Lower class people can seek fulfillment regardless of budget, but as people move up they need more and what has been gained eventually becomes a liability. A life built around a billion dollars will feel a drop to 700 million. They have to lose progress in life and scale down what they own. Also money tends to be a major burden on friendships, especially spanning across classes. A millionaire cant hang out around lower class without expectations and resentment. Thats been my observation at least
There isn't always a craving for more. That's more a thing people who are driven BY money have. The type of people who are unwilling to ever retire despite being millionaires. It's much more likely that the average person who becomes very rich will just eventually get bored. If you can do anything you want whenever, you stop having desires that CAN drive you. If your goal was to save enough money to go to Italy with your family or something, it's not anymore. You can just do that. If your goal was to have a nice house, it's not anymore. Eventually, you do everything you want to do and buy everything you want. Think of all the things you currently WANT to buy or do, but just shouldn't spend money on or are unable to. All of that stuff would be easy to obtain suddenly. As much as you may think right now that it sucks that you can't buy a PS5 or something, those sorts of things are like drivers. In your head, you anticipate having it one day and when you get it, it will be something you appreciate way more. Being able to just have whatever you want makes you appreciate things way less. It would be really fun initially to become really rich and would feel like happiness, but it would absolutely fade.

I cant go back to school despite my fantastic test scores, I have to think about what I eat not in terms of health but price and convenience, I cant go to every doctors appointment I need. Even if youre rich but have something wrong with you like a mental illness or trauma. People with money can go get the best help possible. All my friends are died and i still had to go to work at the same dead end job, no way I can afford hundreds of dollars a month for therapy, on and on and on. Money doesnt buy happiness because theres always the craving for more, and after a point it shifts from ambition to fear. Lower class people can seek fulfillment regardless of budget, but as people move up they need more and what has been gained eventually becomes a liability. A life built around a billion dollars will feel a drop to 700 million. They have to lose progress in life and scale down what they own. Also money tends to be a major burden on friendships, especially spanning across classes. A millionaire cant hang out around lower class without expectations and resentment. Thats been my observation at least

There isn't always a craving for more. That's more a thing people who are driven BY money have. The type of people who are unwilling to ever retire despite being millionaires.
It's much more likely that the average person who becomes very rich will just eventually get bored. If you can do anything you want whenever, you stop having desires that CAN drive you. If your goal was to save enough money to go to Italy with your family or something, it's not anymore. You can just do that. If your goal was to have a nice house, it's not anymore. Eventually, you do everything you want to do and buy everything you want.
Think of all the things you currently WANT to buy or do, but just shouldn't spend money on or are unable to. All of that stuff would be easy to obtain suddenly. As much as you may think right now that it sucks that you can't buy a PS5 or something, those sorts of things are like drivers. In your head, you anticipate having it one day and when you get it, it will be something you appreciate way more. Being able to just have whatever you want makes you appreciate things way less. It would be really fun initially to become really rich and would feel like happiness, but it would absolutely fade.

If i wasnr working 50-60 hours a week at a job i dont particularly like, just to get a day or two of some degree of freedom, after every other non work related responsibility is done.
Id have a much easier time dating, simply more free time, more opportunities, literally everything would he objectively better. I cant go back to school despite my fantastic test scores, I have to think about what I eat not in terms of health but price and convenience, I cant go to every doctors appointment I need. Or even little things like, id be more confident if i fixed this little gap in my teeth lol. Or could travel the world.
Even if youre rich but have something wrong with you like a mental illness or trauma. People with money can go get the best help possible. All my friends are died and i still had to go to work at the same dead end job, no way I can afford hundreds of dollars a month for therapy, on and on and on.
Any problem you have, and u mean ANYTHING, is significantly easier with money. Not a single thing that isnt.
