    Mix the clay with limestone and heat it by burning coal,wood,oil or just electric furnace at 1900° celcius and you will have cement.

    That is incredibly cool!! If you wanted to get a cleaner clay, I would try putting it in a large amount of water and mixing to re-suspend it, allowing more water-soluble impurities to be washed out on the next filtration! The water coming out of the filter was very dark and murky, meaning there are probably a significant amount of impurities still present

    Just so everyone isn’t surprised when they try to do this, if you don’t purify it further than this, you’re going to end up with a super silty clay that has very little plasticity. Trust me, I’ve spent days trying to figure out why my dirt isn’t like clay 😂
    Look up the difference between sand, silt and clay and you’ll see its composition and size. Clay is super fine and although it’s almost everywhere, you likely have to dig at least 8 inches deep or find a water way or cut in the terrain to find it.
    Roll it into a coil, bend it around your finger, if it doesn’t break its very high clay content. If it does, you have your work cut out for you lol

    • @lookitsanotherpig9708
      @lookitsanotherpig9708 3 роки тому +8

      True! One of the best get arounds I’ve seen for that is to gather soil from the tops of dried puddles (that have been there for a long time) there should be a higher amount of clay there. Checking construction sites where they are digging foundations might also work:)

    • @jf2801
      @jf2801 3 роки тому +4

      It says you can use any soil, in the thumbnail. And it looks like normal soil, from a yard or something. If you want the best results, go with silt or even river soil, bc that's basically clay. The silt will definitely only need filtered, and the yield will be less. But, river clay is better. It does still need filtered, some.. but, if the quality is good, it should consist mostly of clay. Or, if you dig deep enough, the firm, moist soil layer should be clay. You can do that in just about any soil, bc it tends to have different layers, no matter where the location. But, I'd recommend the backyard, for that method. It tends to have a less saturated color, as well. I hope this helps. Also, moister climates, to temperate ones work best. Arid, not so much.

    Main Difference
    Understanding The Difference Between Mud and Clay Sculpture Making
    Clay and mud sculpture making is a type of art that has been around for centuries, although many people only recognize it as a popular hobby today. Many artists pursue clay and mud sculpting as a full-time career, while others simply wish to dabble in the art as a pastime. Clay and mud sculpture making is becoming popular because clay is easy to sculpt and work with, and the final product looks fantastic.
    What is the Difference Between Mud and Clay Sculpture Making
    Mud and clay can be wonderful materials for creating sculpture, but it’s important to understand the difference between mud and clay. Mud is a soil-like substance made from decomposed matter, while clay is made from minerals. When sculptors use clay, they are typically using earth that has been set to dry. This clay is then broken down and sifted so that only clay remains. On the other hand, sculptures made from mud are used as building materials.
