Same here. I nearly lost my wife and daughter during childbirth due to pre-eclampsia. Maxed out on three blood pressure medicines and still hitting 190-110, and then dropping not a minute later to 90-30, and the bpm for my daughter dropped below 30. The room filled with doctors who ripped everything out of the walls and took them both out, without saying a word to me about what was happening. All I could do was sit down and focus on breathing, because I knew if I moved I'd do something I'd regret, even though it was no one's fault.
Thank you for sharing. My prayers are with Atticus. Most people do not know my wife and I lost a child due to similar circumstances. We are lucky indeed, to be living in these times. Best wishes. Professor Dungeonmaster, Dungeoncraft.
Daughter was born a month premature. Her lungs were weak and she suffered from high levels of bilirubin. She nearly died the day after she was brought home. Wife did CPR on her and got her back. Took her to hospital where she was placed in a tank with ultraviolet light (phototherapy) in an effort to get her liver to start working. I forget how many days we stayed in the hospital. The infant mortality statistics reported by countries is according to their own standards. Those standards vary greatly from nation to nation. Thank you. You often say that you are the most fortunate or lucky, I don't believe you truly understand how fortunate and lucky we are to have you as a representative in our community. As a teacher, father, and RPG enthusiast I am so glad that you are here with us in this time . Thank you so much for all you do and how much you care.🤟
Thank you for raising awareness of this disease, but also of the importance and indispensability of good healthcare and what it means not to have it. I live in a privileged country in Germany as far as healthcare is concerned, as it is available to everyone, but for many it is not. So a plea to everyone, if you can do anything to help, do it to protect those who can't help themselves and have no luck in the birth lottery. Thank you!
My friend... your authenticity is inspiring. I have seen very few people who radiate kindness, concern, and passion the way you do. Sharing your story and using your platform to spread awareness and raise money for those less fortunate warms my heart. The world would be a better place with more people like you in it. Keep up the good fight, and much love from me to you. I'm happy to give what I can.
I'm so glad everything worked out for your family, and it's such a great thing you're doing for these charities. They do amazing work and deserve all the support they get.
@dragonmagelet thank you for correcting me. In the video we were told 5%, hence the confusion. I'm just glad that the truth wasn't understated (and also glad it's not actually 5%)
My heart goes out to you and your family, with a child of my own I find these videos vary hard to watch, I never want to imagine what it would be like to go through what your family is going through. Best of luck and stay strong..
well for 1) thank goodness all worked out ok for the kids, absolutely an answer to prayer. Great news, and I applaud your move of compassion for others families in the thick of this. As a Ryoko backer, i am glad you have taken a step back, this is the priority. As excited as I am for the completion, I am happy you have been able to be supportive of family and it is my hope you take all the time you need in this before continuing the project. Blessings from Tennessee!
As a twin, I cant imagine living without him. If I knew he had died in the womb a big part of me would be missing. So glad to have him around. Happy that your family got to grow!

I very glad to hear that both babys are doing good, this video was very important, and I hope many people will be touch by it! My daughter is 1 and a half years ols and videos like this just make realize how luck i am.
Thank you!! Prayer for you and your family. My good friend and colleague experienced this 2 years ago. Stella was born 6 weeks early, and spent 3 months at McMaster Children’s hospital in Hamilton Ontario Canada. Blessings to those doctors and nurses and Ronald McDonald’s house. Good on you for doing this!! ❤
I'm sitting here crying in relief that your nephews are fine - thank you for drawing attention to these charities! All the best to your sister and her children!
I recently had a former professor, and also admittedly, a somewhat close friend lose their child. My heart was broken for them. My family and I were as supportive as can be because I was a very unhealthy infant and my parents know that stress and constant fear. I can’t claim to understand that fear. But these things happening is such a heart breaking thing. My thoughts and heart go out to anyone dealing with this. And my thanks and most sincere gratitude to these charities, the surgeons, and anyone who helps the families and children as much as possible. I wouldn’t be here without them.
@@Supremax67 Yeah, by no means is anybody saying that 1 in 200 is fantastic (although it's better than it has been in a lot of other time periods, or than it is in many places still). We're just clarifying that he obviously misspoke when he said 5% (which would be 1 in 20), but was correct when he clarified 1 in 200. 1 in 200 is correct.
The obvious caring and generosity of your character is the main reason that I watch you. I’m so happy for your nephews and hope they have long productive lives. I’m sure that it will happen because of the palatable love in your family.
I admire your resolve. Talking on topics like this is not easy. I love that you are though. Awareness of a topic like this can make all the difference. Stay strong and take advantage of the precious time you have with family. Every moment is a blessing.
