who would’ve thought that in 2020 both of these legends are making a comeback!!! show these new girls how it’s done! i’ve always loved the sound of the ball on vera’s racket, prince has a good sound to their rackets bc they use large openings for the strings to be placed in.

Had Clijsters remained fit and injury-free, she would still be in the game and, who knows, might have won several more GSs. Too bad she retired so early.

Daniel Rodríguez her priorities were different than say the Williams sisters, she wanted to grow her family. However, physically, she’s one of the few players that would be competitive at 35+, she is physically gifted enough for sure

@@ARZ1987 She definitely is. It was her injuries that didn't allow her to be at her best in 2012, the year she retired for good. She looked out of shape and significantly slower than her best versions.

Daniel Rodríguez I am so glad she came back. I was not a huge fan in the early years because I was team Williams , but she got the much-deserved opportunity to win 3 straight matches against her rival, Henin, who she lost some extremely tight finals to and was just as dominant if not more so against the rest of the field...I have always respected her more than Henin though. That hand incident in 2003 was just poor sportsmanship. Clijsters grew on me over the years because she was a sweet person. Looking back, I think when it comes to her attack, she had the quickest first step and possibly the most explosive player of all time.

Daniel Rodríguez no idea how cllijsters managed to defeat henin at Wimbledon that 2010 summer.. though henin hurt her elbow .... but more shocking clijsters lost to zvonerva at Wimbledon.. that was nuts.. clijsters choked

It sure was incredible to see Kim return during 2009 & 2010, especially because she had just become a new mother. 🙂 I’ll never forget how she beat the top players like Henin, the Williams Sisters (who were both playing very very well at the time), Kvitova, Stosur. She really had an awesome return.

Bcs she applied attacking game so hardly, which is not her style.. if she played as the way she beat Woz it'd be harder match for Kim..

That's what you get, Vera for having such a passive game. You can outlast someone but when your opponent is spraying winners, good luck...

  • @asantesamuel13

Zvonareva is amazing but her forehand is so underwhelming because she has this overly dramatic takeback. She's working too hard to hit the ball vs if she just shortened her swing and really timed it well, it would have way more power like Kim's. Kim in general times it so well that the ball just flies off her racquet.

I wonder why the hell the public makes so much noise when both players are in the middle of the game, especially that is observed at minute 5:40 of the video. And that has always characterized the US Open, its audience is insolent, uneducated and very rude, knowing that tennis is not like American football year that they are used to screaming and talking. IMHO! 🤦🏾‍♂️💩🤷🏻‍♂️
