I have heard that you must be more than two feet away from the receivers in order for the Neewer P16 to work. Not sure why, but touching the transmitter with your hand affects the signal. Once the receiver is on the camera everything will work fine!
Thanks for making this! I'm glad that there is a better alternative to those crap transmitters that I bought. I'm also glad that somebody actually made a video about these too.
Are these triggers compatible with the Neewer NW561 speedlite? I purchased a replacement FC-16 off of amazon and received the wrong trigger (FC-16R) twice. I am looking for another remote/flash trigger set for my Nikon.
Thanks Man i just brought the Neewer 16 Channels Wireless Radio Flash Speedlite Studio Trigger Set and I'm just getting started in photography and i am on a budget. So I am not looking to break the bank on triggers and receivers.
Hi Steven, thanks for the review. Can you help? I have 2 speedlight and a strobe like you show in the video. My question is, can I connect ct-16 receiver to the strobe using a the sync cable or I need to buy a specif receiver for the strobe. I saw in Amazon a pack with a transmitter and 3 receivers and it would be perfect for me. Thanks for your help.
I found a fix if you have VS860ii flash. Just drill bigger hole in the middle of receiver shoe and make the contact bigger. I think that this CT-16 does not work in Godox Wistro and Ving -flashlights, definetly does not work in VS860ii without moding.
Good question. I'm honestly not too sure since were talking about different brands now and I was only able to cover the CT-16 not the FC-16. I would contact Neewer over their Facebook page support chat. They should be able to answer this for you!
Hi there. A few days ago I purchase the ct 16 and I’ve been having a minor issue with it. Whenever I take the first shot the flash does not fire. I tried this many times and always on the first shot the flash is not triggered. Is there something I can do to fix this?
I am absolutely not getting your test criteria and inference. You call good for these second set triggers that you mentioned are the working reliable ones. I see that top flash not working in first attempt 3:38 I see the lower flash not working in third attempt 3:42 So What is that you call GOOD? Or is that we are missing something?!!
I appreciate you so much taking the time to comment. I want to state that the speed of the light versus the shutter speed of the camera will not show the true results from your side. This is why I talk my way through the review because the shutter is much slower then the speed of the flash. Rest assured that I point out only when they fail or when they pass my testing. I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you have any questions.. Thanks again!
I thought so. But highly appreciate your return and lightening speed reply (You ought to be a Flash Master, in all you do!!! :-) Thx my friend for the good work and suggestion. Also to add, I see why the sellers are trying to dump out all the PT type triggers, as I just saw a package of 4 trigger receiver, 1 transmitter and 2.5mm sync cord all for $27! and thinking there must be reason for this TGTBT price, checked the YT. Guess sellers have already seen your clip and you must be getting famous. Keep up the good work as you deserve a lot more.
I just learned the hard way. Received my pt-16gy today, advertised to work with Canon cameras and their 580EX flash. Followed all the directions and ... nada, nothing, not one flash. Very disappointed, probably not worth returning.
Hmm strange. I don't own the 70d so I really am not sure though I did find a nifty article that may help. Let me know if it does! stateoftech.net/flash-control-settings-on-canon-70d/
Which model do you have? And are the batteries put in correctly? And turned on? There should be a little res indicator light when you press the test button on the transmitter
Funny thing i just bought the good version but under the godox brand, maybe godox owns the good version and neewer just bought the rebranding for both models without much research
Have you tried, or able to use these as a remote shutter release and trigger your ofc simultaneously? I have two transmitters and plenty of receivers, I can make it trigger the shutter, I can make it trigger the flash, just not at the same time.
I was wondering the same! As I’m thinking of buying another set with a transmitter in order to do this... But from a little searching, it seems to me that you can’t. I think a transmitter can only trigger the flashes OR the camera. But I’m not 100% sure. It’s not clear. So if anyone knows... do tell! I’m also wondering if you can use different brands or models from the same brand, to all work together? For example, a Canon trigger with a Neewer transmitter... OR, A new Neewer transmitter with a different/older trigger? Hope that makes sense. (I’m not so technologically minded!) Would love to know before spending! Cheers :)
Thanks.....b Partly necause of your review I bought the CT 16s....and very happy with them. Also the remote trigger van trip your shutter also if you set it up.
Steven Ramon Films btw against your advice I ordered the PT-16GY triggers and it arrived today. Mine seems to trigger my amazon basics flash just fine 10/10 times. Maybe I was thinking yours might have been a defective unit or the AAA battery in the receiver unit was low? Or maybe there is too much interference in the area for the signal and it can’t cut through. Either way, thanks again for the video and “heart” ing my comment.

