Emmet Cohen - Piano
Regina Carter - Violin
Kyle Poole - Drums
Russell Hall - Bass
This bassist is from another planet.
this channel is one of my favorite things
Nice one 🤌🏻
And here there is my favorite of My Favorite Things.
Jazz played with either violin or cello is highly underrated.
I think there just aren't that many people who can do it really well like she can
Biggest fact , it’s the techniques , gotta play so tight . I got a cellist friend that I’m working with to add a jazz feel to his classical work
nah it not that popular for good reason
That quote though at 7:25. Amazing.
That’s a genius quote at 6:42!
Wow, world class musicians all of them! Russell Halls' tone is fantastic.
Awesome the Arvo Part Frates like intro ! Unexpected !
Man… Emmett… You are killerrrrr… that violinist! Daaaaaaamn! Incredible band, you guys are like out of this world
PHE. NO. ME. NAL. Regina Carter, you are a treasure.
I never liked the combination of violin and jazz - until now. This is amazing.
Have you listened to gypsy jazz ?
Ascolta ( fragile) eseguita da Regina Carter e Kenny Barron
There are a lot of 'Jazz violinists' who learn a melody and a lick but can't swing or hang (jam over chord changes). This lady is not one of them. Also check out Christian Howes.
Regina is still the bomb!
Best music channel on UA-cam
No question about it. Certainly one of my favorite things.
Great playing by all, and a lovely rapport between the band members. Love Regina's reference in the introduction to 'Fratres' by Avro Part.
And a reference to Night on Bald Mountain if I am not mistaken
Arvo
Magnifique version, superbement interprétée par de grands musiciens...
John Coltrane aurait apprécié, je suis sûr.
Greetings from France ❤
BEAUTIFUL REGINA! BEAUTIFUL EMMET, KYLE AND RUSSEL ! THANK YOU FOR SUCH VÍDEO! JAZZ, BESIDES ALL ITS QUALITIES, IS A MANNER OF PLAYING AND FEELING ANY KIND OF COMPOSITION! THIS IS ITS GREAT VALUE: MUCH FREEDOM ALWAYS!!!

This is probably my favorite performance on YT right now, everyone plays so beautifully. I hope to be part of performances like this someday. Thank you for the music and inspiration.

Regina Carter is off the charts with her amazing solo performance. Bassist!! Crazy Great!,the drummer is so cool and relaxed and Emmet is amazing. I've only discovered him today

I keep coming back to this masterpiece....synergy!
I now have a new favorite version for this song. Truly awesome. You four knocked this one out of the park!
0:16 to 0:30 seems to be a reference to Arvo Part's Fratres.
it is yea, cool reference
Merveilleuse version , interprétée avec brio , chaque musien a créé là une pépite.....

Extraordinarily beautiful
Man I almost jumped outta my seat listening to this🖤🖤🖤
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As we would say in Brazil: brabo!!!!
The violin player is lit! I just love the way she uses the different sounds from the instrument, bow attacks, tremolos, glissandos, etc.
I generally don't like violin in jazz, but it fits perfectly here.
You inspired me so much 🔥💘
What can I add. SUPER!!!!!!!
Maravilhosa. Grandes músicos. Parabéns e obrigado.

Genial🎹My Favorite Things
Bacanito😳, al principio parecía una referencia a frates
The woman still has it
👏🏾👏🏾
😍
damn , I didn't know about these guys but damn they just played the shit out of this song !!!
Лучшее исполнение "My favorite things" в джазовой обработке на мой взгляд.
Seca!!!
0:16 Arvo Pärt joined the chat
Yeah that surprised me
1:32
The violins opening reminds me of Arvo Parts fractres. I wonder if some influence came from this piece or not?
Прекрассно
pls add a little reverb on this violin in this video post production. its hard hear a main theme/instruments wihout presence. wiht a close mic into instruments like dpa mic
I like the individual tune videos. I wonder how a pairing with Catherine Russell would sound?
what's the lick at 6:34
No one talking about the Eleanor Rigby quote? so sick
Man she is spitting all kinds of bars. Got 'English Country Garden' too. Absolutely gorgeous.
7:10 🥹 Johannes?
Of course, and listen to 7:05 : it's the beginning of the 3rd movement of the double violin concerto !
@@YoungViolonist so good!
0:11 I know she did not just fucking quote that
John Coltrane would approve.
