The Red Rocks performance is legendary. Then again most live performances at Red Rocks are. One of the few venues where you must bring your A game. First Avenue in Minneapolis (Prince's old club) falls into that category.
11:45 - The lightning designer for Opeth, @magnusboyd6613, commented of the lightning on "Andrew Rooney Drums" reaction of this song and I quote him (go check out that vid as well and give your compliments to the guy whilst you are there: "How are the lights synced? I do it all live mate! Well, a lot is programmed, but rythmic figures and stabs are cued by tapping buttons - say as one would play a keyboard! Thanks for a fun video - and the compliment! Best regards, the lighting designer."
Oldpeth/Newpeth depends on the mood for me. The new stuff has it's moments and there are beautiful songs like "Faith in others", but for example the album "Sorceress" is one of my least favorites. But then again everybody has their own taste. I'd say, listen to the whole discography a few times and you'd probably pick a few songs from every album into your "Random, skip 100x times" playlist :D For next suggestions I'd like to recommend: Reverie/Harlequin Forest Deliverance Bleak Windowpane And I'd suggest listening to the studio version first. I love them live and they have one of the best mixes I've ever heard live, but still there are many nuances and stuff on the studio version that's missing live and sometimes don't bring over the full "feeling" of a song imho. Just as a tiny example: They use a lot of acoustic guitars in their tracks, which are live being emulated like they did here aswell but imho Ghost of perdition just sounds so more crisp when you hear the "silent part" with the 12 string playing on the record... Anyway /wallOfText Looking forward to more opeth and as always on Opeth reactions: Hi floridabelle 💐👋😄
🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥 Subbing for more! Recommendations, in addition to the ones already mentioned: Hessian Peel The Grand Conjuratuon Leper Affinity. Old stuff, new stuff, it's hard to say since, to me, it's all Opeth. Sure, there are some tracks that aren't to my liking. If I had to pick my top 3 albums though, they would have to be Watershed, Still Life, and Ghost Reveries. They're mostly clean and growl vocals combined.
I'd go with The Grand Conjuration off Ghost Reveries or perhaps something off their album Still Life. Godheads Lament is a fantastic song. Or like Donc said in the comments. Baying of the Hounds. Can't go wrong with that.
Opeth ❤In before FloridaBelles request of Coil/Heir Apparent as they go hand in hand from the album Watershed. On a personal note I'd recommend 'Blackwater Park' from 'Blackwater Park'.
It really doesn't matter the song you choose, it will always be awesome and different. Opeth is like that.
Welcome to Opeth. Prepare to be amazed! I really enjoyed your reaction. Cheers🤘🏻🇨🇦
All eras of opeth are top notch, early suggestions, forest of October, later ,the river .
And in Swedish or English.

I´m gonna suggest Bayiing of the Hounds, such a banger.

Still Life would be good to start with.