Really! I'll have to test that out. Thank you!
Neewer and Godox have identical looking ct 16s; are they compatible?
Probably. A lot of these companies share manufactures. Not 100% though to be honest!
Thanks for making this! I'm glad that there is a better alternative to those crap transmitters that I bought. I'm also glad that somebody actually made a video about these too.
Of course! So glad it helped!
how do you change the transmitter batteries for the good one the ct-16?? very informative and good video btw

Thank you so much for this video! Just received my 16GY and it wasn't even turning on. So I found this video and you've confirmed all my concerns lol
No problem! Glad I could help!

You're welcome!
man I was on the fence on which ones to buy and was leaning towards the CT16's, thanks for the nudge in the right direction.
My pleasure! And thanks for commenting!
Question: the CT16 when I use it, it gives me an overexposure of light, how can I change this so that the images are not overexposed with light? thx
So for the C-16..love it..How do you replace the battery in the transmitter or do you just buy a new one?

Great question. I'll double check when I get to the studio and let you know 👍
@@StevenRamonFilms Thanks for your time. I´ll be waiting for your answer.

do the ct-16 model support rear curtain sync? thanks
And the one you are testing would be attached to the camera body right ?
Thank you for this presentation. May I ask, have you tested the operating distance, outside and inside?
Can I trigger two FC-16 receivers one mounted on 5dIII and another attached to a YONGNUO YN685 speedlite by a single neewer FC-16 trigger?

Great video, a just buy 2 pack of CT-16 because the 16GY dont work anymore, having lot of issues in sessions
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the comment and best of luck with the new set!
how do you change the a23 small battery in the small transmitter?
the TC 16 weren't working either :(
hello I have the newer vision 4 battery powered strobe& the newer 750ii speed lightt
will the PT 16GY WORK WITH BOTH OF THESE DEVICES?

I believe most of these manufacturers provide their products under various brands and names.

Does the CT-16 work outdoors
Thanks for commenting! Yes they do but I wouldn't let them get wet!
Have PT 16GY and work no bother every time. Looks like you might have faulty and should send them back for replacement not put bad review
Thank you, exactlly what I needed to know!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Puedes hacer un tuotiral de como usarlo con una Camara Canon T6 y un flash Yongnuo 560III. ya que he comprado uno pero aun no se utlizarlo
Try mounting the transmitter on the t6 and receivers on the flashes.

SOlid video! i needed this knowledge you shared
the second one works as bad as the first one. first three trials: 1) only the lower flash worked, 2) both worked, 3) only the higher one did.
Hi, Thanks for commenting. The camera does not all capture the flash due to the speed of the strobe versus the camera frame rate.
I have a huge problem with trigger too. Not reliable at all.
Yes, I had to return them since they just don't work. The second set works fine however.
The Second set didn't flash every time either
The newer set worked fine actually. I think you are noticing the camera's frame rate is significantly lower than the strobe speed.
I noticed that too.
Thanks for commenting. The newer set worked fine. Maybe you're noticing the shutter versus speed of the light being offset.
Thanks a lot 🌺 that help so far..
My pleasure! Glad to have helped.
Glad I did research ...whew
Me too!
I have these and can't get them to work with my Nikon flash or anything. waste of money.
Hi Ross, Thanks for the comment. I would return them. They work great for my Canon and have never let me down even to this day!
very helpful. Thank you so much :)
Thank you helpful indeed
No problem
Flash doesn’t trigger at 3:53 lol
The shutter speed of the camera didn't catch the flash is all. The test was to show that they work. :) thank you for commenting!
