    Great video, thanks for sharing. Did you use any volume reduction spacers for the fork and the rear shock? if so what would your recommend?

    • @michal.stachanczyk
      @michal.stachanczyk  2 місяці тому +1

      Thanks @thereedsea! ...and no, I was not adding nor removing volume spacers. Both fork and shock is running with default (according to manual) setup. I have no issues with progression nor bottoming out and default setup process, in both cases, works fine for me.

      Any tips? Advices? Or caution?? to how you have install the new forks with the internal cable routing? Is it just straight forward following the old fork set up? Thank you in advance.

      @@jerichojamielazaro8554Nothing fancy here, except this canyon's/acros "blocklock" system, that has that "thing" mount on the steer tube (at the crown), this needs to be moved from old fork to the new one (with proper tools).

    Hi
    How are you getting on with the shimano ep801 motor and canyons battery ?
    I looking very seriously at ordering a cf8
    Thanks

      Hey, no doubt thats a great bike, no complains about motor or battery, not a single issue so far!
      Although, If I were looking for an eb today, I would go for a lighter and nimble one. I'm in a slightly better shape recently, probably, I've never managed to run out the battery (900Wh).

    I have 2023 cf8 with 160 travel after seeing this I’m really tempted to upgrade to the same as you. Im trying to get more of an enduro feel good for better down hill and jumping. Was the shock and fork pretty helpful?

    • @michal.stachanczyk
      @michal.stachanczyk  Рік тому +1

      Hi @jamietyler4099, fork absolutely, 100%, as In this case, I moved from 150mm (?) to 170mm, big difference, that moved weight towards the rear wheel. Good for descents. Shock added plushnes/responsivenes and way more adjustability. I would maybe say, that 70% improvement is due fork, 30% due shock.

    what size shock absorber bushings are needed, I wanted to mount the fox float x factory, but I'm not sure which components and above all what size I need. Thank you

      Hi @cristianRE00, I took bushing/spacers from original shock (Fox Float) and used them with new one (Fox Float X2).
      The new shock length and travel is exactly the same, so no difference here at all. Overall it was pretty straightforward.

      @@michal.stachanczyk thanks, I’m looking for the float x evol but I don’t understand if it’s necessary to get the e-mtb tuned cause I can find it. Just a German web site that sell the “regular” one (the one that I’m looking) but I’ll be available at least in 6 week. I don’t find much here in Italy. For the component I need to buy a new one cause I have rockshok right now. Do you know any measure of bushing/spacer/distance/diameter . I use bikediscount de for my shopping. I never change a shock so I don’t know anything 😅

      in the rear part of the shock absorber instead? there is nothing? Do the lower part bolts unscrew clockwise the one at the top and counterclockwise the one below?

    Nice setup but why buy the CF8 and not the CF7 if you were going to change out everything?

    • @michal.stachanczyk
      @michal.stachanczyk  Рік тому +3

      Good point and I totally agree - the main reason was, if i well remember, at the time of purchase, there was no upgrade to 900Wh in case of CF7 (I wanted 900Wh!), also smaller configuration details (SRAM brakes, center lock hubs, a couple of details - which i don't like).
      In general, if you know exactly what you expect from a bike, buying the cheapest one, for further adjustments is the best way to go - that is why it's (it was) a mid setup from Canyon CF8 and not CF9 (!), which is also no longer available (CF9 is now a CF8).
      Current offer, today is slightly different than the one that was at the beginning of this year, ex. I see forks (FOX) have changed from 150mm to 160mm with new chassis as well - definitely a better match for this bike/frame - 150mm was a mistake, that is fixed now :)

    Bro..... the website says specificlly that this shock is NOT compatible... please help me understand. Why did you choose 170-180 mm fork? asking for a friend

    • @michal.stachanczyk
      @michal.stachanczyk  Рік тому

      Hi @ignaciosevil1944, clearance-wise, no issue with Float X2 (with bottle cage/750ml bottle). Control nobs are faced down, not a problem for me.
      170mm fork, is in fact 1cm more than default spec (160mm, 2023 spec of CF8), so no big change in geo - overall.
      For my style of riding, shifting towards enduro, original fork (150mm, 2022 spec of CF8) was not enough, not able to improve that with more tokens/pressure.
      Cheers!

      i put a 230x65 shock on mine and it actually had a lot of space... using your perspective you could do the same i think... Still wondering did you feel the fork and shock was a lot better ?? thnaks for the response

    • @michal.stachanczyk
      @michal.stachanczyk  Рік тому

      Is frame handling bigger stroke on the shock (original stroke is 60mm, and yours is 65mm), what about bottom bracket clearance...using shock with different, eapecially bigger stroke, sounds like "danger zone"...

      I put a 62.5 mm stroke super deluxe ultimate on mine and so far have had no issues

    Hi! I have strange clicking noise on back and front suspension… I know that there is clicking noise on freewheel in motor… but this is different… Is your bike silent when pressing on fork and on rear suspension??? I have cf 9 with fox fork and fox float suspension

    • @michal.stachanczyk
      @michal.stachanczyk  Рік тому

      Well, in case of front, check headset/stem if its tighten properly (assuming it's not fork itself), squeeze front brake and push, it should go silent and smooth, no movement around head/steer tube.
      For rear, check suspension bolts, and rear linkage bolts - mine was a bit loose (not all, near to rear axle), out of the box...
      ...overall it should be quiet, except Shimano, EP8 motor sounds.

      @@michal.stachanczyk I have no movement, everything tightened to torque... I have that nocking noise since new... I will send it for waranty I guess.

    How does it ride with the 170 up front?

    • @michal.stachanczyk
      @michal.stachanczyk  Рік тому +1

      It rides perfectly fine, significantly more travel on bumpy trails, comparing to 150mm, which i was easily bottoming out.
      Latest versions of this bike comes with 160mm, so it's even less difference in terms of geo.
      Anyways, for my style of riding in case of this bike, 170mm seems to be a sweet spot.
