Mostly right, but some IDF units before early 48 weren't under direct command, and some decentralised units behaved differently than others, for example, some Irgun units pushed into parts of the old city in 1947, and clashed with British forces there who were tasked with upkeeping the mandate. So it kind of depends what you mean by "zionist forces" because if you start in 48 after the formation of the IDF you're right, in the broader context I'd argue its more complex