You say you can do significantly little, but it is you, and people like you that are the reason charities and research get funded. You are making the biggest difference by enabling others to do things you cannot.
I am so happy for your sister and your family and the twins. You're bang on about being lucky. My daughter died this past April from compliations due to a premature rupture of membranes. She was three hours old. When we asked the doctors what we could have done, they said there was nothing. Most prenatal complications are just random. A lot of them are fatal. Good healthcare can even the odds dramatically. Thank you for talking about this. And again, I am so happy for your family. That is such a gift and a joy.
Our first son had a rough birth, and he spent two weeks in the NICU before we were able to get him home before Christmas. Much love to the babies and parents out there. Thank you for the reminder of how blessed we truly are.
Wil, you had me on the first half. I am glad your intuition was correct and both babies were fine and Atticus is recovering well. I have 3 young kids myself and one just born this year, they're truly little precious ones. May health and good fortune follow you all further into the future.
I could hear the fear in your voice. I am so glad to hear you and yours are doing good. We all can hear and feel how strongly you feel about this. Thank you for adding your voice.
I know a few people who lost children to CDH and other birth issues. It's never easy, and I am so happy to see you talking about this issue. I'm so glad to hear your sister and both little ones came through it.
It's inspiring that you're using your platform to help others in need, and you've inspired me to join in and donate. Atticus & Luther are in my thoughts and prayers, and I look forward to hearing of your RPG adventures with them in the years to come. Peace, love and blessings to you and the fam!
Sir, you do great at balancing the thing you do as a job, v.s. some times we jsut need to talk, and share what experiences we go through. you are a role model
Thank you so much for sharing. I am so happy to hear that your nephews are safe and healthy. I’m in my early 20s and father of two. Unfortunately, our first child went to be with the Lord one week after we became aware of their existence. That truly flipped my world upside down. Hearing your story brought me to tears. Your kind words about this topic really touched me. Thank you for sharing your story and using your platform to let others know they are not alone.
Adorable little future GM's. I can remember my eye opening moment the first time I saw my daughter. Knowing that we wasn't even supposed to be able to have kids and then being truly blessed with a healthy little girl and my wife was okay. It's a total mix of fellings and realization.
I was born over a month late with several extreme complications at the time of my birth. I was lucky in that I was born in a country with socialised medicine and doctors who cared and charity organisations like the one in the video. Its so crucially important for us and our families to keep care available -- and ideally, to increase access. This is such a good thing you're doing and I'm SO happy to hear your nephews are ok.
My wife and I lost our first child. I'm glad your nephews and your sister are well. Your realization that we are all equal in the face of death is valuable. Thank you for your efforts!

My 6-month-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily, she's still with us 2 years later, but it was, no contest, the scariest and most horrible experience of my life to consider my baby girl's mortality. We give where we can and hope to be able to give more one day. The help we received while going through it honestly made a huge difference. Thanks for sharing this!
Will, thank you so much for sharing. As a brand-new father of twins (boy and girl) I was in absolute tears. Our twins just turned 4 months and we are incredibly blessed to have them with us after their NICU stay as well. I'm so glad the boys are doing well. The twin community is strong and we're here for each other... we have to be.
My youngest son is 2.5 years old and was diagnosed with Left-sided CDH early in my pregnancy. The doctors who study and treat CDH around the world are incredible and caring. As a fellow CDH family, thank you for being so open about this very scary and variable condition! Best of luck and love to you, your nephew and his family!
I lost my son about 8 weeks before his due date. This video hits me. You arent a doctor or nurse, but you are helping to PAY for one. That's just as good IMO.
You have my respect for bringing this up. Not a downer at all, but an uplifting reminder that we should be thankful for life and health. Neither are to be taken for granted and will not stay around forever.
As a father of a child who was born at 32 weeks and living at a “family house” while she was in NICU for a month and a half, I was hanging on your every word hoping you would not tell us what is all too common in NICU stories. I am so happy for your sister and her partner to “get lucky” as they did. Thank you for sharing. I hope your donation totals are legendary!
As a father who has lost one of my children, I commend you and your message. I am thankful there are people like you wanting to help and use your platform for the good of humanity. Much love from the States 🫶
Great message. You are right. We should talk about it more. We should all advocate for affordable and accessible healthcare. Being a children's hospital after my youngest daughter's birth and meeting other families while there, changed my life and understanding of the world on a visceral level. She's doing great now, thirteen years later. My wife and I have been raising money and advocating for better health care options ever since. Thanks for sharing your story. I wish you and your sister and her family and your new nephews all the best.
