i'm from italy and i'll tell you biscotti don't exist. biscotti is just the italian word for common biscuits/cookies, even the classic chocolate chip cookies are considered biscotti here. the cutted ones with hazelnuts in the middle are commonly called "cantuccini" or "tozzetti" and they are traditionally consumed with a side of sweet wine called "vin santo" (that means "holy wine") after your meal

What I notice is that non-italian tasters tend to be attracted to over-flavoured food, if not fake-flavoured food (Wacko's, Fonzies etc.), which is the opposite of what italian cuisine means. San Carlo's potatoes fits more with our way of enjoying food, because it's just fried potatoes, without any artificial flavours (and it makes sense: if I eat potatoes, I wanna taste potatoes, not artificially flavoured potatoes). We only use oil, salt and pepper (some use chilli) to season our food. (No criticism, it's just what I thought after seeing a lot of non-italian tasters on UA-cam :) ).

      Yes, it does.
"The Old French word bescuit is derived from the Latin words bis (twice) and coquere, coctus (to cook, cooked), and, hence, means "twice-cooked". This is because biscuits were originally cooked in a twofold process: first baked, and then dried out in a slow oven. This term was then adapted into English in the 14th century during the Middle Ages, in the Middle English word bisquite, to represent a hard, twice-baked product."

Like the brand Balconi for wafers, Motta for chocolate (you should have tried Novi). Also "not fried" chips are usually buyed by people that wants to stay healthy, but obviously can't be as good as the fried ones :) Next time you should ask an Italian to give you some advices, usually people are pretty nice and friendly (not in Friuli. We're not friendly. 😂😂)..
