should see the live version in paris (or madison square garden, they make the public sing in french too also there ^^) the chorus is a very beautiful tribute to Edith Piaf. I love diamant too, so sweet and bitter song. Feuer und wasser ❤ too
(Life story : when I go to Germany, if I go to a pub or a bakery to eat a käsetorte, they put Piaf "la vie en rose" on their playlist as soon as they hear that we speak French, I like Piaf, but overdose of "la vie en rose" x) then the little German I learned, I forgot because the Germans go straight to English when they understand that you are a foreigner 😂 )

This one shows a little bit of Till's creativity, as the word "blutet", that EducatedMarine translated as "bleeds", as in "bleeds spring" can also be translated as "blossoms" or "blooms".

Oh, you should really listen to "Diamant", album or live version, doesn't matter. Well, maybe live version would be even more touching to you, although the overall music and Till's voice is much better in the studio version.
Anyway, it is a pure love song (of course dark, but still love song) and might surprise you even more. The only bad thing about that song is that it's too short...
I often put only that song on repeat and play it for hours.
Beautiful song about a german (maybe perhaps a young soldier?) who looses his innocence in Paris.

Rammstein has a couple of "tribute" songs thay usually play in the country where the concert is played currently. For example Fruehling in Paris for France, Moskau for Russia, Te quiero puta for spanish speaking countries, America (maybe) for USA. And you would do good to watch the live versions of those songs, to catch the atmosphere and energy of thep people singing those songs in their native language. It's very strong
America seems more of a hate song than lol
There is a few interpretations you could take from the song;
1. A love story where someone meets a stranger in Paris, who doesn't speak the same language and they end up in love together.
2. The me-person traveled to Paris and met up with a prostitute to lose their virginity. The line that adds to this is "The lips often sold, but so soft". And she shows him the meaning of love and confidence that comes with it.
3. The me-person meats up with a stranger in Paris and they lose their virginity , because of the line "when I left her skin, Spring bleeds in Paris"
Several interpretations with this song as there always is with Rammstein, and none of them are wrong!
The lyricism of the song is precisely about the loss of virginity from two perspectives.
4 he speaks by metaphor of the city of paris ( maybe)
The Song is about an "ugly" Man (at least in his own Mind) who has his first sexual Experience with a Professional in Paris. And even though she would be considered a "lower class" Worker, he regrets nothing and keeps this Woman and the Memory itself very close to his Heart. Also, the entire Lyrics are Metaphors for having Sex. A "whisper in his Lap" with a lot of talking (aka Mouth Movement) without actually making a Sound is a Metaphor for a Blowjob for Example. Same with her crying/shouting words in his Face, which is just a Metaphor for a moaning Woman during Intercourse, bristled with Lust. He doesn't care that he can't understand her, because he knows it's a good thing - regardless of the Language Barrier between them. It is a wonderful and completely new Experience for the Singer, to a Point where the beautiful Spring of Paris starts to fade and "bleed" as soon as the Experience ends with the two Characters parting ways.
I love this song. The drumming in this song, especially in the second half, is the best I've ever heard from Rammstein and in my top 5 favourite drumming parts.
