Nuclear Outposts China's 20-Ton Floating Reactors

- In the highly disputed South China Sea, China has made a significant leap towards advancing its energy and military capabilities. Innovative floating nuclear reactors now power their man-made islands, supplying electricity, fresh water, and the energy required for military operations.
These reactors represent a new era in strategic dominance, turning remote outposts into lethal hubs of strategic control. These unsinkable nuclear aircraft carriers, as they have been nicknamed, allow China’s artificial islands to house airstrips, radar facilities, and missile sites with the assurance of unlimited energy.
The floating nuclear reactors represent another technological leap and a new frontier in the geopolitical sphere, where energy, politics, and military might converge in the Pacific.
9:32 “China will have 6 aircraft carriers by 2035.”
U.S. : “That’s cute ☺️”
Even if they do get 6 they're all smaller, weaker, and not as advanced as the US. Experience also matters a ton: US carriers outperformed Japanese carriers in WW2 in most instances because while both countries were some of the first to adopt aircraft carriers the US used them more (patrolling pretty much the entire Pacific and Atlantic while Japan was more regional) and had a better training system. China has zero experience with carriers or naval combat, and they've only begun training the first generation of sailors, they're like Japan in the 1920s.
Tech also matters a lot. China is copying Russian/Soviet aircraft carriers and even the Soviets realized they couldnt challenge the US at sea, their aircraft carriers were as much for dick measuring contests as they were real warships and we can see how their carriers perform with the Kuznetsov.
Those that can't, make a ramp.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. China has the Cybertruck of aircraft carriers.
They don’t reshape anything. The Navy has said their aircraft carriers have only been successful because of the decades of experience we have had operating them since WWII and the lessons we’ve learned over said decades. How long has China been operating carriers? Oh that’s right. They might as well gotten them from WISH!
They got them because, WE ( U.S.) IS EDUCATING THEM AT ALMOST EVERY UNIVERSITY!
LOL! Even during the Qing dynasty, Chinese inhabited both the Paracel and Spratly Islands. The Nationalist revolted from the Qing dynasty so claimed all that was China. The Nationalists and Communist had a civil war and the Communists won with the Nationalist retreating to Taiwan. With Nixon, the sanctions and embargoes placed on the Communists were dropped and the US recognized the PRC as the legitimate government of China and that Taiwan was a part of China. So, today it is the PRC that is the legitimate government of China and that recognition is from almost all countries and the UN.
The US uses its carriers to intimidate and project power, nothing less. However, in today's world, it appears aircraft carriers may be going the way of battle ships as drones an missiles are dominating conflicts.
Experts like you always underestimate the enemy. For example, the Houthis have attacked US and UK naval ships in the Red Sea and the Eisenhower left and a carrier from the Pacific, the Roosevelt is on its way to replace it. Interesting that the Eisenhower couldn't wait for the Roosevelt to arrive and that the Roosevelt had to go from the Pacific to the Middle East. Where are the other 5 carriers supposedly in the Atlantic? Did the Eisenhower leave because a Houthis missile hit it? The US denies it, but alternate media says it happened. The Chinese have better missiles than the Houthis and two are called carrier killers, designed specifically for attacking US carriers. Have you also noticed that the US Navy sends its older ships via the Taiwan Straits? Maybe the US is afraid it could lose a few ships by putting them in dangers way. In fact over the last 48 years, only two US carriers have transited the Taiwan Straits. The last time was 23 years ago.
@@jessemills3845 ? You realize how much these universities charge international students? It's a business after all. It goes both ways.
You really hate Chinese people don't you?
These kinds of inflammatory videos are a great tool for perpetuating hatred . The Chinese government dose NOT REPRESENT ITS PEOPLES feelings . Any more than the American government Speaks for the average American on the streets 🤔 . Between the Chinese governments Dictatorship …and the American FACIST styled leadership , about the only difference between the two is TIME .
Try to remember THAT !! .
I’m Australian Bourne and bread 🤷 . I know Americans who hate the waring nature of their country ….and i know as many Chinese people who hate their own county for-the same reason . The difference Being ….. the Chinese government will track it’s own citizens Down to other countries …. Threaten their family back home in China ….drag them home if they can , and imprison them . Do you think the average Chinese person ….working for a few dollars a day ….are happy about living in China . They don’t chose to be Bourne in the country they are Bourne in ….and most can’t afford to leave.
China hasn’t even proven its capable of shooting down a Houthi drone 😂
I head from several Chinese pilots that only certain planes can take off and land from "the floating islands" same for their aircraft carriers. Which means they will have to retool their airfleet which is something hard to do when you're broke.
Steal secrets much, and who owns most of US dept... js
Broke? Lol China isn't broke. We are. Turn off CNN.
Can't take off using water for fuel
heard in your dream?😂
Dude did yo get memo, islands and beaches around the world are sinking or degrading. The Chinese man made islands are sinking because they were made by my WISHfull thinking.🤣😆
And folks, we can all go ahead and shake the hand of our governments who continue to offer favorable trade agreements and take their kickbacks.
There is a reason why no 'islands' existed in that parts of the South China Seas. Currents, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, and other natural events. As long as the US or other Western countries don't develop a floating nuclear power plant, China won't be able to either. R and D
Many years ago Westinghouse was developing a floating nuclear reactor that was to be used off the coast of Jacksonville, FL.
@@screddot7074 the US has used nuclear reactors on subs and aircraft carriers to power cities before too. They normally only do it after disasters like the 2010 Haiti earthquake. They also used a non-nuclear carrier to power Tacoma WA once too.
Unsinkable huh? Sounds like a challenge
Sounds like the Titanic
Why don’t we the USA use old subs that are nuclear as portable power stations. Sail up plug in and you got power. Run an offshore cable and connect then dive the submarine 100’ down.
It's probably because China has a different relationship with the word "safety"
So your saying let’s put an old nuclear reactor that needs expensive refuelling off the coast. Then have people on it to run it as a power station and sink it. In an old submarine that isn’t safe anymore and will need really expensive refits.
It would be cheaper and easier just to build a self contained reactor and put that on a ship.
Naval reactors aren’t that powerful compared to civilian reactors and they use highly enriched fuel instead of low
@@Statueshop297 no I’m saying use the reactor that’s already on a decommissioned submarine that isn’t good enough for war because it’s kinda old. Plug it in off the coast then dive it so it can’t get shot at.
@@Statueshop297 expensive refits, what are you talking about bozo. Submarine that’s past its prime as a weapon but still good enough to sit off the coast and dive. Not sure you are smart enough to understand or have a vision beyond your last meal.
Why would we need to ?
Tofu dreg reactors for tofu dreg islands? Sounds like a PLAN plan.
You don't need AI generated graphics, its mays your video cheesy.

