that was burned to the ground. Several other homes up the hill were also damaged. Westgate Smokey Mountain was heavily impacted. More than half the buildings were burned to the ground. Looking forward to getting back in the spring.

Yeah wears valley Townsend area i used to live im in Maryville TN now. About 30 minutes away from pigeon forge. I usually cut through wears valley to get there. Or old walland highway if I want to go through the mountains in the back road were my Papaw used to have his shine stills back in the day. There's still one on the mountain from decades ago. There's a natural spring that's been piped into then you can get good spring water driving down through old walland

In Clearwater on business matters and will be for couple years so I rented my place out in Gatlinburg. Many got flooded out with storm surge here but I live in a non evac zone (42 ft above SL in Belleair), 80 MPH gusts at 8 pm and disconcerting but no issues overall. Tennessee is probably the best state in the nation. Tennessee makes Texas look like a blue state. No state tax in TN. Lowest Real Estate Taxes in nation, lowest everything basically. Why more folks don't live in eastern TN boggles the mind. The beauty is second to none. Nice video. I'll be back to Gatlinburg soon. Keep up the nice videos.
