    ive done a few things on cars. im a pretty intelligent person. fuel filter oil filter. Changed a starter. rotor. breaks. and replaced thing with the prongs on it that you stick the tire on to because it was missing a bolt. but damn man if you can take all that shit out of a car like that and put it back in you are a talented dude. because to me identifying something in an engine like that is trying differentiate noodles in a plate of spaghetti.

    Very informative vid.....Like the part about the bracket that has hidden bolts.....You seem to know what you are doing and hopefully I can do the same......I had a friend replace his head gasket on a honda over 3 times and found out the radiator was shot....and that was by a pro mechanic who charged him good money........Head gaskets blow for lack of lubricant or coolant through the radiator. Thanks for the vid.

      loopdeedoo Hi loopdeedoo and thanks for all of your comments. Yes, it's easy enough to do, it just takes time like anything. If you get stuck on any part of it feel free to give me a shout back. Its time consuming more than anything, but like you see in the video overview, it's really not that difficult. If you need any help just let me know. Thanks alot and please subscribe.

    Hey Tony dont sweat it , they make assembly lube , they sell it everywhere and I'll keep you from having a dry turnover, just be extremely cautious when it comes to the torque specs and do it in the right order , good luck and don't worry about it man if you got it off you ain't got no problem but it back on

    Only gripe I have about Chrysler is I have a 2007 PT and the TIPM or Totaly integrated power module (basically it's a fancy word for the under the hood fuse box) took a crap. I had two low beam headlights and one high beam light go out. Tried to replace the bulbs to no avail. and the wipers act crazily like you turn it on and turn them off and they go up and come down like really really really slow no good in the snow or rain. Took it to the dealer and that's what they told me it was and want to replace it to the tune of 1000 bucks. After reading pages about it on the internet I came to find out there was a class action lawsuit against Chrysler Dodge for these defective products.

    • @jamiejonesthecarman
      @jamiejonesthecarman  8 років тому

      they are generally Just Junk Yard Parts however what usually causes the problem is the ground where it's located try cleaning your ground and see if it doesn't improve your situation

      I had the same issue with my 2005 and changed out the multi function switch on the steering column and my lights work fine now. A key indicator for me was the fog light indicator was continuously lit.

    Thank you for the tutorial I managed to remove all the bolts from the metal piece and it is supposed to slide right out according to all the videos I have watched. But not happening here. Any suggestions on how to remove metal bracket so I can get to the center mount?

  • @saintsamaritan

    Changed timing belt ('02 non-turbo PT), timing marks seemed right on. No go. What should I try next? What's a common oversight? We even turned the harmonic balancer 180 degrees. 1. Do you need a jig to keep the cams aligned while putting the new belt on? 2. Could it be that the timing could be off a hair b/c of...? 3. Could spark plugs be the culprit? 4. Stale gas?

    • @jamiejonesthecarman
      @jamiejonesthecarman  9 років тому

      saintsamaritan Ok..so the first thing that you need to do is a compression test on all four of the cylinders. As long as the compression reads over 120 per cylinder, chances are good that your timing is correct and the vehicle SHOULD start. If the compression is way off (example: Cylinder 1:120,Cylinder 2: 140 and the other two cylinders are all over the place) then you have a timing problem. If they are all reading within 30lbs of each other with a minimum of 120psi the timing is ok. The real culprit here is probably going to be your crank sensor.

    • @jamiejonesthecarman
      @jamiejonesthecarman  9 років тому

      saintsamaritan Please let me know what you find out and share it with everyone here.

    • @laclaw61

      saintsamaritan yo have to set it back one to two teeth backward so that when you release the tensioner it lines up right.

    attempting to change water pump, center mount, and timing belt and wondering if I need to take car to have AC lines drained before removing them. Is there a secret to disconnect AC lines without taking it to a mechanic shop?

  • @binthrdonthat
    @binthrdonthat 9 років тому +1

    Can you just pull the ac lines like that? Do you have to evacuate the system when you reconnect? Many of us don't have that type of equipment. Good video

    • @jamiejonesthecarman
      @jamiejonesthecarman  9 років тому

      binthrdonthat yes you definitely want to evacuate the system if it's under pressure I mean technically you could get away with it but when they're under pressure there it's messy and its not good for the environment and all that good stuff so you can probably get it drawn down for probably a few dollars at any shop.if you do decide to pull it with it under pressure release it real slow and put something over top of it so it cant spray back in your face like a towel or something like that, and definitely have eye protection on. if you need any help feel free to let me know thanks a lot

    Im not sure its the motor,might just b heads?

    • @jamiejonesthecarman
      @jamiejonesthecarman  9 років тому +1

      ***** They are pretty much the same generally speaking, just a matter of if its turbo or not. Definitely call the parts store and have them cross reference your part(s) to confirm.

    • @jamiejonesthecarman
      @jamiejonesthecarman  8 років тому

      I would just suggest you take your time however there's not that many gaskets required you can actually buy the whole entire head gasket kit and I'll take care of it all for like probably a hundred bucks

      Thanks mixkain, if you have someone to help you out, you could get it done in one long day. If not, and you would be doing the removal and installation by yourself, you would probably need one day to take it out and one to put it in.