There is no "South China Sea." It's called the West Philippine Sea.
BS
Actually it's the West Puget Sound and has been a part of America since ancient times
@@arthas640 I just found a map from the - 7000`s that say it belongs to my country
There have been reactors on ships for 50 years or more. And have been used to provide power ashore. No big whoop.
They’ll make great artificial reefs in the future..
You legit dont have to "sink" something to disable it or render it useless.
Aren’t there islands sinking lol
I sure remember islands like Wake and Midway that were floating bases that were still attacked and Wake was never given back until the end of the war. Yah it didn't work out so well for Japan so good luck guys!
Two problems. You don't target the reactors, you target the connection.
Second, Islands don't move.
... assuming they have this tech (big assumption), it's quite literally 50 year old technology...
Yeah the PRC is actually really behind the times. The US and UK have had carriers since the 1910s and a bunch of countries got them in the 20s and the US had the first nuclear aircraft carrier 63 years ago and the first nuclear ship in general 65 years ago. Experience also matters a ton in performance as Japan learned in WW2.
Floating nuclear reactors are brilliant. No need for purchasing land, fulfilling local laws and web of regulations, and providing power along coastal areas at need. Makes you wonder why we aren't doing the same.
Greetings from Spain . These reactors allowed the production of synthetic fuel on the islands?
Unsinkable islands, but sinkable floating reactors!!
China's claims date prior to WW2 and some say back to when Spain owned the Philippines.
"After World War II, the Spratly Islands were noted by the British High Commission of Singapore as territory that was returned to China. In 1971, the following statement was made: “Spratly Island was a Chinese dependency, part of Kwangtung Province…and was returned to China after the war. We cannot find any indication of its having been acquired by any other country and so can only conclude it is still held by communist China. (Far Eastern Economic Review, December 31, 1974).”" (Maritime Executive)
And before that, the Philippines had NO claim to the Spratly Islands.
"When the Philippines gained independence in 1946, the Philippine nationalists wanted to claim the Spratly Islands. The American advisors, however, discouraged them due to the fact that the Spanish-American Treaty of 1898 clearly stipulated that the western limit of the Philippine islands did not include the Spratlys. " (Wikipedia)
Many folks would understand that after 1949 the Chinese government was in taiwan.
The Communist party was an illegal organization when it took power, and any claims that it made during the 70s are without merit.
But the CCP has spent a lot of money over the last few decades to make folks forget that the legitimate elected Chinese government is in taiwan.
The legal government of China has been in Taiwan since 1949.
@@acmhfmggru Wrong court! The Treaty of San Francisco states that any sovereignty claim shall be judged at the International Court of Justice. The Philippines went to the International Arbitration Court knowing the Chief Justice was Japanese and decidedly biased because Japan also had a claim in the East China Sea over the Senkaku/Daiyu Islands. That judge should have recused himself as did an Indonesian judge. He did not. Further why didn't Japan bring its claim before this tribunal? Maybe because the Japanese know better and if brought forth, it would look stupid before the wrong court. And, lastly, the arbitration court requires both parties to the arbitration attend, The Chinese were MIA, so no legal verdict could be achieved.
@@acmhfmggru Oh? You disagree with the Treaty that set the rules for sovereignty claims? LOL! BTW the Treaty of SF was created by the Americans, not the Chinese.

