Dave, great hunt! I consider it a successful bow hunt when you see a “ shooter”. Right place, right time, wrong range! It’s the rut, hard to sit on the “ X” when it’s constantly moving! Thought these Kentucky hunts were some of your best ungulate adventures so far. Keep it up!
You come here to Kentucky from out of state probably on a gigantic national forest, video multiple giant bucks and still guys on here are telling you what you could have and should have done lol. In wide open woods like that I doubt grunting would help. Great videos man, you are a living legend.
Hit em with the snort wheeze! I've never had a straight grunt turn one, but in the past two years i've killed three with a snort wheeze. Little harder in that open timber tho, they can see a little too much. Great vid Dave!
Get yourself a doe bleat can call ..... perfect time to use it. Seems to outperform the grunt call when bucks are chasing. You definitely had some hot does around you.

Murdering innocent animals is pathetic. Hunting is barbaric and subhuman behavior. People who hunt have psychological issues. We need to make laws protecting animals from these sub humans. Hunting should be a crime, hunters should go to jail.

Hunting is legalized murder. Hunters kill these animals because there are no laws protecting them and these animals cannot protect themselves. There is no benefit to society for hunting, it is not noble. It is not a sport, there is nothing sporting about it. Hunters hunt to get away with murder, plain and simple. It is sad. Our closest relative in the animal kingdom is a Gorilla, he contains 98% the same DNA as a humans. He is mostly a herbivore and is at least 5 times the strength of humans. He does not need to murder, we should learn from him.

Should have had bow in hand prior to doe running up hill. As many bucks was around you one of them was going to push her some direction.
Why don’t you try grunting a little bit? Woods too open? I figure you can call anything in they way you handle the turkeys!
That combined with the tricky winds in the ridge and valley areas. Always seems to be a disadvantage to let them know where you’re at.
A high powered rifle would solve a lot of your problems.