Will continue praying for improved health for the twins and comfort for the parents. You're a good man, thank you for using the platform you have to help those around you.
As a new father myself, thank you for sharing your family's struggle. I can only imagine what your sister, her partner, and your family went through. Miracles happen...often through the hands of a stranger wearing scrubs.

Praise the surgeons and the medical staff..
Praise the researchers, nurses, doctors, and other staff that saved the baby’s life.
praise the past 4000 years of development in medical knowledge and technology
God tried to kill his nephew. The doctors saved him. May wanna reevaluate whom you praise.
I spent the first months of my life in the NICU. I’ll be here for all of whatever you’re supporting Will! Congrats on being an Uncle! Thanks for all you do! 💚
We'll join you on this journey, as long as you allow us, and we will be support you through it. All the love, mate
Best D&D content channel, truly
Thank you for taking the time to use your platform for importing things like this. Your candid energy and integrity make the message stand out .
Thank you!
Seriously one of my favorite UA-camrs. You have a huge community supporting you man.
They are precious...very brave to share the story, and I appreciate all that you do for the hobby, and clearly beyond...
❤ Much respect to you for this, and love to your family.
5% mortality is 1 in 20, not 200.
I'm sincerely glad that your nephews have come through it though. This is a topic that needs to be talked about more
Mortality rate is calculated per 1000 live births.
@dragonmagelet thank you for correcting me.
In the video we were told 5%, hence the confusion. I'm just glad that the truth wasn't understated (and also glad it's not actually 5%)
Im happy for you and your family much love from Michigan. Much love to all the nurses and doctors in the world.
My heart goes out to you and your family, with a child of my own I find these videos vary hard to watch, I never want to imagine what it would be like to go through what your family is going through. Best of luck and stay strong..
sending a hug across the pond.
well for 1) thank goodness all worked out ok for the kids, absolutely an answer to prayer.
Sending best wishes and love
As a twin, I cant imagine living without him. If I knew he had died in the womb a big part of me would be missing. So glad to have him around. Happy that your family got to grow!
Amazing, absolutely amazing that even in the harsh times we all are going through, there are people that are kind.
as soon as I’m home I would like to support a little for these charities
I very glad to hear that both babys are doing good, this video was very important, and I hope many people will be touch by it! My daughter is 1 and a half years ols and videos like this just make realize how luck i am.
Thank you for sharing this with us. You're one of the best.
Don’t have anything else to say that others haven’t, but I’m still commenting for the algorithm and to say I’m glad your family is okay ❤
Man, I started shaking when you gave the warning. As a father, I can't imagine anything happening to my kids. All the love to your family ❤
Well done with this initiative and thank you for sharing your story. 🍻 to you and yours.
I'm sitting here crying in relief that your nephews are fine - thank you for drawing attention to these charities!
All the best to your sister and her children!
Thank you for sharing your story.
The infant mortality rate in the US is half a percent, not 5%. You correctly stated it as 1 in 200
Yes, 5‰ not 5%
1 in 200 are pretty big odds. For instance, people plays the lottery and those odds are usually 1 in 20,000,000.
They measure it by the 1000, so it’s 5% of 1000
@@bobertastic6541I know you mean well, but 5% of 1000 is 50 so still 5% and 1 in 20. I think you mean 5 (vs 5%)?
The obvious caring and generosity of your character is the main reason that I watch you. I’m so happy for your nephews and hope they have long productive lives. I’m sure that it will happen because of the palatable love in your family.
bump! (hoping more people see this video so it gets more money)
Fantastically said. I have repeatedly appreciated your voice on issues of empathy and understanding others.
how dous this have dislikes
I dont get people
I admire your resolve.
Virtual hug, man. Being an uncle changes you. Thank you for taking the time to bring these charities some awareness.
My son was here 13 days. I'm so very glad your sister didn't have my story. May your family be healed as Atticus grows and begins to thrive.
As a worker for the NHS, I'd like to say I'm glad everything worked out for your nephews and thank you for giving support to staff who deserve it. I hope you make many wonderful memories with them and teach them many many dumb things to do in dnd
I'm a parent of five kids with a wife that works in the medical field. I appreciate your willingness to share such a terrifying time & using your platform to raise both awareness & funds. I'm so incredibly relieved for your sister & your family.
I love your videos - my DM and the rest of my party love them too. We could tell you're funny, charismatic, creative, articulate, and smart.
But now we know you're also kind and sensible and immensely respectable.
You're a good man.
I genuinely don’t know what to say here, but I want to help this video reach more people, we love you shorts, thanks for bringing this topic attention