1:28 They carry not just food and water, they secretly carry materials to reinforce that stranded ship.
Unlimited energy dumping shitloads of irradiated water into the ocean from cooling the reactor
Seems so overhyped. They can barely get an aircraft carrier with a reactor
Where are their ship yards?
I'd like to see Fujan try to travel across the Pacific Ocean without a Replenishment Oiler?
Why can't they come together like those other islands and just make some amazing dressing?!?!
A chinese carrier group could not reasonably confront a U.S. carrier group and prevail Just a fact
All depends where they're deployed. China has hundreds of Carrier-killer missiles. It's why the USA will not deploy multiple aircraft carriers within the first island chain. They would be sitting ducks.
Twist it how you like , U.S. would win . China has nothing to back up its claims while the US is proven time and time again. And our missiles ARE NOT FILLED WITH WATER. Duuuhhh..
I wonder if the Captain of this Titanic will have to choose between the shark or his boat's nuclear batteries when it goes to the bottom?

Russians have being doing this is north regions for decades now. Americans also. Nothing crazy there.
Reports about these Islands say they're falling apart because of tofu dreg construction.
Putting a third rate reactor on crumbling islands in a Tsunami and Typhoon plagued bit of water isn't an intelligent thing to do.
Luckily we are not in the time of General MacAuther anymore, and those little dots of sand are far from unsinkable today. A few well placed MOAB's per island and they are again nothing but mud puddles in the middle of nowhere.
Not really impressed with floating nuclear reactors, considering the navy has been running them for decades
This is being done as preparation for the development of energy weapons.
They don’t have deep water experience and it’s Chinese made. Remember that.
Like everything else it's garbage lol
sooo CHINA claimed 90 % of the south CHINA sea.... if we look at the words , they seem to imply something
Those floating reactors mean they can be sunk don't you think
with the history of failures. its only a matter of time before a reactor explodes
One carrier reshapes the Pacific. Okay, bruh.
Pacific storms and barge mounted nuclear reactors are a recipe for disaster. A LOT more vulnerable than Dai Ichi was. Just Saiyan . . .
Chinese expertise with aircraft carriers is about as deep as my experience with creating an origami girlfriend.

Russia is already operating floating Nuclear power Plant and Russia also operates Fleet of Nuclear Ice Breaker and providing Power to remote siberian cities
With that kind of power they can cause electronic interference/warfare far and wide.
America’s nuke ships have the ability to supply off ship power for years…Nothing new
Several of these islands have already begun to sink and have become useless.

But some of their islands are sinking.

There's a big difference between the islands in the South Pacific that we occupy during World War ii, and these sand dunes that the Chinese are trying to make in the South China sea.😂😂
They can't even have fully loaded combat planes take off because the runways are too short. They're also syncing at an alarming rate😂😂
the chimese are the Alfred E. Neumans of the planet

those aircraft carriers are just improved russian tech. nothing about these carriers reshapes anything at all. people not military are not experts on the topic
But we here in the NATO West have a DEI, BLGTQ friendly military, so surely we will win any conflict 😂
All i see is a big chunk of TOFU.
I expect the reactors will melt down in the next 2 years.
🤣👌
they will explode if and when they are remotely detonated
Coal powered, nuclear reactors 🙃
You don't dominate ANYTHING with ski-ramp carriers... And before you go on about it, ONE carrier with catapults doesn't make a bit of difference.

What a great idea xi xi Ping Pong a permanent nuclear reactor on a temporary island now how did they think this one Up cause I already see future problems and if they built it like buildings and infastructure that fall apart during the rain and others just fall down period and what's going to happen to fish in the SCS when they start glowing in the water if China hasn't fished it to extinction and China who died and left you boss of the SCS
They built islands where planes can’t land and ships can’t dock.
getting oil out of the ground is now 'oil exploitation' now?
